[ADMIN] Downtime this w/end (or ILX is moving. Again)

Message Bookmarked

As part of Getty's takeover of the company behind PaperThinWalls (who supply our hosting), the team who host our server is moving (to Dallas, Canada), which will mean downtime as it is shipped between them.

It's happening this Saturday, so I'll take the server down on Friday night to make backups etc, and we should hopefully be back up by Monday. If we're not, you know something has gone wrong. Which it shouldn't, hopefully. If we're not about by mid-week, check the old sandbox address (at http://ilx.thehold.net/ for updates)

By all appearances, it seems as if Paper Thin Walls is about to make a play in the already crowded music-based social networking arena – the PTW “places” are much like the personalized pages found on Last.fm, Mog, imeem, and a host of other Web 2.0 companies looking to make a dent in MySpace’s music dominance. Ultimately, the basis of the site is for labels and unsigned bands to sell their music.

It depends how long your ISP is caching the DNS entry for ilxor.com. Or it might be at your end -- try flushing the DNS caches
