I gather it'll be Prepon in a walk but I have no idea who I'm going to vote for yet. Also plz argue how much better/worse any of these people would be than Dunst as Mary Jane in the Spider-Man movies (especially Bonaduce).

i'm not sure why you think it'd be prepon in a walk when all the rest of those ppl are on the list

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Thursday, 21 June 2007 15:13 (eighteen years ago)

i mean honestly donna was like the lamest person on that 70s show

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Thursday, 21 June 2007 15:14 (eighteen years ago)

I remembered another one - Marilu Henner in "Taxi"! And Peggy Bundy in "Married With Children"!!

Tom D., Thursday, 21 June 2007 15:14 (eighteen years ago)

though ALL of them are better than kirsten dunst

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Thursday, 21 June 2007 15:14 (eighteen years ago)

argh yeah Henner! oh well. I probably wouldn't have included Peggy Bundy since it was a wig tho.

Lucy was dyed. (are any of those?)

Dr Morbius, Thursday, 21 June 2007 15:17 (eighteen years ago)

I don't like Vicki Lewis that much, but I'm tempted to vote for Newsradio just for that one episode with the great token redhead joke:

Beth: Tell them that there is a spunky redhead down here.
Joe: I don't know how to tell you this, but there's a spunky redhead in every office.

Alex in Baltimore, Thursday, 21 June 2007 15:17 (eighteen years ago)

isn't topher grace a redhead too?

henner wins for being in johnny dangerously

and what, Thursday, 21 June 2007 15:19 (eighteen years ago)

I Love Lucy was in b&w any way, not counting it for the same reason Ron Howard's nominated for Happy Days but not Andy Griffith. My poll, my arbitrary rules!

Alex in Baltimore, Thursday, 21 June 2007 15:19 (eighteen years ago)

Danny Bonaduce in "Breaking Bonaduce" would win in an angry-guy steroid-fueled walk.

i honestly have no idea how anyone can look at mila kunis and laura prepon side by side, especially in the context of that 70s show, and think "you know what? i will have a crush on laura prepon, and not this other girl"

though obviously the only person worth even talking about on that show is ashton kutcher, who is an amazing actor and a great person and very intersting.

the good half of Six Feet Under was a sitcom.

the Mom on That '70s Show belting out "Bad Blood" in the car is one of the funniest things I've seen on TV in 20 years.

(T.Grace is as funny as Kutcher too, just in a diff key)

Dr Morbius, Thursday, 21 June 2007 15:41 (eighteen years ago)

What the god damn hell, this poll is null and void without "I Love Lucy." Even though it was in B&W, there was constant banter between Lucy and Ethel about "my red hair"/"yeah dark roots, LOL".

Rock Hardy, Thursday, 21 June 2007 15:47 (eighteen years ago)

gordon shumway?

and yes alicia witt duhr

69, Thursday, 21 June 2007 15:47 (eighteen years ago)

Hardly any of these shows were shown in the UK. "ALF", "Happy Days", "Partridge Family" (I think), "That 70's Show" was on for about 2 seconds once

Tom D., Thursday, 21 June 2007 15:48 (eighteen years ago)

I'm sure Laura Prepon is a lovely human being and all, and I'm sure she is kind and loving and fair, and doesn't do hard drugs or neglect her responsibilities. I give you all that. But she has no business acting in any capacity, because she sucks at it, and even her character on That 70's Show was dull, and plz get over it all you redhead-big-boob-worshipers.

also, weirdly, this photo:

sorry, Laura P shot some great deadly looks on T70S, I guess reaction shots aren't real comedy; Oliver Hardy is fucked.

Dr Morbius, Thursday, 21 June 2007 15:54 (eighteen years ago)

ok did you just seriously compare laura prepon to oliver hardy?

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Thursday, 21 June 2007 15:55 (eighteen years ago)

-- Tom D., Thursday, June 21, 2007 3:48 PM

to be fair, most of these shows were only marginally popular in the US and/or lasted less than 4 seasons, so there are probably a lot of Americans that haven't seen any besides the ones you mentioned.

kenan, Thursday, 21 June 2007 15:56 (eighteen years ago)

I have a crush on redhead Laura Prepon and not on Mila Kunis (who looks like she's about 12 years old). I have had debates about this with jaymc before.

I agree Prepon is a pretty shitty actress though.

n/a, Thursday, 21 June 2007 15:56 (eighteen years ago)

I didn't say Prepon should win this poll, just that she probably will, mostly by virtue of (as I just alluded to) the fact that she's one of the only options that was actually a central character on a popular and long-running show.

Alex in Baltimore, Thursday, 21 June 2007 15:57 (eighteen years ago)

Tom D., Thursday, 21 June 2007 16:01 (eighteen years ago)

I think a lot of my preference for Donna over the other one was that Donna seemed like a cool kinda chick who'd be fun to hang out with, whereas the other one was really whiny and manipulative.

kingkongvsgodzilla, Thursday, 21 June 2007 16:02 (eighteen years ago)

I probly saw '70s Show maybe a dozen times, which is a lot. (when did I go to hi skule, hint hint)

and YES, Oliver Hardy's job was to react to idiocy, LP's the same. ie "straight man"

Dr Morbius, Thursday, 21 June 2007 16:03 (eighteen years ago)

it's Donny, not Danny Most.

Old Morbz jokes NEVER GETTIN OLD

Dr Morbius, Thursday, 21 June 2007 16:05 (eighteen years ago)

I don't think Mila Kunis is particularly attractive or unattractive, but I think most of the negative reactions to her are primarily based on her being extremely convincing playing extremely annoying, whiny characters like Jackie and the daughter on The Family Guy.

Alex in Baltimore, Thursday, 21 June 2007 16:08 (eighteen years ago)

morbius if yr gonna keep making ludicrious, "you have actually become a bot now y/n" claims like you're doing on this thread, it is free range to make as many ageist jokes as we like, because you're obviously going senile to be making these posts.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Thursday, 21 June 2007 16:11 (eighteen years ago)

Alicia Witt >> Laura Prepon
Michelle Rodriguez >> Mila Kunis

gabbneb, Thursday, 21 June 2007 16:12 (eighteen years ago)

"ludicrious" is a good coinage tho.

Dr Morbius, Thursday, 21 June 2007 16:15 (eighteen years ago)

when I have seen episodes of T70S, I have decided to crush on LP instead of MK, because one of them is TALL, and the other one is NOT, and yeah also red hair besides.

I will certainly agree that T70S is pretty damned lame. But mostly because of casting Topher Grace as the lead.

NewsRadio in a landslide, or most of you are just totally bonkers.

"old morbz jokes never get old" is a koan, isn't it?

Mila Kunis is not at all attractive.

of these, Lynsey Bartilson is probably the funniest, Alicia Witt is the hottest and none of 'em are great actresses (or actors, big ups to Danny B.) but Witt probably wins that too (I liked that movie where she was a pianist and Elliott Gould dropped acid).

I've kinda come around on Kathy Griffin because of her specials on Bravo (the bitchy celebrity-obsessed standup specials, not the boring reality show about her life), but Suddenly Susan is like the pinnacle of Must See TV Hell.

When I was practically unemployed for most of last year, I watched pretty much every episode of Boy Meets World (most of them for the 2nd or 3rd time), then went through the entire run of Grounded For Life, and then got desperate and started watching 8 Simple Rules. ABC Family is the best channel ever. (xp)

Amy Yasbeck is gonna be so bummed when she Googles herself tomorrow and sees the results of this poll.

Alex in Baltimore, Thursday, 21 June 2007 16:39 (eighteen years ago)

they made the show really confusing for casual viewers as they tried to keep it going. I lost the plot after high school and got really confused when Prepon was blonde and Kelso had a kid or something and never even vaguely understood what was up with Kunis and Masterson.

milo z, Thursday, 21 June 2007 16:39 (eighteen years ago)

yeah I definitely only really like Yasbeck in Men In Tights, her character on Wings was probably responsible for that show jumping the shark if it even had a shark to jump.

That 70's Show is kind of willfully mediocre, I watch reruns of it when I'm bored but not actively/enjoyably like I do with Simpsons/Seinfeld, but also not guiltily like with Friends where at some point I just go "ugh, why am I watching this".

Alex in Baltimore, Thursday, 21 June 2007 16:45 (eighteen years ago)

i mean it's about losers in high school in the midwest with the president of the federation as the dad and a big star theme song, it is surely a show meant for me. then the writing is just the absolute nadir of fox family-sitcom unfunny-insult-as-punchline bullshit, it just feels like a personal affront.

all the Desperate Housewives scare me. They are the best argument against plastic surgery and botox, but America just isn't listening.

milo z, Thursday, 21 June 2007 17:26 (eighteen years ago)

I used to think I liked Marcia Cross, but then I realized that every time that I'd thought she was hot I was getting her confused with Brenda Strong, who's been on a bunch of the same shows (Seinfeld, Desperate Housewives, Everwood).

Alex in Baltimore, Thursday, 21 June 2007 19:36 (eighteen years ago)

What about Britisher redhead comedy folk?

Siobhan Redmond in The High Life for teh win!

ailsa, Thursday, 21 June 2007 19:39 (eighteen years ago)

i honestly have no idea how anyone can look at mila kunis and laura prepon side by side, especially in the context of that 70s show, and think "you know what? i will have a crush on laura prepon, and not this other girl"

OTM, and I've barely even seen the show. I've said this many times, but she's like the 4th hottest person in that cast.

jaymc, Thursday, 21 June 2007 19:42 (eighteen years ago)

debra messing seems nice and all, but she gets beat by keri russell, easy

gabbneb, Thursday, 21 June 2007 19:43 (eighteen years ago)

not to mention kate walsh

gabbneb, Thursday, 21 June 2007 19:44 (eighteen years ago)

I have a crush on redhead Laura Prepon and not on Mila Kunis (who looks like she's about 12 years old). I have had debates about this with jaymc before.

:/

GUYS I GAVE YOU 23 MINUTES ON AN UNRELATED SCIENT0L0GY THREAD TO SUGGEST SITCOM REDHEADS FOR THIS POLL, IF YOU DID NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THAT SUFFICIENT OPPORTUNITY IT'S YOUR FAULT

Alex in Baltimore, Thursday, 21 June 2007 19:51 (eighteen years ago)

keri russell

a) is not really cuter than debra messing
b) doesn't even count, she wasn't on a sitcom

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Thursday, 21 June 2007 19:56 (eighteen years ago)

keri & debra = apples & oranges (and i wouldn't even think keri had any depth as a human being if she wasn't in that adrienne shelly movie)

get bent, Thursday, 21 June 2007 19:57 (eighteen years ago)

c) isn't a redhead! where does the comparison between keri russell and debra messy come from at all?

Alex in Baltimore, Thursday, 21 June 2007 19:59 (eighteen years ago)

answer: gabbneb is crazy

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Thursday, 21 June 2007 19:59 (eighteen years ago)

Kate Walsh would be the clear winner if Grey's Anatomy were a sitcom, gabbneb.

milo z, Thursday, 21 June 2007 20:11 (eighteen years ago)

GUYS WHERE'S SUSAN SARANDON, SHE'D WIN THIS EASY!!!

gabbneb, Thursday, 21 June 2007 20:14 (eighteen years ago)

occasional dye jobs don't count, gabbneb.

milo z, Thursday, 21 June 2007 20:17 (eighteen years ago)

that also barely qualifies as having red hair

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Thursday, 21 June 2007 20:18 (eighteen years ago)

srsly, where is red

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Thursday, 21 June 2007 20:19 (eighteen years ago)

granted that is by far the best photo of her on gis, she should straighten her hair and put in vaguely auburn highlights more often.

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Thursday, 21 June 2007 20:21 (eighteen years ago)

i'm preeeeeeeeeeeetty sure judging by the tone of his posts milo is being sarcastic towards space alien look

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Thursday, 21 June 2007 20:24 (eighteen years ago)

i mean correct me if i'm wrong, dear sir.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Thursday, 21 June 2007 20:24 (eighteen years ago)

oh man, I was curious to see if Kate Walsh had ever actually been on any sitcoms, and just looked it up and realized she was on the Drew Carey Show during that really weird story arc where she was his girlfriend and started out thin but gradually gained weight and eventually they had her in a giant fatsuit.

Alex in Baltimore, Thursday, 21 June 2007 20:24 (eighteen years ago)

guys, Blair Brown is 8080 but are you sure The Days & Nights of Molly Dodd was determined to be a sitcom by the pantheon of television gods? also, where is Jane Leeves? oh wait, is she really a natural redhead?

gabbneb, Thursday, 21 June 2007 20:59 (eighteen years ago)

she's not even a redhead on frasier for crying out loud. have you considered having your vision checked?

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Thursday, 21 June 2007 21:02 (eighteen years ago)

never mind, gabbneb, keeping your shit in check when an impromptu poll doesn't meet your strenuous & demanding standards of sweet fuck all

David R., Thursday, 21 June 2007 21:03 (eighteen years ago)

Trayce, Thursday, 21 June 2007 22:44 (eighteen years ago)

alicia witt was also in twin peaks (when she was a little kid). and one really good episode of hotel room (lynch's sitcom)

kingkongvsgodzilla, Friday, 22 June 2007 00:50 (eighteen years ago)

haha Bartilson at least got Ethan's vote! I was right about Yasbeck getting no love, even if I was way off about the winner.

I remember Vicki Lewis and Nick Nolte made some weird movie together that was supposed to be a musical but then it tested poorly so they just took all the songs out.
