I think they basically just rewrote Prez's character after the beginning of the first season.

I don't think so. I still think of the fucked up shit he pulled in season 1 when watching the later episodes, and I doubt the writers expect us to forget it.

I don't mean that the writers expect us to forget it, just personally I was never able to see how he could get from being basically a sociopath in the earliest episodes to where he ended up.

My wife likes Omar best. I guess I'd pick Stringer in that "Ok, uh, I'm not gay but you are an impossibly superior specimen of man" kind of way.

But Prez wasn't really a sociopath -- he was just trying to fit in with the knuckleheads he worked with (in a situation that he wasn't made for). He did the same thing w/ Freamon, except it was in a situation more his speed.

i like to look at him, definitely. as a character I find him sort of impossible.

that would probably be because you're in your 20s, haven't met a whole lot of people who work for a living, and are a long way out from real life

No love for Syndor? Reminds me of one scene in season 5 which I found amusingly meta, when McNulty is talking to Sydnor about "when we were working on the docks case" and Sydnor was like, "uh, I wasn't on that detail". Poor guy always fading into the backdrop.

FWIW I would have voted for Carver, or maybe McNulty had this poll been set before the 4th season. Stringer was undeniably hot though. Us female viewers & the gays were blessed.
