In those seconds chasing the fan, Dida clearly sensed an opportunity to get the result reversed. He went down and stayed down, leaving the pitch like a coward, in an effort to erase his own mistakes. He should received the utmost censure.

I just hope some UEFA medical people checked him over otherwise there could be a Rapid Vienna moment and the player suddenly has a wound that wasn't there when he left the pitch.

Kerr's hysterical worst-case scenarios on this and the other thread seem very unlikely indeed. UEFA have shown a willingness to clamp down on cheating with the ban for Mikolaunis diving in the match against Scotland recently, and with Celtic fans' fair play record and every Milan representative speaking up for them, I don't see a case for punishing Celtic any more than is strictly necessary.

His plan to stop the big countries hoovering up all the CL places surely shows a beginning to the end of the old regime? Dida making a tit of himself isn't really the key issue here. That he's an opportunistic fuck who tried to seize a chance to redeem a match he'd cost his team is without question, but this isn't the first time we've had fans entering the field on European nights in recent years and I'm sure UEFA will punish Celtic heavily for it. It would be a shame if it ended up costing the players a deserved result or prevents us non-ned supporters from attending future CL matches. I'm hoping for a big fine and a stern talking to but precedents have already been set Dida flare thing vs Inter, Denmark vs Sweden - I don't think last night's incident was anywhere near as severe but the point is that bad stewarding could have ended up with Dida being actually injured rather than making a fanny of himself.
