It took them long enough, but the best reality tv show EVER is coming back in a few weeks. This season's designers are pretty accomplished (Rami Kashou!), and I remember a few of them from last season's auditions (Jillian & Steven)... there's not much to go by but so far I like:

is a "Balenciaga fringed scarf" like that not a staple of your wardrobe, tomboto?

Jordan Sargent, Friday, 28 September 2007 01:12 (eighteen years ago)

I'm not turning 30 until April dude, of course it is, along with my hot pink tights, gray sweater dress with hip pockets and flashy blazer. you know what else cool twentysomethings wear? emo hats.

El Tomboto, Friday, 28 September 2007 01:22 (eighteen years ago)

those lego brand shoes you just posted are going to be pretty essential this winter

HI DERE, Wednesday, 14 November 2007 18:50 (eighteen years ago)

yeah in selecting a series of almost-milfs and guys who would set off blips the size of skylab on the average gaydar I'm worried they might lose some of their crossover audience (e.g. me)

Wait, wasn't the dude with the artistic beard straight? I thought he said so when they were doing the mini interview.

I kind of like the sad dude who works in the flower shop. I think his name is Marion.

molly mummenschanz, Thursday, 15 November 2007 16:04 (eighteen years ago)

I am planning on not watching this

gabbneb, Thursday, 15 November 2007 16:20 (eighteen years ago)

Rami sucks
most of these people appear to suck or just be boring
I already miss Vincent

El Tomboto, Thursday, 15 November 2007 21:11 (eighteen years ago)

Tom I'm sorry there aren't more straight guys on the show for you to identify with

Also that was a sucky haiku

I thought that was a good first episode myself but then again I'm always Cap'n Don't Give Up On A Show You Have Enjoyed In The Past After One Episode, so feel free to discount the fuck out of my opinion

Dimension 5ive, Thursday, 15 November 2007 21:15 (eighteen years ago)

I'm going to keep watching, the first episode hasn't really revealed a lot of the crazy yet. I just know that Rami is boring based on what he made and that Christian seems more like a Keith than a Santino or Jeffrey so far. We'll see what he can get up to.

El Tomboto, Thursday, 15 November 2007 21:20 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah I think that dress was fine but I'm skeptical about what else he can do. OMG BEST PART: "She looks like she's pooing fabric!" Man, I've missed Heidi Klum.

Dimension 5ive, Thursday, 15 November 2007 21:22 (eighteen years ago)

Rami I mean.

Dimension 5ive, Thursday, 15 November 2007 21:23 (eighteen years ago)

the first episode hasn't really revealed a lot of the crazy yet.

i thought the lady who almost got the boot and had the blue dragon lady spandex dress was cuckoo in the coconut.

molly mummenschanz, Thursday, 15 November 2007 21:31 (eighteen years ago)

oh yeah she's awesome for sure. I hope she manages to stick it out until the final four tbh and really bother the kids straight-up vince style. moon rockets: http://www.elisaj.com/

El Tomboto, Thursday, 15 November 2007 21:36 (eighteen years ago)

Even thinking about Christian irritates me :/

Kevin and Steven both seem decent, but kind of -- err -- creepy.

remy bean, Thursday, 15 November 2007 21:49 (eighteen years ago)

christian has a lisp that could cut glass

pj, Thursday, 15 November 2007 22:04 (eighteen years ago)

I kind of like the sad dude who works in the flower shop. I think his name is Marion.

I kinda like him too... He's the Bradley of this season.

Elvis Telecom, Thursday, 15 November 2007 23:12 (eighteen years ago)

Rami's dress was really unflattering and.. safe. Yet again in a challenege that calls for creativity the judges choose the safest most boring gown (see: Keith winning the first challenge last season...). I think Chris' eggplant-coloured gown was the best, it's BEAUTIFUL. Victorya's was cute, as was Jack's (he reminds me of Robert Best from last season, hopefully he doesn't disappoint like Robert did...). Elisa is ridiculous.. Wendy Pepper 3.0 I guess.

Overall a pretty great first episode, we got to see what they could do right off the bat... those models are so fug though, ugh. And majority of them can't walk to save their lives...

The Brainwasher, Friday, 16 November 2007 10:24 (eighteen years ago)

I've got mad love for Chris the "bright-colored anything" guy because he took the dumb dumb "RUN FOR THE FABRIC" thing in stride and made an awesome dress anyway and because he makes clothes out of salad. And Sad Marion is totally awesome, too, and I want to fix him a nice steak because he looks anemic.

I think Jillian (she of the blue culottes) is going to be the "I always make the same dress I'm wearing" designer of this season (like Laura and that bubble skirt woman from last season). I HATED Christian's plaid jacket thing. If I like woke up wearing it one morning, I would chew my own arm off to get out of it. I really liked Carmen's design this time around. Ashley Rami's model is jarringly ugly.

Jenny, Friday, 16 November 2007 13:10 (eighteen years ago)

And maybe I'm just hanging out with more fat people these days and so have skewed perceptions, but did those models look even skinnier than normal? Some of them looked like their little legs were going to snap. It's jarring.

Jenny, Friday, 16 November 2007 13:11 (eighteen years ago)

I really liked last night's episode, though I must say I was rather disappointed by the guest judge. SJP the "biggest guest judge ever"?? Really?!?

Anyway, Victorya deserved to win, although she seems very one-note already (everything she had made, including the 3 outfits from the seaosn 4 showcase, has had like the exact same silhouette)... Elisa/Sweet P was awesome as well, loved the cape, though I wasn't really feeling the color of the dress... Ricky/Jack was also really good.. but Ricky seriously needs to STOP CRYING. I just want to, like, bitch slap him and tell him to GET IT TOGETHER. Marion was dead weight, not surprised to see him go...

The Brainwasher, Thursday, 22 November 2007 14:52 (eighteen years ago)

I am from another planet. I bring you gifts.

Maria :D, Thursday, 22 November 2007 15:53 (eighteen years ago)

I made my in-laws watch this with me last night.

Maria :D, Thursday, 22 November 2007 15:53 (eighteen years ago)

SJP probably has the most mainstream recognition out of any of their guest judges, except maybe N. Hilton. I generally have no idea who the guest judges are since pretty much everything I know about fashion I learn from Project Runway, but I watched enough Square Pegs as a kid that SJP will be familiar to me until I die.

I thought it was precious that Chris moved to NY because of Sex in the City. Also that he got weepy when she came in to the design room. However, I agree that Ricky is a bit too much of a puddle. And he wears stupid hats. Nice dress last night, though.

I was sad to see Morrissey, er I mean, Marion go although I agree that his garment was definitely the worst one out there. Christian's dress wasn't right for the challenge but it was well made and it was interesting and it did not look like a dirty Pocahontas costume from somebody's basement.

Elisa/Sweet P's dress really didn't do it for me. I wouldn't have had them in the final two to go home, but I didn't think it was that great. And as someone who is not tall and think with fawn-like legs, I completely disagree with one of the judge's comment that any woman could wear that dress. I mean, have you ever seen a fat lady in a clingy jersey knit dress? I have, in the mirror, and it ain't pretty.

Jenny, Thursday, 22 November 2007 16:23 (eighteen years ago)

the SJP entrance enthusiasm scene was rough. def reminded me of tyra audiance flipout over getting jars of vasaline.

i remember SJP on some fashion designer documentary called 'seamless' i think which seemed like it was essentially the precusor to PR so it makes total sense for her to be on this.

i liked how it was all, the winning design may be in the fall/winter line, just in case. lol

how could the burlap looking poncho thing be sportswear? i guess that is also my question about the elisa polymorphous shell thing(the piece under it was fine, deserved some praise i think)...idk, maybe i dont know shit as a straight dude but those are insane garments..

johnny crunch, Thursday, 22 November 2007 18:19 (eighteen years ago)

I thought Elisa's dress was really cool looking and was happy to see her do well cause now we get more spit-marking and polymorphous interplanetary bearing of gifts

christian's stuff has been mad ugly both weeks

dmr, Thursday, 22 November 2007 18:42 (eighteen years ago)

I'm glad christian got a smack-down. He's such an arrogant little prick that it was great to see him get all flustered and try to keep his arrogance as he was getting shot down "wait I want to hear was Sarah Jessica has to say!" He's obviously very talented, maybe he'll be *little* bit more likable now. It is also funny to think of kids like that who know that looks like that are super hip but really genuinely may be too young to realize just how much of a throwback it is. It's like going to Studio B and feeling old "hey I lived through the 80s." I like a lot of those looks and have always been glad to see them come back, it's great that hip young kids look like my ideal crush circa 1984, but there's a fine line between retro influence and a halloween costume.

dan selzer, Friday, 23 November 2007 18:08 (eighteen years ago)

Elisa is hot for 42, damn. And I think she might be putting us on a bit with the metaphysics.

wanko ergo sum, Friday, 23 November 2007 18:16 (eighteen years ago)

dressmaking as performance art

dmr, Friday, 23 November 2007 18:23 (eighteen years ago)

haha, dan OTM. i remember when they criticized christian for his dress being too "80's" and thinking "well, no shit, dude looks like he's a regular trash/rififi denizen"

impudent harlot, Friday, 23 November 2007 18:38 (eighteen years ago)

also i will miss sad, sad marion. he reminded me of whassname from last season (quiet, softspoken gay who mostly did menswear...blanking on name)

impudent harlot, Friday, 23 November 2007 18:39 (eighteen years ago)

i think elisa should have won that challenge... victorya's dress was cool, but not something i think an "average" woman could pull off without tons of help.

tehresa, Friday, 23 November 2007 19:01 (eighteen years ago)

I thought it was precious that Chris moved to NY because of Sex in the City

I thought it was pathetic. I mean, how could anyone over the age of 17 think that show was an accurate representation of real NYC life? Still, I don't dislike the guy. xpost

yeah in selecting a series of almost-milfs and guys who would set off blips the size of skylab on the average gaydar I'm worried they might lose some of their crossover audience (e.g. me)

OTM. These seems to be the least likable cast ever. I do have an inexplicable liking for Elisa.

Least favs:
Sweet P, Carmen, Christian

emilys., Tuesday, 27 November 2007 22:35 (eighteen years ago)

OTM. These seems to be the least likable cast ever

i don't like any of them. there is not even a good vilian to hate on. they just all suck. i hope they all lose

carne asada, Tuesday, 27 November 2007 22:40 (eighteen years ago)

If only Elisa had a chance to last more than two more episodes, I would love her.

Leee, Wednesday, 28 November 2007 18:06 (eighteen years ago)

i like stephen's personality, and was sad to see marion go.

remy bean, Wednesday, 28 November 2007 18:09 (eighteen years ago)

In 1996 Elisa's daughter Calliope was born. In 2004 Elisa was traveling in London with her daughter when a car hit her and her daughter. While Calliope walked away with only a few minor scrapes, Elisa was effectively dead for several minutes before being revived by the medical staff at Charing Cross Hospital. The accident left her with several disabilities, most of which have been rehabilitated in the last several years through yoga, the support of friends, and other methods, both mainstream and new age

emilys., Wednesday, 28 November 2007 22:08 (eighteen years ago)

Oh Sweet P. Oh my.

Jenny, Thursday, 29 November 2007 04:26 (eighteen years ago)

This picture of Elisa's design from Bravo's website is hilarious and terrifying:

Jenny, Thursday, 29 November 2007 04:28 (eighteen years ago)

part of me would really like to see tiki wear some of these disasters.

more critically though, i was shocked that so many designers used some shade of brown...i dont think i've ever seen tiki wear something dark brown, think it was look bad on him, and cant believe trained designers wouldn't be able to pretty quickly grasp this

johnny crunch, Thursday, 29 November 2007 04:35 (eighteen years ago)

was = would

johnny crunch, Thursday, 29 November 2007 04:37 (eighteen years ago)

he made a big point of how he wasn't afraid of color...and most people didn't deliver. I didn't like Kit's big cuffs, but the fleece blazer was kinda cool, though probably a bit too weird for the Today Show.

dan selzer, Thursday, 29 November 2007 05:07 (eighteen years ago)

Oh Sweet P. Oh my.

she busted out with A Gordon Cartrell design

carne asada, Thursday, 29 November 2007 16:06 (eighteen years ago)

i still like her the best

remy bean, Thursday, 29 November 2007 22:29 (eighteen years ago)

I'm really glad Elisa managed to pull off something passable and not halfway atrocious. I was worried for her, but she toned down the crazy (weird modesty excepted)

emilys., Tuesday, 4 December 2007 22:21 (eighteen years ago)

can't wait for drama tomorrow!

emilys., Tuesday, 4 December 2007 22:21 (eighteen years ago)

When I watched the video of Jack's outfit on the Today Show I thought momentarily that I might be sucked into a wormhole.

polyphonic, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 22:24 (eighteen years ago)

it was truly a horrible challenge

emilys., Tuesday, 4 December 2007 22:30 (eighteen years ago)

well it was a good challenge, they just mostly stunk at it

lolz that no one know who tiki barber was

dmr, Tuesday, 4 December 2007 22:41 (eighteen years ago)

steven reminds me of Karl from Sling Blade

carne asada, Thursday, 6 December 2007 16:40 (eighteen years ago)

I was sad to see Chris go, even though he totally deserved to.

OMG Donna Karan!!!

also, this season is a disappointment so far.

horseshoe, Thursday, 6 December 2007 17:01 (eighteen years ago)

the winning group last night had a pretty nice little collection

carne asada, Thursday, 6 December 2007 17:13 (eighteen years ago)

i really wanted ricky to be out last night and almost can not understand how he got on the show. like going back to the tiki challenge, i think if you gave him a month he could not make a suit.

johnny crunch, Thursday, 6 December 2007 17:20 (eighteen years ago)

I really thought Ricky should have gone home too. His outfit was considerably worse than Chris's, I thought. At least Chris's outfit fit his model, even if the weird jacket was old fashioned.

polyphonic, Thursday, 6 December 2007 17:23 (eighteen years ago)

i don't how that guy survived last night. i would be more interested in what chris could do in the ensuing episodes then ricky, who hasn’t shown he can even complete an outfit

carne asada, Thursday, 6 December 2007 17:33 (eighteen years ago)

While I'm not fond of what Ricky did, I still wanted to punch Victoria in the face.

I like how Elisa volunteered herself to go, as the "right thing to do." I'm warming to her and her cuckoo ways.

Yeah, the winning collection was pretty nice!

molly mummenschanz, Thursday, 6 December 2007 17:46 (eighteen years ago)

While Chris' outfit was just bad, I kept thinking, when Michael Kors was bitching: how does one make shoulder pads look good?

molly mummenschanz, Thursday, 6 December 2007 17:49 (eighteen years ago)

I think Chris's team was worse than Ricky's team, is the thing. so he kind of had to go. group challenges are such a bad idea.

horseshoe, Thursday, 6 December 2007 17:57 (eighteen years ago)

Chris's teams collection had a real starwars vibe going on

carne asada, Thursday, 6 December 2007 17:59 (eighteen years ago)

I really thought Ricky should have gone home too. His outfit was considerably worse than Chris's, I thought. At least Chris's outfit fit his model, even if the weird jacket was old fashioned.

thing is, they couldn't let Ricky go after the whole Victorya feud---she was really being an unfair cunt. Plus, Chris is a big, queeny costume designer and I think they got the feeling that he is just not really thinking fashion forward. I thought the two winning teams' collections were really nice, and it was nice to see Christian's team goofing and getting along so well.

Sweet P is growing on me. I like how she winces on the runway.

emilys., Friday, 7 December 2007 00:33 (eighteen years ago)

I totally want Elisa to win, but I sort of doubt it will happen. It will probably be Rami or whatsherface or Kit or Christian.

emilys., Friday, 7 December 2007 00:34 (eighteen years ago)

I also wish they hadn't eliminated that first chick, cuz she is hott

emilys., Friday, 7 December 2007 00:35 (eighteen years ago)

dammit, am I the only one watching this season?!

emilys., Wednesday, 12 December 2007 00:49 (eighteen years ago)

I missed last week's

dmr, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 01:07 (eighteen years ago)

if you're thinking strategy at all, then you should really recognize that you dont want to volunteer to be the leader in any team challenges.

i agree that Chris prob would have made interesting things going forward, the piece he made under the quarter jacket thing looked good and wasnt mentioned once, and i had the exact same thought about wtf do you do for shoulder pads to make it not hideous?

johnny crunch, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 01:38 (eighteen years ago)

Last week's was one of those weeks when I realized that the judges are not looking for the same things I'm looking for at all. I thought Chris's dressed looked like classy old hollywood ... the jacket was weird but I still thought the model looked great in the outfit, and it was impeccably made. Instead, they let Ricky stay, even though his outfit looked atrocious in so many ways.

polyphonic, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 06:32 (eighteen years ago)

yeah I just saw this one, rami and his team walking away with the win because they made the most boring shit possible, then winding up with chris and ricky on the chopping block = this season can eat my shit

I'm also really awfully fucking sick and tired of heidi klum.

El Tomboto, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 06:36 (eighteen years ago)

Rami's shit is so right up the judges' alley, it's like they got together and birthed him from Michael Kors' forehead.

polyphonic, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 06:52 (eighteen years ago)

now there's an image I didn't need. Yeah, Rami is obnoxiously perfect. But I did really like his team's collection.

emilys., Wednesday, 12 December 2007 22:06 (eighteen years ago)

Jack's confession speculation?

emilys., Wednesday, 12 December 2007 22:07 (eighteen years ago)

I already know it, don't search for spoilers.

Dimension 5ive, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 22:08 (eighteen years ago)

Isn't it that he's HIV-positive? Or has that already been confessed.

Alex in SF, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 22:11 (eighteen years ago)

Apparently he's dating the guy from Top Chef now. Dale, I think?

Alex in SF, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 22:12 (eighteen years ago)

I was thinking that maybe his HIV had turned into AIDS, or that a family member / close friend had passed away. But I guess I'll find out this evening. Everyone looks pretty bummed by the news, though.

polyphonic, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 22:14 (eighteen years ago)

I was thinking that maybe his HIV had turned into AIDS

that was sort of my guess. I wish it would be something scandalous related to the show itself.

emilys., Wednesday, 12 December 2007 22:17 (eighteen years ago)

That seems like a weird thing to announce on a show. "MY T-CELL COUNT HAS DROPPED BELOW ACCEPTABLE LEVELS. EVERYONE START CRYING NOW. ALSO LET ME WIN."

Alex in SF, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 22:19 (eighteen years ago)

His Bravo bio says that he's been open about being HIV-positive for years now.

Leee, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 22:21 (eighteen years ago)

D5 is right. It's super easy to find a spoiler on this.

Alex in SF, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 22:31 (eighteen years ago)

this season is so boring.

The Brainwasher, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 22:39 (eighteen years ago)

it needs to get better soon, ANTM is ending and then I'll have nothing to look forward to on wednesday nights :[

The Brainwasher, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 22:40 (eighteen years ago)

That last episode was a big improvement over the first three, though, if only for the quality of the top two collections.

Leee, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 22:45 (eighteen years ago)

Jack revealed he's HIV+ in either the second or third episode, so it isn't the HIV.

polyphonic, Wednesday, 12 December 2007 22:59 (eighteen years ago)

:(

There goes my favorite personality.

Tape Store, Thursday, 13 December 2007 04:02 (eighteen years ago)

(at least my favorite designer won)

Tape Store, Thursday, 13 December 2007 04:03 (eighteen years ago)

Poor Jack :( . I hope he's okay.

And yeah, it sucks that Steve got eliminated I love him but YAY CHRISTIAN.

The Brainwasher, Thursday, 13 December 2007 04:22 (eighteen years ago)

yeah, steven seemed like a really nice guy. too bad his outfit suxxed.

remy bean, Thursday, 13 December 2007 05:24 (eighteen years ago)

Even as a straight man who doesn't even mend his own clothes, I feel confident I could have made something better than Steve's dress. It was terrible.

polyphonic, Thursday, 13 December 2007 08:54 (eighteen years ago)

i'm glad steven is out. he was a little too nice, too eager to come with self-deprecating/i'm overwhelmed barbs. he had no personality at all though i did feel somewhat bad for him at the end referencing greta garbo, etc..he came off kinda pathetic.

this season is really set up with very few people i could see in the finals. think sweet p, chris, elise, ricky = no shot. think christian is a total lock to make it. that leaves jillian, kit, rami & kevin for 2 spots...at this point i'd say jillian & rami probably.

johnny crunch, Thursday, 13 December 2007 13:34 (eighteen years ago)

you forgot Victoriya (sp?)

Yeah, there is a pronounced gap between the bottom group and the top group.

Super Cub, Thursday, 13 December 2007 17:36 (eighteen years ago)

yeah huh. she's not bad. so like 5 for two spots...i guess that's not that bad actually.

johnny crunch, Thursday, 13 December 2007 18:19 (eighteen years ago)

aww

remy bean, Thursday, 13 December 2007 18:44 (eighteen years ago)

I have to admit I hated Jack at the beginning but quickly grew to like him. I don't know how long he needed to deal with his medical issues, it's too bad he couldn't just sit out one competition, he was good, right? Chris on the other hand, that was just sad, he's lucky Steven messed up so bad.

dan selzer, Thursday, 13 December 2007 19:04 (eighteen years ago)

ok, could someone tell me the top and bottom three?

i haven't seen it yet but i want to know because i guessed for the project rungay handbag contest and i know i got the winner/loser correct in my guesses...

but i don't want to do internet searching and spoil the episode too much.

JuliaA, Thursday, 13 December 2007 19:21 (eighteen years ago)

top 3:

christian (winner)
jillian
kevin

bottom 3:

wtf wasn't there a new episode this week?

emilys., Thursday, 20 December 2007 22:15 (eighteen years ago)

so did they cancel this season because it sucks or what

The Brainwasher, Saturday, 29 December 2007 21:39 (eighteen years ago)

sigh...my Elisa prediction was correct.
Rami boringly impeccable, as usual
Jillian's actually looked really cool--wouldn't have expected that

emilys., Thursday, 3 January 2008 22:10 (eighteen years ago)

errr

this season is really dud, but I'm keeping the dream alive

emilys., Thursday, 3 January 2008 22:10 (eighteen years ago)

I thought Rami's dress was outstanding!

The main problem is still that they chose accomplished designers instead of newbies. Everyone but Christian is treating the show like a networking opportunity / lovefest, and while that might be the best avenue to take, it's a little boring to watch.

polyphonic, Thursday, 3 January 2008 22:22 (eighteen years ago)

couldn't believe Tim said Sweet P's dress looked like a maxi-pad o_O

dmr, Thursday, 3 January 2008 22:27 (eighteen years ago)

agree this season is boring

dmr, Thursday, 3 January 2008 22:27 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah the personalities are dull, but the designs from this season are consistently the best I've seen from all four seasons.

Alex in SF, Thursday, 3 January 2008 22:29 (eighteen years ago)

Seriously there were 6 or 7 great designs from last night!

Alex in SF, Thursday, 3 January 2008 22:32 (eighteen years ago)

And everything looks so finished this year. Not a lot of bad hems or unintentionally-asymmetrical cuts this year.

polyphonic, Thursday, 3 January 2008 22:36 (eighteen years ago)

Ideally I would like more hysterical caddy interview bits along with the great designs, but Santinos and Jays don't appear to grow on trees sadly.

Alex in SF, Thursday, 3 January 2008 22:44 (eighteen years ago)

wait, is this on hiatus because of the writer's strike? because... lol.

gabbneb, Thursday, 3 January 2008 22:45 (eighteen years ago)

It's not on hiatus. There was a break because of the holidays that's all.

Alex in SF, Thursday, 3 January 2008 22:46 (eighteen years ago)

there's just not enough friction this year. like they're all too focused on the work to piss each other off! even when elisa had a chance to gloat and act a bitch to people she went and took a NAP? god.

but yeah a lot of the outfits last night looked pretty amazing. Chris should've won, I'm just glad he got a second chance after that crap team challenge though

El Tomboto, Thursday, 3 January 2008 22:47 (eighteen years ago)

and rami finally made something that wasn't dishwater, so that's promising as well

El Tomboto, Thursday, 3 January 2008 22:47 (eighteen years ago)

If Rami keeps making hangar-ready Banana Republic clothes like he did prior to this week, Kors and Nina will never give him a negative vote.

polyphonic, Thursday, 3 January 2008 22:50 (eighteen years ago)

I would love to see what Rami would make in a "dress yourself like a celebrity" challenge like they had last year

El Tomboto, Thursday, 3 January 2008 22:52 (eighteen years ago)

ricky stop crying

J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 January 2008 03:12 (eighteen years ago)

i like that the producers are making it a running thing tho

J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 January 2008 03:12 (eighteen years ago)

the skeezy french guy made it about 20 mins through the show before calling one of the underage girls sexy

J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 January 2008 03:51 (eighteen years ago)

ricky somehow keeps hanging on and it is inexplicable (though his chocolate week outfit was ok)

i am starting to root for sweet p a lot!

johnny crunch, Thursday, 10 January 2008 04:16 (eighteen years ago)

my fave 3 right now are sweet p, christian and jillian

J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 January 2008 04:39 (eighteen years ago)

J0rdan S., Thursday, 10 January 2008 07:12 (eighteen years ago)

oh i loved Kit's. i was rooting for Sweet P to win this week, though. also, Jillian is so pretty.

horseshoe, Thursday, 10 January 2008 07:18 (eighteen years ago)

I thought Rami's was pretty inappropriate for the occasion so I can see the judge hate for it. I don't think Kevin really deserved to go home (I guess he's this seasons Alison) esp. since Ricky has been consistently awful (which I guess would make him this seasons Vincent.)

Alex in SF, Thursday, 10 January 2008 17:47 (eighteen years ago)

Ricky does not turn me on.

Leee, Friday, 11 January 2008 17:18 (eighteen years ago)

Today's episode was excellent, Christian/Chris = OMG

The Brainwasher, Thursday, 17 January 2008 04:06 (eighteen years ago)

Rick sucks he should have been gone a long time ago

carne asada, Thursday, 17 January 2008 14:08 (eighteen years ago)

Rami should've gone...same dress he's made 6 times already but this time with weird things stuck to it.

dan selzer, Thursday, 17 January 2008 14:50 (eighteen years ago)

yeah him too he was the team leader and sweat pea actually out did him with her ready to wear dress. i just think ricky has been skating along too long

carne asada, Thursday, 17 January 2008 15:01 (eighteen years ago)

fuck -- christian's fucking dress was fucking WOW

Surmounter, Thursday, 17 January 2008 16:02 (eighteen years ago)

also loved sweet pea's casual thing.

rami's sucked and he sucks. stupid mistake kicking kit off (that was her name?), and ricky should be desiging for like, delia's.

Surmounter, Thursday, 17 January 2008 16:03 (eighteen years ago)

Kit wuz robbed - she should have stayed, if only because her prom dress last week wuz da shit.

generalmills, Thursday, 17 January 2008 16:17 (eighteen years ago)

yeah, i think ricky should've left. he's been consistently sub par.

and rami is such a diva. i'm tired of him.

molly mummenschanz, Thursday, 17 January 2008 16:27 (eighteen years ago)

her prom dress last week was so gorgeous

Surmounter, Thursday, 17 January 2008 16:40 (eighteen years ago)

Rami's made one thing I liked, but I did really like it so he's still better than Ricky who is garbage and annoying to boot. I can't tell with Sweet Pea, but I suspect she doesn't have a great design in her either. So far the only designers who have really consistently differentiated themselves are Christian and Jillian (and Chris, but more on personality than on design.)

Alex in SF, Thursday, 17 January 2008 16:44 (eighteen years ago)

yeah Ricky is awful. what a shock to see a snippet of him whining/crying next week...

johnny crunch, Thursday, 17 January 2008 16:46 (eighteen years ago)

Christian/Chris = OMG

They should have their own show of drama and insanity.

joygoat, Thursday, 17 January 2008 21:40 (eighteen years ago)

in my universe

sweet p
chris

are the winners

i really loved the punky black thing victorya made

remy bean, Thursday, 17 January 2008 21:43 (eighteen years ago)

(and Chris, but more on personality than on design.)

The avant-garde dress seemed like more Chris than Christian, and it was fantastic. Christian definitely earned his keep there (the commercial counterpart outfit was fantastic), but Christian knew he was winning that challenge as soon as he found out who his partner was.

I don't want to call Rami one-note because his candy dress was fantastic, and not like his other stuff, but he's a shithead and generally pretty boring. He's like Uli on extra-strong prozac.

Kit Pistol left too early and is mega-cute, but she wasn't going to win.

polyphonic, Thursday, 17 January 2008 21:46 (eighteen years ago)

I wish Jillian and Victorya would transfer to another reality show where we don't have to see them or hear from them until their stuff is done. They are insufferable, whiny, and very talented.

polyphonic, Thursday, 17 January 2008 21:47 (eighteen years ago)

Victorya I actually think is pretty mediocre. She's better than Elisa or Ricky, but that's about it. Her "win" was meh.

The coat that they made (and I am guessing Jilian had more to do with it than Victorya) was crazy good.

Alex in SF, Thursday, 17 January 2008 21:55 (eighteen years ago)

Victorya's had some misses, but her technique is good and she has a unique point-of-view ... a sort of cold, austere thing that compares nicely to the general exuberance of most designers, and has more POV than the middling ready-to-wear upscale stuff that Rami and Jillian focus on. She's upscale yet adaptable, but way more prone to bad ideas.

polyphonic, Thursday, 17 January 2008 21:59 (eighteen years ago)

I think you've totally missed Jilian's focus. I don't see her and Rami as alike at all.

Alex in SF, Thursday, 17 January 2008 22:10 (eighteen years ago)

Really? The sense I get is that she's a much more creative person than Rami in terms of shapes and techniques, but that essentially they both would be making classy, expensive chic if they had their druthers.

polyphonic, Thursday, 17 January 2008 22:12 (eighteen years ago)

I think she's much more focused younger ideas, less obsessive about sophistication and generally just less hidebound than Rami (ANOTHER WRAP DRESS HIYA).

Alex in SF, Thursday, 17 January 2008 22:14 (eighteen years ago)

I agree with all of that, but I think she's more like him than she is like the others. Maybe it's her demeanor, though.

polyphonic, Thursday, 17 January 2008 22:16 (eighteen years ago)

I can see that actually. Still she's created a number of the best things on the show (and her outfits for the team challenge have been consistently amazing.) I think her line would be interesting. Rami's will be boring as fuck.

Alex in SF, Thursday, 17 January 2008 22:18 (eighteen years ago)

jillian was a designer for ralph lauren right? that seems v. fitting for her but i do agree that she seems less stuck-up about impeccable high end couture & whatnot esp. when compared to rami

johnny crunch, Thursday, 17 January 2008 22:19 (eighteen years ago)

Rami is closest to Laura for this season with the single caveat that Laura never made anything have as interesting as the Hershey dress.

Alex in SF, Thursday, 17 January 2008 22:19 (eighteen years ago)

Laura designed exclusively for the aging women depicted in New Yorker cartoons.

polyphonic, Thursday, 17 January 2008 22:22 (eighteen years ago)

Rami designs exclusively OC housefraus and minor celeb red carpet types haha which is a minor improvement, I guess.

Alex in SF, Thursday, 17 January 2008 22:25 (eighteen years ago)

Bah fuck Ricky. At least they got person who should go home, right.

Alex in SF, Thursday, 24 January 2008 17:19 (eighteen years ago)

yeah, she just added some crap to an existing jacket

carne asada, Thursday, 24 January 2008 17:21 (eighteen years ago)

this show is so lame now.

The Brainwasher, Thursday, 24 January 2008 17:21 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah yeah we get it guys, you don't think it's good anymore.

Alex in SF, Thursday, 24 January 2008 17:33 (eighteen years ago)

it really isn't

The Brainwasher, Thursday, 24 January 2008 17:34 (eighteen years ago)

I'd say your posts used to be more insightful once too, but somehow I doubt that's the case.

Alex in SF, Thursday, 24 January 2008 17:39 (eighteen years ago)

LOL WOW.

The Brainwasher, Thursday, 24 January 2008 17:40 (eighteen years ago)

i was pretty worried that Jillian was going home because her coat was a mess, but at least she didn't steal the idea from Victorya, and she's been too consistently good through the whole season for them to drop her now. Victorya has kind of consistently come up short, I think. also, she is kind of a bitch so I'm not going to miss her.

Christian probably should have won last night but if they were going for somethign that Levi's could immediately reproduce and sell, I guess they made the right choice. I kind of felt like the previous week Chris did most of the design work on the piece that won and Christian got all the credit (and immunity).

akm, Thursday, 24 January 2008 18:12 (eighteen years ago)

god he was such a bitch in the sewing room, though. i wanted his mouth to be duct-taped together.

remy bean, Thursday, 24 January 2008 18:14 (eighteen years ago)

he is awful and self-aggrandizing and has a giant ego but so do most of them. anyway if jillian doens't win I'll be sad.

akm, Thursday, 24 January 2008 18:20 (eighteen years ago)

I think it's hard to predict who wins, because the challenges don't actually have much to do with designing a whole line (I wouldn't have predicted that Michael's line last season would be such a disaster. . . although I guess the writing was on the wall with his last challenge dress.) I would be shocked if Christian, Jillian and Rami aren't three of the finalists though.

Alex in SF, Thursday, 24 January 2008 18:26 (eighteen years ago)

I want Sweet Pea to win.

remy bean, Thursday, 24 January 2008 18:27 (eighteen years ago)

If it's four rather than three again this year, I think Chris sneaks in. I would be floored if Ricky or Sweet P last that long (or even another week frankly.)

Alex in SF, Thursday, 24 January 2008 18:28 (eighteen years ago)

i have a theory (which may have obv. holes in it):

all of the past winners were neutral during big fights and weren't totally and visibly in love with themselves.

therefore, i think sweet pea or jillian will win (my vote is for sweet pea).

molly mummenschanz, Thursday, 24 January 2008 18:35 (eighteen years ago)

Um Jay and Jeff weren't totally and visibly in love with themselves??!!?

Alex in SF, Thursday, 24 January 2008 18:37 (eighteen years ago)

And Jeff wasn't neutral in the "big fights"! He was the main reason for the big fights!

Alex in SF, Thursday, 24 January 2008 18:38 (eighteen years ago)

nawh, man. laura started those fights last season, and jay remained neutral during the keerowhateverhernamewas/other person fight.

molly mummenschanz, Thursday, 24 January 2008 18:41 (eighteen years ago)

i guess my point is: crazy fight/drama starters don't win.

molly mummenschanz, Thursday, 24 January 2008 18:42 (eighteen years ago)

Um what? Don't you remember the Mom Fight and all the schtick with Angela? Jeff was a total shit disturber. And Jay wasn't neutral. He just wasn't as nasty to Wendy as Kara Saun was. He was still VISIBLY in love with himself.

Alex in SF, Thursday, 24 January 2008 18:43 (eighteen years ago)

I don't think there is any rhyme or reason to who wins (except that I think Season 2 Chloe won mostly because they feared the show being too freakshow-ish if Santino--whose line was not that great--won.) Uli was a far safer choice last year than Jeff. It didn't do her any good.

Alex in SF, Thursday, 24 January 2008 18:45 (eighteen years ago)

angela's mom was insanely passive-aggressive. who could remain calm during that shit?

oh, wendy. that was her name. those crazy bitches were starting shit with each other the entire season. tbh, i don't remember that well.

xpost - yeah, i hope there is no rhyme or reason, really. last night, mr. pike proclaimed that victorya wouldn't get the boot b/c she added too much drama for the show, and they wouldn't kick her off.

anyway, i'm hungry and rambling. nevermind.

molly mummenschanz, Thursday, 24 January 2008 18:48 (eighteen years ago)

"angela's mom was insanely passive-aggressive. who could remain calm during that shit?"

He was pretty out of control nasty to her and he'd been vicious to Angela before that point.

Anyway I would be SHOCKED if Sweet P is in the final three because frankly she's not good (she does seem nice as does Chris--frankly they are the only two not complete egomaniacs left at this point.)

Alex in SF, Thursday, 24 January 2008 18:51 (eighteen years ago)

Sweet Pea has had two very solid designs the last two competitions. She may not be fashion-forward, but she makes appealling designs and executes them well. I can't really recall Sweet Pea being in trouble much during the judging, whereas Chris and Ricky have both narrowly escaped elimination (Chris got the boot once already).

Super Cub, Thursday, 24 January 2008 20:56 (eighteen years ago)

Solid, but unexceptional. She's been in or near the bottom a couple of times (she made the awful thing during the Hershey's challenge and then turned in a very meh garment, her Tiki outfit was pretty terrible, her oversized sweater thing was bleh although that was not entirely her fault.) I agree that Ricky is worse though and Chris is prone to terrible taste.

Alex in SF, Thursday, 24 January 2008 21:43 (eighteen years ago)

Ultimately despite being a less likeable human being Jilian does everything that Sweet P does better.

Alex in SF, Thursday, 24 January 2008 21:45 (eighteen years ago)

also, better legs

akm, Thursday, 24 January 2008 21:55 (eighteen years ago)

Jillian is totally hot but I trust Sweet P more in terms of delivering under a time crunch.

HI DERE, Thursday, 24 January 2008 22:02 (eighteen years ago)

Yeah Jillian could totally have a meltdown and blow it.

Super Cub, Thursday, 24 January 2008 22:10 (eighteen years ago)

sweet p lacks confidence in her work though, so for that reason alone I can't see her winning, or making it to the finals. She always does a pretty good job but she never seems like she's certain what she's doing is any good; working Rami and him being a gigantic dick to her didn't help any.

akm, Thursday, 24 January 2008 22:18 (eighteen years ago)

i dunno, i think she seems humble and real?

remy bean, Thursday, 24 January 2008 22:22 (eighteen years ago)

Um, she wasn't like that in the challenges I saw. She seems to be one of the only contestants who recognizes that her work is going to be viewed and judged by other people, so their input/feedback is important to contributing to a successful end product. Also, in the whole "Rami is a dick to Sweet P" thing, she was very solidly behind her everyday dress and rather unhesitatingly threw him under the bus for blanking her ideas, plus the judge feedback was all "yr everyday look is more fashion-forward than your avant-garde look". When TG criticized her denim wedding dress idea, she turned on a dime and delivered a design that impressed the shit out of the judges and was only out of contention for winning because it didn't look like an iconic Levi's look.

HI DERE, Thursday, 24 January 2008 22:38 (eighteen years ago)

The problem is that she's started two challenges by beginning a dress and then having to totally start over once it turned out to be awful. On the one hand I applaud her for "making it work", but the more seriously problem is that she made two things that were that UGLY and ill conceived to begin with. I don't think she's untalented at all, but she's yet to put anything out that has really "WOW" impressed me.

Alex in SF, Thursday, 24 January 2008 23:15 (eighteen years ago)

dan otm.

but i am hardly impartial; i has a srs crush on her

remy bean, Thursday, 24 January 2008 23:36 (eighteen years ago)

she's yet to put anything out that has really "WOW" impressed me.

This won't preclude her from getting to the finals though, especially if four are going. Actually, I'd be surprised if she doesn't make it to the final.

Super Cub, Thursday, 24 January 2008 23:38 (eighteen years ago)

If four are going it definitely might be her (I still think Chris has the advantage.) If it's only three I can't see her bumping Christian, Rami or Jilian.

Alex in SF, Thursday, 24 January 2008 23:46 (eighteen years ago)

Excepting the wonderful coat she made with Victorya, I have been really unimpressed with Jillian. She seems consistently whiny, fragile and unremarkable.

remy bean, Thursday, 24 January 2008 23:49 (eighteen years ago)

She's a punk, but seriously the twizzler's dress, the outdated fashion challenge stuff (which she was also "leader" for), the no longer overweight lady challenge dress, the coat (which she made entirely herself--Victorya did the riding pants nonsense), hell even this week's coat was great. She does good stuff.

remy bean, Thursday, 24 January 2008 23:53 (eighteen years ago)

She should have won that one - Nobody else actually used candy.

Super Cub, Friday, 25 January 2008 00:24 (eighteen years ago)

from the "tim's take" comment section:

However, the judges mentioned something about Ricky using the "flies" up the front. Maybe it was the front-and-center use of the so very iconic 501 fly that gave him the win? After all, the guest judge was from Levi. Maybe she had the greatest say-so who would win, and why. Maybe they had to pick an outfit that would seem very unmistakably "501" because what's-her-name wanted to be able to offer a limited edition of the outfit. I think I'm on to something here. I'm not convinced that all of the judges agreed on Ricky's win.

ricky lizalde, semiotician. everyone else seemed to interpret "iconic" as "make a classic design which becomes a fashion icon in its own right" but
ricky seems to understand branding pretty well. i'd say it was dumb luck of the doug-flutie-hail-mary-pass variety, but he had kinda the same idea in the hershey's challenge, with the kiss-shaped dress and even the scarf reminiscent of the paper tab that sticks out the top.

all of the past winners were neutral during big fights and weren't totally and visibly in love with themselves

i think it's ok to come in like that but you have to get over it by the end of the series, in a way that shows the designer was "made" on the show. it's not as much about how you interact with the other designers during the prelim segments but how you comport yourself in front of the judges, you know, professionally like in a board or presentation meeting. jay and jeffrey caught on i think but santino was always a defensive dick
when it came to judging.

jay and jeff both had heavy egos but were able to venture creatively outside of their street ouvre or whatever and pull off some successful high fashion pieces, like jay's chrysler building dress or jeffies' couture doohicky. rami, like austin and santino before him, is pulling a masada-like up your own ass stand in defense of brand rami. laura and uli were pretty much the same way but went through a last minute breakdown and redemption cycle during the last couple of episodes.

even if you come in the most talented or tasteful designer you can't go out the same way you came in no matter how many wins you have or else there's no story arc, no professional or creative growth while on the show, therefore you are not a product of the PR process and don't carry the PR brand, i.e. not the winnar.

slugbuggy, Friday, 25 January 2008 22:56 (eighteen years ago)

in summation:

ricky - consciously grasps or serendipitously stumbles upon the whoring for dollars nature of this season, generously compensated

rami - still doing rami, epic fail

slugbuggy, Friday, 25 January 2008 23:03 (eighteen years ago)

also, from tim gunn himself:

On the show, you hear me say, “It’s stunning,” and it’s true that I did say it, as in, “Fix all of this and make certain that it’s stunning.” The editors were stuck with a conundrum, because so little of what I said to Ricky (and I said a lot) could be used. In any case, I was baffled by the judges’ rhapsodic support of his design.

meaning PR invited levi's up for coffee; once in levi's slapped PR around and took what it wanted, and now PR's out on the front lawn in a torn frock and smeared lipstick giving the cops all kinds of false testimony because it's confused and frightened and ashamed, mostly. the bullshit editing to make it look like gunn adored ricky's crap garment, kors et al with the "he really pulled it together and you can see his experience finally coming through" equivocations, all lies, lies and more lies to cover for an abusive partner.

gunn is being very diplomatic as always, but it sounds like he's pissed at the producers for how they misrepresented his part in this travestty of justice and the way they rode roughshod over the goodwill of the american viewing public, god bless our souls. i know i'm upset for him, anyway.

possibly best episode yet.

slugbuggy, Saturday, 26 January 2008 01:56 (eighteen years ago)

wow, you are a little bit crazy

remy bean, Saturday, 26 January 2008 02:04 (eighteen years ago)

Had everyone else already seen the guy-on-guy version of the Levi's magic phone booth ad?

HI DERE, Saturday, 26 January 2008 02:09 (eighteen years ago)

yeah, i got all into the conspiracy theory aspect. it's a pretty dull season; this made it fun somewhat.

the salient and non-crazy point is i think ricky had one good idea on a crap garment, which worked very well for levi's because they could always clean up the design to make it less crappy yet retain the button-fly-as-plackert element for when they put it on sale on their own site, which is what they did. however, as far as PR is concerned, they were stuck with the actual garment ricky made, which on its own merits was not so good, outside of the one idea he had.

the editing of tim gunn's quote to misrepresent his viewpoint is the only real foul i think is substantiated, the rest is just speculative and hyperbolic riffing. i do remember reading something earlier in the season where gunn hinted at some point there was going to be an episode that would really outrage the viewers and put the judges credibility into question so i figured this was it.

slugbuggy, Saturday, 26 January 2008 02:36 (eighteen years ago)

i don't know if i was successful at editing out the crazy but i think i'd rather live in a world where what went down was better explained by corporate coercion and biased and unethical judging and falsifying the documents and evidence and whatnot than the fact that the judges actually thought that was a well-designed and worthy piece deserving of a win, esp considering everything he's made up to this point.

slugbuggy, Saturday, 26 January 2008 03:00 (eighteen years ago)

that would make a great show.

remy bean, Saturday, 26 January 2008 03:02 (eighteen years ago)

this week's episode: pornographers vie for influence with the contestants. who has the most easily subvertable ethical standards?

remy bean, Saturday, 26 January 2008 03:03 (eighteen years ago)

worst episode ever

only surprising aspect was that ricky didn't bawl

dmr, Thursday, 7 February 2008 17:23 (eighteen years ago)

thankfully he got eliminated. it would've sucked to see someone who could win get knocked out on a bs challenge.

J0rdan S., Thursday, 7 February 2008 17:26 (eighteen years ago)

sweet pea needs to pull it together

remy bean, Thursday, 7 February 2008 17:36 (eighteen years ago)

this was a very stupid challenge.
i didn't understand why everyone liked jillian's american gladiatior costume.

mizzell, Thursday, 7 February 2008 17:44 (eighteen years ago)

it didn't even make sense as product placement. assuming the WWE proposed the tie-in, why would they want to "advertise" on Bravo.

dmr, Thursday, 7 February 2008 17:52 (eighteen years ago)

If the end result of this challenge is no more Ricky, then praise be unto the Lord for the WWE and its whorish divas.

dmr, Friday, 8 February 2008 22:00 (eighteen years ago)

J0rdan S., Friday, 8 February 2008 22:00 (eighteen years ago)

Christian's collection is really boring and pretty much looks to me like every other thing of his that I've seen. If I see that jacket one more time... ech. (Alex is right, though; his pants are great.)

The one I am most surprised by is Chris! ESPECIALLY the dress Bianca is in!

HI DERE, Friday, 8 February 2008 22:05 (eighteen years ago)

rami's is very rami but so very good

i think he would have a chance to win off that collection if the judges had never seen him design before

J0rdan S., Friday, 8 February 2008 22:08 (eighteen years ago)

kind of like uli

J0rdan S., Friday, 8 February 2008 22:08 (eighteen years ago)

See, that's how I feel about Christian but I think he gets over a lot on his youth.

HI DERE, Friday, 8 February 2008 22:08 (eighteen years ago)

Rami's to me is the least interesting of the bunch (still better than most of Season 2 and 3.) Jilian's got some neat stuff, but Sweet P is doing the same thing better for the most part. Chris's Cruela Deville (sic) look is pretty sweet.

Alex in SF, Friday, 8 February 2008 22:19 (eighteen years ago)

Jillian's is too I AM SCARED OF COLOR AND PATTERNS for me, I think.

Alex in SF, Friday, 8 February 2008 22:21 (eighteen years ago)

Same with Christian's frankly. Also he's only got two or three looks in the whole line. Too same-y same-y. But great pants.

Alex in SF, Friday, 8 February 2008 22:22 (eighteen years ago)

i liked jillian's last dress

J0rdan S., Friday, 8 February 2008 22:23 (eighteen years ago)

her drab color thing is weird too because wasn't her first ever dress for the show BRIGHT ORANGE?

J0rdan S., Friday, 8 February 2008 22:23 (eighteen years ago)

btw i LIKE jillian's last dress, not referring to her american gladiators thing

Okay well fuck that. It's the third Sweet P look.

Alex in SF, Friday, 8 February 2008 22:31 (eighteen years ago)

rami's collection is kind of dull looking, nothing surprising there...chris march's looks old...nice clothes for annette benning but, you know. jillian's stuff is great but doesn't really look like a collection...

akm, Saturday, 9 February 2008 17:50 (eighteen years ago)

yeah, Chris' collection is no good... I think Sweet P's is my favorite

emilys., Tuesday, 12 February 2008 02:11 (eighteen years ago)

Jillian could have a great career in HR.

Yerac, Tuesday, 12 February 2008 02:47 (eighteen years ago)

hmm. I didn't watch the show.. I see Rami dresses borrowing Rochas silhouette from a few years ago, I think it's good just not my cup of tea. Jillian's collection.. things that are good are very very good and those that are bad, are horrid.. is she into proenza schouler?

I do not like anything Sweet P did.. or Chris.. ugh.. hot topic.

Christian makes a very sharp pair of pants and influenced McQueen I guess, and somehow things look unbalanced to me with many looks.. that last dress looks like too much McQueen + Nina Ricci..

daria-g, Tuesday, 12 February 2008 03:14 (eighteen years ago)

I mean Christian much influenced by McQueen, but I guess other references I miss, I just see the obvious

daria-g, Tuesday, 12 February 2008 03:15 (eighteen years ago)

I wouldn't be surprised if Christian wins, he is v talented, I am just bothered by how deadly serious his clothes look, esp the very top heavy looks, there's just too much. I felt like that watching a lot of NYC fashion week too.

I want a Balenciaga fringed scarf .. and some jackets and one of those floral armor outfits from spring 08. And actually out of all of Project Runway, the stuff I still think is the best is Jay's winning collection from s1. After that Kara Janx decoy collection, I liked that a lot too.

daria-g, Tuesday, 12 February 2008 03:31 (eighteen years ago)

The problem with Christian is that every fucking thing he did looks exactly like that.

HI DERE, Tuesday, 12 February 2008 03:40 (eighteen years ago)

I really loved the Project Runway Canada collections more than 80% of the 4 american seasons.

Yerac, Tuesday, 12 February 2008 04:45 (eighteen years ago)

SWEET P 4 EVAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

J0rdan S., Thursday, 14 February 2008 03:58 (eighteen years ago)

omg i was in a restaurant in chelsea and this was on and when she got cut the whole place gasped!
it was really quite sweet.

tehresa, Thursday, 14 February 2008 05:01 (eighteen years ago)

not fair to Sweet P. Oh we're getting rid of 2 people...no, really just one. Her dress was nice but not special enough. Still, it's bullshit to call bullshit on Rami for draping. Of course he's always done that but for the first time they gave him an assigment that practically screamed DO DRAPING and I have to admit he did something different then the other drapingy things. Sure it wasn't showy enough, but it was nice. Nobody yelled at Jillian for making a stern jacket. And over the history of the show, Chris made 2 hot outfits that were the same, one of which with Christians help, a few over the top costumes that were great and a few total duds, and was kicked off. I really don't think he should've faired as well. And all that talk about how wearable Christian's outfit was...couldn't he have just toned down those sleeves?

dan selzer, Thursday, 14 February 2008 05:05 (eighteen years ago)

way to be inspired by stuff that already looks like what you've been making all along anyway, everybody. not to mention the fact that it wasn't the art itself so much that inspired, and everything that entails, but specifically what the art was wearing.

slugbuggy, Thursday, 14 February 2008 09:38 (eighteen years ago)

Sweet P's dress was awful though. For someone whose actual collection showed pretty good taste, she made a number of consistently poor decisions during these challenges.

Alex in SF, Thursday, 14 February 2008 16:52 (eighteen years ago)

I loved Jillian's jacket. actually the more I look at her collection the more I like it. she's impeccable on the show too..

daria-g, Thursday, 14 February 2008 16:53 (eighteen years ago)

also re: Chris and Rami collections, I *hate* red and black together..

daria-g, Thursday, 14 February 2008 16:57 (eighteen years ago)

at least sweet P will win fan favorite and get the $10,000

carne asada, Thursday, 14 February 2008 16:58 (eighteen years ago)

I thought Christian's design was very good (again). He's arguably the most consistently adaptable and talented designer the show has had.

Alex in SF, Thursday, 14 February 2008 16:58 (eighteen years ago)

I kept thinking Christian's looked like something out of El Topo or Holy Mountain. Maybe it was the hat.

Dan I'm surprised you're going to bat for Rami, dude is sooo boring. Just let him go back to his own business that he already has and making 1,000 variations on the same dress. Nothing wrong with that, really, it's just not interesting!

thought Jillian's was probably the best

dmr, Thursday, 14 February 2008 17:00 (eighteen years ago)

"I kept thinking Christian's looked like something out of El Topo or Holy Mountain. Maybe it was the hat."

Not even remotely a bad thing.

Alex in SF, Thursday, 14 February 2008 17:16 (eighteen years ago)

yeah not meant as a criticism at all, some other comments appeared while I was typing!

dmr, Thursday, 14 February 2008 17:16 (eighteen years ago)

agree on Jillian the best. I watched the video of hers and realized the last look that I thought was a long gold dress was actually trousers, even cooler than I thought. Rami's last two dresses were great but totally I've seen those already from Rochas.

Christian I think too obvious McQueen going on? There's something about his stuff that sort of seems.. I don't know, it's so much edgy, avant-garde etc that somehow it actually isn't at all.

daria-g, Thursday, 14 February 2008 17:17 (eighteen years ago)

agree on Jillian the best.

(fwiw I was only talking about last night's ep, I haven't looked at the fashion week stuff)

dmr, Thursday, 14 February 2008 17:33 (eighteen years ago)

Rami has made a couple of dresses that weren't the standard Rami dress (candy dress, jeans dress), and that's when he's seemed the most exciting. If getting swatted on the nose in this round helps him put together a more creative final line, he could easily put together the best collection.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with this final four. I don't think they eliminated anyone whose perspective I'll miss much.

polyphonic, Thursday, 14 February 2008 17:37 (eighteen years ago)

Rami made a few non-draped things that were really sharp. I don't love the guy or anything, I just think he got a bad deal on that last one. How can you be like "hey drape guy, here we are in a room filled with the ancient art of draping, now look around and see if anything inspires you" then get mad at him for draping!

For the record I've been routing for Jillian since the beginning, even if she can be a bit whiny. It may partially be because I'm attracted to her.

dan selzer, Thursday, 14 February 2008 17:38 (eighteen years ago)

How can you be like "hey drape guy, here we are in a room filled with the ancient art of draping, now look around and see if anything inspires you" then get mad at him for draping!

hahaha I guess so, but every contestant saw "you're playing-it-too-safe" coming from miles away, including him, and he did it anyway

dmr, Thursday, 14 February 2008 17:41 (eighteen years ago)

Dan Everyone else on this thread I'm surprised you're going to bat for Rami Christian, dude is sooo boring. Just let him go back to his own business that he already has design school and making 1,000 variations on the same dress pant suit. Nothing wrong with that, really, it's just not interesting!

HI DERE, Thursday, 14 February 2008 17:45 (eighteen years ago)

that took a lot of crossing out

dmr, Thursday, 14 February 2008 17:53 (eighteen years ago)

eh, not really

HI DERE, Thursday, 14 February 2008 17:54 (eighteen years ago)

I dunno, Rami just bugs me. possibly stemming from the ep where he went off on Sweet P (although she did probably deserve to get the ax yesterday)

dmr, Thursday, 14 February 2008 17:57 (eighteen years ago)

I think you are short-selling Christian's ability to make dresses. Also his pants are a lot better than Rami's draping shit.

Alex in SF, Thursday, 14 February 2008 18:00 (eighteen years ago)

I think I am noticing that Christian's dresses look just like his pant suits.

daria-g, Thursday, 14 February 2008 18:20 (eighteen years ago)

Christian is one of these guys who's perfect for Project Runway but maybe not for his own line. Dudes like Jay McCarroll, Michael Knight, Daniel Vosovic ... they can make anything and under any circumstances, especially the sort of academic exercises they encountered recently in school. But they either don't have a refined vision for their personal work, or they don't have the maturity to develop it as a business, or both. Jillian and Rami are more commercially viable, and Jillian is Christian's equal in terms of consistency and innovation in the PR setting.

Chris seems to be this year's Austin Scarlett. I question whether he even wants to be a clothing designer at all. I think he's a fine artist, and that isn't really what this show is about. He's capable of making ready-to-wear, but does he even want to?

polyphonic, Thursday, 14 February 2008 18:26 (eighteen years ago)

christian's look was amazing. sweet pea is beautiful, too bad she had to go.

okay i'm relieved pppl agree with me. fuck his life since he was 3, who gives a flying fig. chris's looks made an imprint. and they were BEAAAAUUUUUTIFULLY made.

sucks.

and that one spiraly dress coulda been better.

Surmounter, Thursday, 28 February 2008 14:09 (eighteen years ago)

chris' "velvet condom" dress was pretty awesome.

Surmounter, Thursday, 28 February 2008 14:10 (eighteen years ago)

You guys mean Chris or Christian? (I didn't see the show.)

HI DERE, Thursday, 28 February 2008 14:54 (eighteen years ago)

Chris. it was a showdown between chris and rami for the last Bryant Park spot

carne asada, Thursday, 28 February 2008 14:58 (eighteen years ago)

yeah i was crushed. cuz i actually expected chris to lose, based on the few garments you got to see when tim visited all of them. but in the end i just wasn't as impressed with rami's vision. kinda boring. i liked the coat but not enough.

Surmounter, Thursday, 28 February 2008 15:10 (eighteen years ago)

chris' "velvet condom" dress was pretty awesome

she really couldn't walk though

but some of his stuff was cool

but on the other hand it was covered with hair

dmr, Thursday, 28 February 2008 17:41 (eighteen years ago)

I think my favorite part of the episode was seeing chris' friend's crazy apartment

dmr, Thursday, 28 February 2008 17:42 (eighteen years ago)

yeah, that was ... fierce

remy bean, Thursday, 28 February 2008 17:42 (eighteen years ago)

hahahahaha exactly

Surmounter, Thursday, 28 February 2008 17:45 (eighteen years ago)

fuck all of them so grossed out by hair. They all wear fur and leather. I don't think Chris had to slaughter anyone to get his hair. People wear wigs with real human hair...

Anyway, we had to pause the DVR when they showed the view from Jillian's apt to try to figure out where she lived. Figuring the view, we figured the very bottom of Long Island City, one of the new buildings, and she's an italian girl from "the island" and basically the only people who live in those buildings are people who work and make good money in midtown and/or are from Long Island. A little online research confirmed this.

And no, I'm not stalking Jillian, but proud of her to represent the borough.

I have to say though, I think they ALL got carried away by the influence of the last challenge. I liked all their designs better BEFORE they figured everything should be inspired by that goddamn museum visit...ruffles over your head, joan of arc, middle age knight armor...

dan selzer, Thursday, 28 February 2008 17:49 (eighteen years ago)

I didn't think anyone was that grossed out by the hair, they took it pretty well. even Chris was like "I used it cause it's creepy."

dmr, Thursday, 28 February 2008 17:54 (eighteen years ago)

yeah, I guess yr right, though Tim did start to gag.

dan selzer, Thursday, 28 February 2008 17:56 (eighteen years ago)

surprised by the love for chris both here and in the text message poll. the only impresssion it made on me was "ugh, that's hideous"

I want Jillian to win, though Sweet P's is my favorite collection. bummer her peacock dress was weak.

mizzell, Thursday, 28 February 2008 18:00 (eighteen years ago)

rly? even the three he chose to show the judges?

i haven't seen sweet pea's line! thing is, i think she shoulda gotten through instead of Rami. i just think Rami kind of sucks. his stuff seems too labored and romantic without enough sheer talent. ::shrugs:: the whole scene at jillian's house was too sweet. she's pretty rad. i hope she can be a little crazier with her final designs. still want christian to pull it out, though i question his organza-esque final look, with the ruffles. just seems too similar to the avant-garde dress he designed with chris, but i don't know. those ruffled pants! omg.

Surmounter, Thursday, 28 February 2008 18:23 (eighteen years ago)

yeah, i don't know. i like rami. i think he has a lot of talent. chris does too. but all that velvet and hair was gross. found nothing appealing about it.

mizzell, Thursday, 28 February 2008 18:33 (eighteen years ago)

I got really bored with this when my friend told me who won the week of fashion week (works at Weinstein). No spoiler though, I am not that bitter.

Sad that Chris March didn't make it to the "final" - he was at least doing something pretty interesting.

3underscore, Thursday, 28 February 2008 21:40 (eighteen years ago)

but on the other hand it was covered with hair

J0rdan S., Thursday, 28 February 2008 21:42 (eighteen years ago)

it basically came down to chris wanting to win or chris wanting to preserve his "artistic vision". he chose the latter, kept the hair and lost. dummy.

J0rdan S., Thursday, 28 February 2008 21:43 (eighteen years ago)

chris wasn't going to win anyway and he showed at bryant park anyway so in the end it's not worth worrying about

J0rdan S., Thursday, 28 February 2008 21:44 (eighteen years ago)

WHAT IS

Surmounter, Thursday, 28 February 2008 22:19 (eighteen years ago)

whether or not he should have beat rami

J0rdan S., Thursday, 28 February 2008 22:20 (eighteen years ago)

rami that arab romantic, ugh he's way too meaningful

Surmounter, Thursday, 28 February 2008 22:30 (eighteen years ago)

Jillian's "I'm so awesome" schtick has doomed her. BTW, she totally looks like a muppet, anyone know which one?

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v81/plechazunga/tybe/projrun/06-jillian-hair.jpg

Leee, Sunday, 2 March 2008 19:47 (eighteen years ago)

guys, someone pls explain to me how all 5 designers showed at bryant park? I thought it was just supposed to be the Final 3?

sunny successor, Monday, 3 March 2008 18:37 (eighteen years ago)

i don't get this either

carne asada, Monday, 3 March 2008 18:39 (eighteen years ago)

They do this every year. Since there's a lag between when Fashion Week happens and when they decide which designers get to show during Fashion Week on the televised show, they show collections from all of the designers still in the running so as to avoid spoiling who the final three are. It's never been clear to me as to whether the collections shown by the designers who lost out on the show are real, actual collections or dummy collections; I'd like to think the former but I don't know.

HI DERE, Monday, 3 March 2008 18:46 (eighteen years ago)

i can't imagine that they'd do dummy collections. i mean if i was someone "showing" at bryant park even though i had lost i wouldn't want my name attached to a collection that i didn't make, but they couldn't announce who had dummy collections bcuz that would obv spoil it. this is why i never got the fuss over like "making the final 3", i.e. in this season 5 ppl showed at bryant park to the same audience but only 1 will win, so the only diff between the two "losers" and the two who didn't show (chris + sweet p) is that they don't get shown on tv?

J0rdan S., Monday, 3 March 2008 18:49 (eighteen years ago)

chris wasn't going to win anyway and he showed at bryant park anyway so in the end it's not worth worrying about

^^what i meant when i said this

J0rdan S., Monday, 3 March 2008 18:50 (eighteen years ago)

I think the fuss of "making the final 3" is that you still have a chance to win the cash prize at the end of the show.

HI DERE, Monday, 3 March 2008 18:56 (eighteen years ago)

do the contestants know this? i mean when they get down to the challenge before bryant park there is always someone boo-hooing about how terrible it would be to come this far and not show at NY fashion week.

sunny successor, Monday, 3 March 2008 18:56 (eighteen years ago)

This is why I tihnk there's a chance that those aren't their actual collections.

HI DERE, Monday, 3 March 2008 18:58 (eighteen years ago)

(Except for that is def. Chris's collection in that link.)

HI DERE, Monday, 3 March 2008 18:59 (eighteen years ago)

nah the decoy collections are definitely those designers' real work

they're just not in the running for the $100,000

dmr, Monday, 3 March 2008 19:06 (eighteen years ago)

oh BTW, big article in the Financial Times Magazine about how DRAPING IS REALLY IN NOW. and it wasn't even tied to rami at all.

Surmounter, Monday, 3 March 2008 19:28 (eighteen years ago)

Not even a mention? NO WAY

HI DERE, Monday, 3 March 2008 19:30 (eighteen years ago)

okay i didn't read the whole thing but it was definitely highlighting other "important" established designers' work with draping. ur right tho it had to have mentioned him somewhere

Surmounter, Monday, 3 March 2008 19:31 (eighteen years ago)

Jillian is a cutey. I love when they showed photos of her as a kid and it's like omg she is still wearing those fucking Mork suspenders.

nickalicious, Monday, 3 March 2008 19:58 (eighteen years ago)

haha Christian's collection looks like it was stolen from a Star Trek Voyager extras' wardrobe.

nickalicious, Monday, 3 March 2008 20:02 (eighteen years ago)

oh no, i'm worried for him.

jillian is very pretty! i love how she styles herself. makeup is always so nice.

Surmounter, Monday, 3 March 2008 20:04 (eighteen years ago)

I don't see how any journalist can, in good conscience, write an article about draping trends in garment design and not mention a guy who might be the third-place contestant on a reality program.

HI DERE, Monday, 3 March 2008 20:45 (eighteen years ago)

i know i'll have to look at it again. thinking back now, i like the 3 looks he presented more. that pocadot dress (however the fuck u spell pocadot!) was real cute.

Surmounter, Monday, 3 March 2008 21:47 (eighteen years ago)

polka dot right?

J0rdan S., Monday, 3 March 2008 21:51 (eighteen years ago)

poke-a-dot

J0rdan S., Monday, 3 March 2008 21:51 (eighteen years ago)

Surmounter, I would like to introduce you to my good friend Sarcasm. You may not yet be acquainted with each other...?

HI DERE, Monday, 3 March 2008 21:52 (eighteen years ago)

haha, i get it now :-)

well i don't know! i'm just reading your text! i'm very gullible.

poke-a-dot =P

Surmounter, Monday, 3 March 2008 21:54 (eighteen years ago)

no but i was annoyed b/c i was getting sick of alll the draping, and then i see an article wholeheartedly endorsing it, without even referencing the show. it just furthers his cause, and i fear the finale will be one big DRAPE :-)

Surmounter, Monday, 3 March 2008 21:55 (eighteen years ago)

so i guess no one cares about how awesome tonight was and how posh spice had tears in her robotic eyes, huh.

the schef (adam schefter ha ha), Thursday, 6 March 2008 04:59 (eighteen years ago)

Not particularly, the boring twat with one great dress won.

HI DERE, Thursday, 6 March 2008 05:31 (eighteen years ago)

Deserved to win a SMACK

HI DERE, Thursday, 6 March 2008 06:45 (eighteen years ago)

he romped through the competition and had a good not great collection

J0rdan S., Thursday, 6 March 2008 06:51 (eighteen years ago)

i mean jillian's was good and rami had no shot bcuz his collection was way too rami

J0rdan S., Thursday, 6 March 2008 06:51 (eighteen years ago)

Whatever, Christian's collection was amazing.

Super Cub, Thursday, 6 March 2008 07:05 (eighteen years ago)

I liked Jillian's and Christian's a lot, but Rami's just seemed very boring to me until they started showing the details. From far away, all I could see was the bad color choices and the boring robo-babe vibe.

polyphonic, Thursday, 6 March 2008 07:05 (eighteen years ago)

I really liked Rami's (maybe because i like primary colors), but they always have to go with the more exciting, emerging designer. That happened on the Canadian PR version. Jillian's was ok, but there were no wow pieces and she is just a really really dull personality to try to market.

Yerac, Thursday, 6 March 2008 13:47 (eighteen years ago)

although, i think if she were my coworker I would talk shit about her for a year and then become best friends with her.

Yerac, Thursday, 6 March 2008 13:49 (eighteen years ago)

christian's line was monotonous. he used 2 colors, and all his feathers were heavy-handed and oddly fitted, and just too reminiscent of his evening gown masterpiece from a while back.

jillian's collection was exquisitely tailored. and i have to say i didn't mind rami's work at all, i thought it was quite nice, even though some of the pieces looked pretty amateur.

Surmounter, Thursday, 6 March 2008 14:17 (eighteen years ago)

i definitely wanted christian to win, until i saw his line. it was just so DUH, from him. he could have done something a lot more engaging.

sucks that judges never choose the right person on these crappy shows!

Surmounter, Thursday, 6 March 2008 14:18 (eighteen years ago)

I would like to punch Christian so hard that his hair becomes sensible.

HI DERE, Thursday, 6 March 2008 14:48 (eighteen years ago)

dude,yes!!

carne asada, Thursday, 6 March 2008 14:58 (eighteen years ago)

wow I had a totally different take no this than anyone else I guess.

they always have to go with the more exciting, emerging designer

Santino lost, so this isn't true. I think they usually trend toward the safe, picking the person who will have the most commercial appeal. So for that reason, i was really surprised Christian won, because his work was so high fashion.

I really like Jillian's stuff but her collection didn't hang together as well as the others. Rami's collection was awesome, I don't get the complaints about his colour choices, I was shocked he didn't win. But Christian deserved it, he never did anything bad the entire season, and the kid is freaking 21 years old. He's maybe the first person ever on this show that seems like they have a real chance at being a big name designer and not 'head designer at banana republic for a year' or something (speaking of which, there was no sponsorship like that this year, was there? BR did at least one year and last year was Macy's...)

akm, Thursday, 6 March 2008 15:28 (eighteen years ago)

in fact,I think the sponsorship this year was by Tresemme, wasn't it? So maybe they all picked Christian because of his hair, and Rami was going to have no chance becuz BALD.

akm, Thursday, 6 March 2008 15:36 (eighteen years ago)

BlueFly

carne asada, Thursday, 6 March 2008 15:37 (eighteen years ago)

oh right. isn't bluefly an aftermarket discount online shop?

akm, Thursday, 6 March 2008 15:37 (eighteen years ago)

I think I would have liked Christian's collection more if:

a) Everything wasn't black and beige. Black and silver? Yes. Black and white? Yes. Black and any other fucking color besides beige? Yes.
b) Fewer ludicrous hats.
c) Everything was as visually arresting as that long feathered dress. Most everything else was, within that paradigm, completely anonymous; he went beyond "cohesive" and into "oh look I just made the same garment six times".
d) He had sent down just ONE piece that didn't have those stupid shoulderpad-looking poofs on them. Stop trying to make your models look like Anorexic He-Man, you douche.

HI DERE, Thursday, 6 March 2008 16:01 (eighteen years ago)

one of them looked like a scarecrow

carne asada, Thursday, 6 March 2008 16:03 (eighteen years ago)

Anorexic He-Man Scarecrow (wasn't this an 80s SNL skit?)

HI DERE, Thursday, 6 March 2008 16:04 (eighteen years ago)

ya. mostly agree with you here. you have to be a fucking amazing designer to use 2 colors. whatever colors. i didn't even like the long feathered dress tho. we get it, you can make a ruffled dress. WOW FUCK GET OVER IT.

some of those hats were gross. that one with like feathers stickin off it was awful.

and yea TOTALLY with you on (c). black outfits, skinny jeans WOW HOW INNOVATIVE.

Surmounter, Thursday, 6 March 2008 16:06 (eighteen years ago)

haha my friends called it the scarecrow outfit too

although that neck piece thing was totally hot

Surmounter, Thursday, 6 March 2008 16:07 (eighteen years ago)

Christian is kind of a Chris Kattan SNL skit come to life, isn't he?

HI DERE, Thursday, 6 March 2008 16:08 (eighteen years ago)

haaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Surmounter, Thursday, 6 March 2008 16:09 (eighteen years ago)

eww honestly i was so disappointed. and then you have Posh in the front row wearing that AWESOME PINK thing and all you're thinking is, why didn't ONE Of them get bold enough to try something like that? it was all too textbook and bla.

Surmounter, Thursday, 6 March 2008 16:10 (eighteen years ago)

I love Christian. I wasn't too wowed by photos of his clothes, but when I saw them moving down the runway, I was. Jillian had a couple of really great pieces and Rami too. The competition was really close - I think in the end they probably did go with him because he'll make a better PR person for them. "Fierce" is practically a brand already. If you look at the total season, he deserved to win.

Maria :D, Thursday, 6 March 2008 18:09 (eighteen years ago)

Christian IS fucking fierce.

Curt1s Stephens, Thursday, 6 March 2008 18:11 (eighteen years ago)

ban fierce

carne asada, Thursday, 6 March 2008 18:18 (eighteen years ago)

Or punch it in the chicken neck.

HI DERE, Thursday, 6 March 2008 18:22 (eighteen years ago)

They pretty clearly never go with the safe choice (season 2 is the exception, but that was a choice between three safe choices--mostly due to Santino losing his nerve it seems) so anyone who is surprised that Christian won hasn't watched past seasons very closely.

Alex in SF, Thursday, 6 March 2008 18:24 (eighteen years ago)

oh right. isn't bluefly an aftermarket discount online shop?

yeah something like that

I think that part of the prize ("chance to sell your line on bluefly.com") is to try to get some of these people to market faster, so it's not four years later and you're thinking "hey whatever happened to jay mccarroll"

or at least that's what this one new york magazine story said before the season, that Bravo was gonna try to work with the winners more after the show, otherwise it seems like they're not really launching anybody into the industry

dmr, Thursday, 6 March 2008 18:45 (eighteen years ago)

fierce is so old. if you have to say fierce that many times to feel it, you're not fierce enough.

also, i'm not SURPRISED that he won, i'm just let down. he was definitely the best throughout, though. my question is: are they supposed to think about the whole season when judging? or just the challenge at hand?

Surmounter, Thursday, 6 March 2008 19:07 (eighteen years ago)

I wish Jay McCarroll would sell his s1 collection on Bluefly, it is still my favorite thing from the whole series.

daria-g, Thursday, 6 March 2008 19:09 (eighteen years ago)

agreed

Surmounter, Thursday, 6 March 2008 19:11 (eighteen years ago)

re: christian's hair...i am one degree of seperation away from a certain PR finalist who didn't make it to the final three and word is that xtian's hair is merely an elaborate combover to hide his swiftly receding hairline...which i thought was hilarious.

last night's show was fantastic, i thought! and despite not really liking him all season, i felt his work was definitely good enough to win.

BATTAGS, Thursday, 6 March 2008 20:06 (eighteen years ago)
