Bookshops in Sydney: Sappho's got some second-hand stuff in, if it's the one next to the non-second-hand Gleebooks. Also try Berkelouws on Oxford St, more or less opposite new-and-arty book shop Ariel.

There's one or two on George St one block west of the cinemas, but about a dozen have closed down in the last ten years. Situation is dire.

Cold and flu tablets do work in that they alleviate some congestion and affect the medulla oblongata in some way that reduces the manifestation of a fever by stabilising yer temperature. They don't cure shit though, obviously.

Oh yeah they dont cure anything, you cant cure a cold! But I do find they at least dry up my nose/head, bring down fever, and lessen me aches.

I went home early. I was msning my boss about some processes we'd gone to training about with another provider, and I was all addled and he wasnt understanding me and I said "Im sorry Im making no sense, I feel really sick and Im a bit muddled". I then had a rather bizarre tram ride home sitting near a guy who was some kind of delusional schizophrenic or something. He was pretending to be on the phone to the federal police talking loudly about a corruption case he was working on involving the labour govt, millions of dollars in misappropriated funds, and a corruption scandal he was gonna blow the lid off, which he'd then tell everyone else who'd listen.

He also told various people he: had 54 grandchildren (he was barely in his 50s), had worked at monash on a 4000-line pabx in the 70s, was indigeonous (he was certainly very very middle class and white), and other stuff I didn't catch because I was too busy hoping he wouldnt talk to me and trying not to laugh.

Rob's love of them extends mostly to their songwriting and I am now learning how he sees that as a musician - he loves Tony Banks, and I can see why. Banks's solo stuff is also pretty damn good. He writes awesome chord progressions and has a really sweet voice. And early-genesis prog synth freakouts = aw yeah man. As an esrtwhile keyboardist myself I can get behind that shiz.
