Lucille is my hero.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 16:46 (eighteen years ago)

tempted to vote for george sr. or maebe.

Jordan, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 16:47 (eighteen years ago)

GOB is the Arcade Fire of this poll. Except I like GOB.

jhøshea, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 16:51 (eighteen years ago)

oh noes can't pick. want to vote for lucille, but feel bad for buster and maebe and george michael and tobias.

Roz, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 16:51 (eighteen years ago)

they'll be fine.

s1ocki, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 16:52 (eighteen years ago)

Lucille: Apparently mood-altering medication leads to street drugs. That's what this very handsome, young doctor said on the Today Show.

Michael: That was Tom Cruise, the actor.

Lucille: They said he was some kind of scientist...

Roz, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 16:53 (eighteen years ago)

yeah i have a strong hunch in the final tally gob and tobias will be higher than i'd like and maebe will be lower.

balls, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 16:54 (eighteen years ago)

i can't vote on this thread

n/a, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 16:55 (eighteen years ago)

yes you can, vote for GOB

Mr. Que, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 16:56 (eighteen years ago)

ok i'm gonna vote michael cuz nobody else is cuz he's such a straight man. but really he's got some of the biggest lols on the show.

Michael: Well, I’ll tell you what: I’m going to give you a promotion. Welcome aboard, Mr. Manager.

George Michael: Wow. I’m Mr. Manager.

Michael: Well, manager; we just say “manager.” And you can hire an employee if you need one.

George Michael: Do you think I need one?

Michael: Don’t look at me, Mr. Manager.

George Michael: Right, it’s up to me now. I’m Mr. Manager.

Michael: Manager. We-we just say, uh...

George Michael: I know, but you...

Michael: Doesn’t matter who.

s1ocki, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 16:57 (eighteen years ago)

tough. barry zuckercorn, or maybe tobias, or George Sr.

mizzell, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 17:04 (eighteen years ago)

heyyyyyyy brother...

Roz, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 17:05 (eighteen years ago)

Kind of agree with slocki. I mean, this exchange wouldn't be nearly as funny without Michael's deadpan reaction:

Tobias: Well, yes, but I’m afraid I prematurely shot my wad on what was supposed to be a dry run, if you will, so now I’m afraid I have something of a mess on my hands.

Michael: There are just so many poorly chosen words in that sentence.

jaymc, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 17:06 (eighteen years ago)

Buster: And her nausea's gotten really bad, too. It's really been difficult on us. It's definitely taking its toll.

Michael: Well, you know, you're free to go, pal. It's not like you made a commitment to this woman.

Buster: Well, I didn't make a commitment... I did refer to it as our nausea. But you know, that's when we were going at it really hot and heavy.

Michael: Well, now it's my nausea.

and what, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 17:13 (eighteen years ago)

im voting michael too cause without him the show is just like 7 too-quirky characters trying to outdo each other

Roz, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 17:20 (eighteen years ago)

I love everybody on this show, but Lucille is my favorite.

Nicole, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 17:22 (eighteen years ago)

and i think lucille is an excellent balance of laughs without the trying to outdo others quirk factor.

mizzell, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 17:22 (eighteen years ago)

George Michael, though I have a potentially illegal crush on Maeby.

dan selzer, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 17:23 (eighteen years ago)

also write-in vote for the literal doctor.

Roz, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 17:24 (eighteen years ago)

if it was a vote for actors, i would def vote for michael cera because he delivers so much with less material than the others

mizzell, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 17:25 (eighteen years ago)

lucille is great but the character feels too stock for me to vote for her

tambor is the best actor on the show but gob has given me so many laffs

not including the narrator in this poll was a mistake, i feel.

s1ocki, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 17:35 (eighteen years ago)

Lindsay Funke: Hey, I could've sworn I just saw Dad... Or not. I think hallucinations are a side effect of Teamocil.
Narrator: They aren't.

s1ocki, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 17:35 (eighteen years ago)

Carl Weathers: [about Burger King] I'm going to go get a drink refill. You know you can get unlimited refills on any drink you want... and it's free?
Tobias Fünke: It's a wonderful restaurant.
Narrator: It sure is.

s1ocki, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 17:35 (eighteen years ago)

yeah 'ron howard giving andy griffith show shoutouts' would definitely make my lists of faves about this show

apparently maebe's next movie:

Plot summary for
Prom Wars (2008)

The graduating class at Miss Aversham and Miss Cronstall's School for Girls find that they have - in defiance of the laws of nature - all blossomed simultaneously. Capitalizing on their improbable hotness, they issue a challenge to the boys of rival private schools, Selby House and Lancaster College: The winner in a series of athletic and academic competitions will be awarded exclusive rights to the girls as prom dates. Like the capricious and meddlesome gods of Greek mythology, the ACS girls pit the boys' schools against each other in a Prom War. Written by Myles Hainsworth

Best Lucille moment is when she asks where the bar is, and Michael says "this is an emergency ward" and she goes "no wonder people hate hospitals" and walks off chuckling, and then like a few seconds later you just hear her laughing absolutely hysterically further down the corridor

Close second is rushing at Dr Wordsmith screaming "YOU SON OF A BITCH" after he's said that Buster's gonna be "all right", because he no longer has a left hand

When Franklin insults that black security guard and he demands they pop the trunk, the camera zooms in on Gob and George Sr's faces in turn to show how shocked they are, AND THEN DOES THE SAME FOR THE PUPPET

^^^True about Michael.

Now that I think about it, my funniest scene in the entire show was when Michael finds a package in the fridge, sees the "Do not open - dead dove" sign on it but opens it anyway, and says "I don't know what I expected". I had tears streaming down my face. Come to think of it, that might have been the scene that hooked me onto the show. The "Go back from whence you came" at the end of it made me Arrested Development's official bitch.

Come to think of it, I wish we had an option to vote for that dead dove. It got a lot of laughs out of me.

nickalicious, Monday, 24 March 2008 19:14 (eighteen years ago)

Tobias gets a lot of the physical comedy jokes: when Lucille keeps spilling her breakfast martini and he comes into the room and does this TREMENDOUS fall...or when he's Mrs Featherbottom and he dives off the balcony!!!!

deeznuts, Saturday, 29 March 2008 00:20 (eighteen years ago)

I wonder who the other person that voted for Carl Weathers was?

mehlt, Saturday, 29 March 2008 00:21 (eighteen years ago)

I'm surprised George Michael got so many votes!? Is it because of Superbad?

Nicole, Saturday, 29 March 2008 01:55 (eighteen years ago)

it is because he is great

Gukbe, Saturday, 29 March 2008 02:08 (eighteen years ago)

Michael and George Michael probably appeal to same people: VOTE SPLITTING. Though sadly they still wouldn't have won even as a singular entity.

edwardo, Saturday, 29 March 2008 02:33 (eighteen years ago)

Poll of Destiny.

I just watched all these for the first time and they are by far the best thing that has happened to me this year.

Abbott, Monday, 7 April 2008 19:15 (eighteen years ago)

I want the Final Countdown ringtone.

Abbott, Monday, 7 April 2008 19:18 (eighteen years ago)

aw i wish i could watch them for the first time!

horseshoe, Monday, 7 April 2008 19:19 (eighteen years ago)

Abbott, Monday, 7 April 2008 19:20 (eighteen years ago)

They cheer me up all day, every day.

Abbott, Monday, 7 April 2008 19:20 (eighteen years ago)

I voted Zuckercorn for so many reasons, but probably shoulda voted Michael since he spends the first season as "the nice, normal one", but, really, pulls off as much sleazy selfishness as everyone else. He's just self-aware enough to feel shame when he's caught.

Dr. Superman, Monday, 7 April 2008 19:26 (eighteen years ago)

Abbott OTM - i realised i'd only seen about 3 episodes from the first series after buying the DVDs

blueski, Friday, 11 April 2008 11:06 (eighteen years ago)

I like when George Michael tells Michael about how she eats a hardboiled egg with a drop of mayo on it and later he calls her Egg.

-- nickalicious, Wednesday, March 19, 2008 6:00 PM
