Hey guys, I just noticed that the calendar on my wall ends on December 31, 2008 - this must mean something!

All the end of the Mayan calendar means is the end of this creation and the world as we know it. But geez, we're on like the seventh creation or something, it's not that big a deal. (PS I LOVE that they actually wrote their dates on monuments from the date of the latest creation.)

Have any of you actually read up on all things Mayan? I started my first book yesterday. I've had it sitting on my shelf for a long time now. I had a friend who was really into Sound Tribe Sector 9 back in the day and he was the one who encouraged me to buy a book. STS9 apparently does a lot of Mayan stuff (Sector 9 is a Mayan calendar reference)

The way the winds were blowing for hours here in OK last night...could have been a sign but the thought never crossed my mind. Blew until 4am when I finally went to sleep. Unnerving!

Kept thinking of The Great Depression, if the rental was that old, what it looked like back then, who lived in it first, what did it cost to remodel, what will our first electric bill be like, how I rarely traveled for Christmas to see family, always spent it at home then back to the PBS documentary on Oklahoma and did the first people who lived in this house take off to to California, did they make it, what about a zombie version of Grapes of Wrath because they were starving...but the whole Mayan thing just never came up.
