"The Incredibles" vs "Finding Nemo"

HI DERE, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:03 (eighteen years ago)

Nemo in a landslide.

humansuit, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:04 (eighteen years ago)

no it is a bug's life, guys.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Friday, 15 June 2007 00:05 (eighteen years ago)

i like them all. but nemo might win my vote. wait, i didn't see cars. i like all the rest.

scott seward, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:06 (eighteen years ago)

A Bug's Life has been seriously played to death by my children and I will never be able to like it again.

So, Nemo.

Sara R-C, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:06 (eighteen years ago)

Myself, I'm torn between Toy Story, Nemo and Incredibles.

chap, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:07 (eighteen years ago)

no wai! nemo was loud and sorta ugly. monsters, inc. by a nautical mile.

remy bean, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:07 (eighteen years ago)

WTF THIS IS CLEARLY "THE INCREDIBLES", THAT IS THE ONLY ANIMATED MOVIE THAT HAS APPEALED TO MY FATHER

HI DERE, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:08 (eighteen years ago)

(Nemo is good, tho)

HI DERE, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:08 (eighteen years ago)

Monster's inc. was so intense/gentle/original/imaginative.

Abbott, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:09 (eighteen years ago)

TOY STORY GODDAMMIT, ur all crazy for nemo

'The Incredibles' 2nd

Just got offed, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:09 (eighteen years ago)

A Bug's Life has been seriously played to death by my children

Yeah, I can't even think about it without vomitting on my keybrd.

humansuit, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:10 (eighteen years ago)

remy otm. nemo is my least favorite (it is good though). haven't seen bug's life.

tremendoid, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:10 (eighteen years ago)

no wai! nemo was loud and sorta ugly. monsters, inc. by a nautical mile.

Because you are disparaging Nemo you are barred from using oceanic terminology.

humansuit, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:11 (eighteen years ago)

I think I am partially influenced by the brilliant Crush the turtle show at Disney World. I like how he taught my kids to say, "totally."

Sara R-C, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:11 (eighteen years ago)

Toy Story 2 holla

A B C, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:12 (eighteen years ago)

I didn't see "Monsters Inc" because of Billy Crystal, much like I didn't see either "Toy Story" because of the perfect storm of awfulness that is Tom Hanks + Tim Allen.

HI DERE, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:12 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, I can't even think about it without vomitting on my keybrd.

Reason I stopped watching movies at home with my kids.

Sara R-C, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:12 (eighteen years ago)

LOL. Yeah, I should try that instead of going through SO MANY keyboards.

humansuit, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:13 (eighteen years ago)

(yeah, i do like nemo a lot anyhow)

remy bean, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:13 (eighteen years ago)

Toy Story movies are pretty good, but you have to pretend you don't know who is voicing the characters. Oh, except for the manipulative song in Toy Story 2 that Jessie sings that makes me cry like a big idiot.

Sara R-C, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:14 (eighteen years ago)

Dan, that is bigotry, WATCH TOY STORY NOW, it is one of the most fundamenta movies of the past 10 years.

Just got offed, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:15 (eighteen years ago)

*fundamental

Just got offed, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:15 (eighteen years ago)

"I didn't see "Monsters Inc" because of Billy Crystal"

nobody despises billy more than me, but he doesn't ruin monsters inc. he's fine in it. he should be forced to do nothing but voices forever.

scott seward, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:15 (eighteen years ago)

rittin is fundamenta

tremendoid, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:16 (eighteen years ago)

I believe you mean "fundamentalist."

humansuit, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:16 (eighteen years ago)

My son had me pick Cars. He watches it over and over again. But he likes Finding Nemo a lot too.

I probably would have picked Nemo myself.

Moodles, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:16 (eighteen years ago)

Billy Crystal is pretty good in Monsters, but not so great in Howl's Moving Castle...

Moodles, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:16 (eighteen years ago)

oh god no. the japanese voices weren't so hot either iirc tho

tremendoid, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:18 (eighteen years ago)

or did they even have them on there? there has to be some reason i chose a soundtrack with billy crystal on it

tremendoid, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:19 (eighteen years ago)

i think there are fairly objectionable people in every pixar movie

A B C, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:22 (eighteen years ago)

I didn't see either "Toy Story" because of the perfect storm of awfulness that is Tom Hanks + Tim Allen.

Yeah Dan, get over it and just fucking watch Toy Story, it's great. In fact I've decided to vote for it.

chap, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:22 (eighteen years ago)

"The Incredibles" is superlative on pretty much every level, though.

HI DERE, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:24 (eighteen years ago)

You're right on that, Dan, but if you like it so much YOU MUST SEE TOY STORY.

Chap, is it me or do Brits vote for certain American films way more readily than the Americans do? First we both go for Being John Malkovitch when nobody else raises an eyebrow, then we're all over Toy Story. Is there something in the Limey mentality we're discovering here?

(someone else can tap-in the open goal zing)

Just got offed, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:25 (eighteen years ago)

I think the difference here is that "Being John Malkovich" is awesome but "Toy Story" has two of the biggest penises in Hollywood in it.

HI DERE, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:29 (eighteen years ago)

Maybe you want to rephrase that.

Sara R-C, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:30 (eighteen years ago)

Louis - maybe it's a raised-in-North-London mentality (you're a North London boy, right?). Though I can't really see much of a thematic link between Malkovich and Toy Story, and I'm thinking about it - er, they're both kind of about identity, I suppose.

xpost - Dan, godammit, WATCH TOY STORY

chap, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:31 (eighteen years ago)

MAYBE I DON'T

oh wait maybe I do

HI DERE, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:31 (eighteen years ago)

but I didn't know they were two of the biggest penises in Hollywood, so i thought it was (and still think it is) one of the greatest children's films of all-time, possibly THE greatest. storyline, script, animation, acting, the lot.

I'm a South London boy (with plenty of N.London friends/acquaintances). Same Malkovitch, different Who, clearly. :-D

Just got offed, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:33 (eighteen years ago)

Tom Hanks is such a cock, someone kick him in the pussy.

HI DERE, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:34 (eighteen years ago)

my favourite film EVAH, Oldboy, is far more beloved of Brits than it is Americans (many of whom loathe it for some unfathomable reason), and it has a great deal to do with identity as well. let me get my magnifying glass out...

Just got offed, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:35 (eighteen years ago)

oh, and Fight Club! all arty british student-types worship Fight Club. i am no exception.

Just got offed, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:36 (eighteen years ago)

OH MY GOD WE HAVE NO EMPIRE ANYMORE AND WE CRAVE A NEW IDENTITY.

Cracked it.

chap, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:37 (eighteen years ago)

toy storys aint all that. not bad though.

tremendoid, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:37 (eighteen years ago)

or maybe they are simply awesome, entertaining films which a load of americans 'hate' because they're scared of liking something the teensiest bit crass or populist. :-P

Just got offed, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:39 (eighteen years ago)

american college doofuses have fight club boners too i promise. and maybe you didn't realize that oldboy was directly responsible for a black day that broke our nation's heart

A B C, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:40 (eighteen years ago)

i thought that was some crazy kid

remy bean, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:44 (eighteen years ago)

"Fight Club" is awesome, plz get one (1) thesis that makes sense.

HI DERE, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:46 (eighteen years ago)

Toy Story is good, the rest I can do without.

Curt1s Stephens, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:46 (eighteen years ago)

actually the only 3D CG movie I think is really really really good is Over the Hedge

Curt1s Stephens, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:48 (eighteen years ago)

I've only seen two, Cars is way better than The Incredibles

milo z, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:48 (eighteen years ago)

american college doofuses have fight club boners too i promise.

Way to stereotype! I can't help enjoying it, and besides, I don't watch it regularly or talk about it; I just happened to absolutely love it. Doesn't mean I don't understand slightly more cerebral shit. See also: The Matrix (haven't seen either sequel).

and maybe you didn't realize that oldboy was directly responsible for a black day that broke our nation's heart

I knew it would come to this, eventually. I kinda want to go on a killing-spree in the name of Citizen Kane now, just to demonstrate how tenuous the link is. That dude didn't do ANYTHING that related IN ANY WAY to the film's central premises, except by involving VIOLENCE. Any idiot fucker can do that.

Just got offed, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:48 (eighteen years ago)

Re: over the hedge X : Then you have a warped sense of quality. Tell me, are you from Northern London?

humansuit, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:48 (eighteen years ago)

Fight Club is also far more clever than many people make out.

Just got offed, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:49 (eighteen years ago)

Curtis WISHES he was from Northern London, he wants to be closer to his #1 pop idol Lily Allen.

Just got offed, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:49 (eighteen years ago)

Fight Club is also far more clever than many people make out.

Will you please just shut the fuck up?

milo z, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:50 (eighteen years ago)

best pixar feature?

the power button on the dvd player.

Steve Shasta, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:50 (eighteen years ago)

I'm not even British

But then again I haven't seen The Incredibles so I might be missing out on quality. I hardly ever watch cartoon movies these days, I just saw Over the Hedge because my gf wanted to see it.

Curt1s Stephens, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:51 (eighteen years ago)

this thread is for reclaiming the toy stories and even cars if you want to get real saucy, not fight club

A B C, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:51 (eighteen years ago)

There goes my theory that only Northern Londoners have bad taste.

humansuit, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:52 (eighteen years ago)

Louis Fight Club praise is best left off Pixar threads. A better place for it is in my English class last semester (esp. if you want to get into my English prof's pants).

Curt1s Stephens, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:53 (eighteen years ago)

Will you please just shut the fuck up?

Well done for having a better taste in films than me, and not being an objectionable snob about it.

Just got offed, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:53 (eighteen years ago)

I think I like Monsters Inc the best.

Alex in SF, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:53 (eighteen years ago)

What kind of pants are they?

humansuit, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:53 (eighteen years ago)

Just to wrap the whole FC thing up, I don't regard it as a 'monumental step forwards' or whatever, just an insanely enjoyable film (like, y'know, Ocean's 11). I definitely wouldn't cite it in an English class.

Just got offed, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:56 (eighteen years ago)

I've seen and rate:

toy story>>monsters inc.>>>toy story 2/finding nemo>>>>>>>>>a bug's life (think I've only seen half of this or was it antz?)

RJG, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:56 (eighteen years ago)

the amount of >s you've used would suggest that it was Antz.

chap, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:58 (eighteen years ago)

: >

RJG, Friday, 15 June 2007 00:59 (eighteen years ago)

i really cant believe toy story 2 isn't the runaway favorite between the toy stories among those who've seen both. frasier is in it.

A B C, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:00 (eighteen years ago)

Antz had Woody Allen and J-Lo though.

humansuit, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:00 (eighteen years ago)

thank you i could never tell which is the woody allen one (they all look alike amirite?). i need to find an internet.

tremendoid, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:01 (eighteen years ago)

guys still so excited about ratatouille!

strgn, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:01 (eighteen years ago)

Toy Story 2 had mean motherfucker dark secrets KELSEY GRAMMAR as a collector's item toy who never got taken out of his box and consequently is an insaniac elitist who hops around in a box.

Abbott, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:05 (eighteen years ago)

Pretty much the role he was made for!

Abbott, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:05 (eighteen years ago)

IRON GIANT>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Incredibles, p.s.

Abbott, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:06 (eighteen years ago)

Americans should like this better than the first, then.

humansuit, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:06 (eighteen years ago)

There were a lot of Elastigirl ass shots in the Incredibles. It started to weird me out after a while.

Abbott, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:06 (eighteen years ago)

ratatouille is about a cooking rat named remy. like me!

it is so annoying how the characters move in iron giant. but i like it better than incredibles too

A B C, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:08 (eighteen years ago)

The moral of Toy Story 2 is collectors are douchebags; keeping toys in M++ condition is evil, a moral I can get behind. Especially since I got ebay negative feedback after selling MINT ++ MY LITTLE PONY. She WAS mint condition except for the missing head, the coal marks and the burnt mane.

Abbott, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:08 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah, I'm leaning towards Toy Story 2, though the first was good, too. But ANTZ has Christopher Walken and Sylvester Stallone.

Tape Store, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:09 (eighteen years ago)

OMG WALL-E is Chibi-Robo the movie!

Ants wasn't even PIXARs, fool.

Abbott, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:09 (eighteen years ago)

Iron Giant is one of my 19 favourite films, it says so on my facebook page.

chap, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:11 (eighteen years ago)

ANTZ>>>>>>PIXAR

Tape Store, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:11 (eighteen years ago)

i don't think i was able to evaluate antz fairly due to childhood bias against animated disney knockoffs, somehow already-extant mild dislike of woody allen, and the movie's awkward attempt to be grownup but damn that was an ugly looking movie

A B C, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:12 (eighteen years ago)

Ants wasn't even PIXARs, fool.

But as long as we're talking about Old Boy and Virginia Tech, why not.

humansuit, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:12 (eighteen years ago)

I think Antz is a bit underrated, probably a Northern London thing.

chap, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:14 (eighteen years ago)

Toy Story 2 actually made me cry, but I might have been on my guy period at the time.

Monsters Inc. and The Incredibles are tied at 2nd place.

Johnny Fever, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:17 (eighteen years ago)

ANTZ was as far as I can remember, quite horrible,(I watched it when I was still a kid) but I think what annoys me about Antz/Shrek/Shark's Tale/Over the hedge and these non-Pixar films in general is that they try to recruit all the big-name stars they possibly can with their budget, but Pixar goes for the lesser known but more awesome people like Holly Hunter, Denis Leary, Ellen and John Goodman.

danzig, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:23 (eighteen years ago)

I think Antz is a bit underrated, probably a Northern London thing.

I would say so. I'm glad I was on the board today. I will think twice before trusting a North-Londoner again. I will think twice and consult a Welshman before making any vital decisions.

humansuit, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:25 (eighteen years ago)

shrek is ugly

RJG, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:30 (eighteen years ago)

But far better than WILL SMITH INCARNATED AS A GISH.

Abbott, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:32 (eighteen years ago)

OR EVEN A FISH!

Abbott, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:32 (eighteen years ago)

shrek has had the most evil impact of any of these, sharks tale was just a minor shit skillet

A B C, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:34 (eighteen years ago)

Shrek is forever hatred 9th circle of hy heart's personal hell for others. However, I was kind of having amental breakdown when Shark's Tale came out and everywhere I went I had to see Will Smith Fish. I started getting some ideas of reference from the whole thing...that image fucked with me hardcore.

Abbott, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:36 (eighteen years ago)

yeah making the wisecracking computer animated animals actually resemble their celebrity voicers would have been a nightmarish trend had it caught on

A B C, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:37 (eighteen years ago)

shrek 2 is really good believe it or not. I hated the first and my wife said the 3rd was terrible.

tremendoid, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:40 (eighteen years ago)

Shrek is fucking terrible

Curt1s Stephens, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:44 (eighteen years ago)

A B C, Friday, 15 June 2007 01:46 (eighteen years ago)

toy story 2 is great

ghost rider, Friday, 15 June 2007 02:23 (eighteen years ago)

I didn't see "Monsters Inc" because of Billy Crystal

Danforth, Monsters Inc. is really John Goodman's film, but Xtal's bits are actually quite smashing.

The real true ranking, as ranked by a truth-wrangler:

1. Les Incroyables
2. Monsters Inc.
2. Toy Story 2
2. Finding Nemo
5. Toy Story
6. Cars
100000. A Butt's Life

Leee, Friday, 15 June 2007 02:31 (eighteen years ago)

Finding Nemo is my favorite, I am an American thx.

The Yellow Kid, Friday, 15 June 2007 04:51 (eighteen years ago)

kv_nol, Friday, 15 June 2007 09:37 (eighteen years ago)

Guys Cars is actually a pretty good movie. I mean, I think Leee has it ranked pretty accurately near the bottom, but it's still definitely worth watching.

I'm going to vote for Nemo I think mostly because there were parts in it that, when we saw it in the theater, were more edge-of-my-seat than anything I had ever seen in any movies that claimed to be edge-of-my-seat kind of movies. Also because I am an absolute sucker for father/son stories of any kind (hello 1st season of LOST).

ILX System, Sunday, 17 June 2007 23:01 (eighteen years ago)

I'm not totally sure I like Toy Story 2 better than The Incredibles, but I voted for it here for the same reason I voted for Bogus Journey in the Keanu poll: it's so rare that a sequel is as good or better than the original that it kinda deserves extra points.

Alex in Baltimore, Sunday, 17 June 2007 23:46 (eighteen years ago)

i like you. here's the answer key, a day early.

1. Monsters Inc.
2. Incredibles

1. Incredibles
2. Toy Story 2
3. Monsters Inc
4. Toy Story
5. Finding Nemo
6. (tie) I barely remember A Bug's Life and haven't seen Cars

Rock Hardy, Monday, 18 June 2007 02:22 (eighteen years ago)

Ratatouille actually was pretty great (caught the sneak peek showing Saturday night). It took me forever to realize Patton Oswalt was voicing the main rat. Now, it's not in the upper tier of Pixar films, but it's definitely not Bug's Life or Cars either. It's kind of light on breathtaking action sequences, but it's paced well and (naturally) has a sweet ending.

Johnny Fever, Monday, 18 June 2007 03:33 (eighteen years ago)

Is it better than the Incredibles?

Tape Store, Monday, 18 June 2007 03:33 (eighteen years ago)

A Bug's Life is a great movie but I didn't vote for it.

Dimension 5ive, Monday, 18 June 2007 03:51 (eighteen years ago)

there is no way that i would ever consider any of these movies "great." but then again, there are very few children's movies that would earn my seal of approval.

t0dd swiss, Monday, 18 June 2007 03:55 (eighteen years ago)

@Tape Store: It depends. I liked The Incredibles a great deal, so I say no. But it's a perfectly fine way to spend about a little less than two hours (plus, you get to see a sneak trailer for the next Pixar film Wall-E).

Johnny Fever, Monday, 18 June 2007 03:55 (eighteen years ago)

Good. I'll tell this to my classmates who plan on dragging me to THE FANTASTIC FOUR PT 2.

The Incredibles and Nemo coming top I have absolutely no problems with. I do think both Toy Stories are better than Monsters Inc, though (which is still good, but which I found slightly lacklustre for Pixar).

Everyone leaves via RC. Buzz Lightyear is upset, but he still thinks he can fly. So he jumps out of RC and lands in the middle of Route 66, dead. Everyone gathers around and cries; they ruminate on the mysteries of toy life and discuss Hasbro. Then Ham makes a funny joke.
"Dude, this is totally not the time, you asswipe," says Slinky Dog.
"You talked!" Everyone screams.
But now is not the time. Bo Peep needs to get to pageant. But no one knows how to get there. So, Etch-A-Sketch draws them a map. They get there on time. Everything's going well. Then it's time for the talent portion. Bo Peep's Sheep come up with her, and she does a striptease to "Space Jam." All the other toys boo, but then Woody comes up and starts dancing. When Woody hits Bo Peep (accidentally, mind you), Mr. Potato Head comes up and arrests him.
"I'm the Sheriff! You're just a plastic tuber!" Woody shouts.
Woody goes to prison for 5-10 years, and the gang goes home.

God Toy Story 2 is so totally the best yall are cum garglers

A B C, Tuesday, 26 June 2007 17:28 (eighteen years ago)

I voted for Toy Story 2 (so I'm not a cum gargler!), but there should be some kind of rule against doing a sequel more than 10 years after the previous movie in the series. Especially when it's a kids movie and the target audience wasn't even born when the first one came out! Hell, by 2010 it'll be 11 years after Toy Story 2, even worse than when Tim Allen did the third Santa Clause movie more than 12 years after the first one.

Alex in Baltimore, Tuesday, 26 June 2007 17:55 (eighteen years ago)

They weren't necessarily connected statements

A B C, Tuesday, 26 June 2007 18:05 (eighteen years ago)

and yeah I thought the fifth-ninth grade gap between toy stories one and two was huge, this is ridic.

A B C, Tuesday, 26 June 2007 18:08 (eighteen years ago)

Nah, you're looking at it all wrong. There's a whole generation of tots now who've seen the first two Toy Story movies on dvd at least 100 times each, so when Toy Story 3 rolls out it'll just be a continuation. I mean, it's not like the characters will have aged or anything.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 26 June 2007 18:28 (eighteen years ago)

Or, there'll be a whole generation of tots who loved Finding Nemo or Ratatouille or whatever they're putting out next year, and the teenagers who grew up with the Toy Story flicks won't be as interested.

Alex in Baltimore, Tuesday, 26 June 2007 18:52 (eighteen years ago)

I'll be 36 when Toy Story 3 opens and I'll probably be there opening weekend. So fuck the kids and teenagers.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 26 June 2007 19:16 (eighteen years ago)

I'm not saying that Pixar movies aren't beloved by plenty of adults and teenagers, they are and way more than animated family movies traditionally have been, but they still need the youngster appeal to pull in the big big bucks (and justify a sequel like TS3). Finding Nemo was HUGE and I think a lot of that had to do with it skewing younger than, say, The Incredibles.

Abbott: It was definitely nice to see Toy Story 1+2 in 3D in the theater, especially since I never saw the second one. Admittedly, though, the 3D wasn't that great, since they weren't made for it in mind. But even Up had pretty mediocre/uneffective 3D use, too. Still, if you like the films, you might as well do it - it's cheap and in the theater!

I wonder how the Pixar employees under the head people really feel about it.

Original poll is incomprehensible to me. Seriously, The Incredibles by a 4x margin over either Toy Story? Crazy talk...

Okay there is a a lot of contention over the idea that A Bug's Life takes place post-apocalypse, but hear me out.

So what happens? Humanity, machines, and animals grow in harmony to the point where a new super species is born. Monsters. The monsters civilization is actually Earth in the incredibly distant future.

Where did they come from? It’s possible that the monsters are simply the personified animals mutated after the diseased earth was radiated for 800 years. [Not during Wall-E. I would guess that it took hundreds of years after Wall-E for the animals to become monsters] The alternative could be that humans and animals had to interbreed to save themselves. Gross, I know, but plausible since the lines between animals and humans are constantly up for debate in Pixar.

seems like a fall guy for lightyear's weak box office. after reading all the tepid reviews for it, i was kinda surprised how solid it was. it wasn't top tier pixar but it was fun. i feel like folks were more put off by the premise than anything, maybe. it's solid animated sci-fi.

It would be interesting to rerun this poll now. A couple of their recent efforts (Soul and Coco) have been quite good. And, of course, Up and Inside Out should rank very highly.
