I'M SO EXCITED. Actually I stopped caring about ANTM at about cycle 5 because then it just got silly and it became increasingly clear that the show was a transparent ruse for Tyra to further her career and the highest level of work these 'models' could expect was maybe catalogues and US shopping malls. Some of them weren't even that attractive in a 'model' way or not, Aussie ANTM was major drama on a consistent level...but I think this year will be ace. So far I like;

Tyra's self-centeredness is awesome! If anything, that's what makes her distinct from Oprah (and furthermore I'd say it's more a hallmark of her/my generation than it is Oprah's).

Well regardless of the models the artistic direction for the shoots has always been really creative. I always enjoy that aspect but airbrushing has wildly escalated.
Tyra is insane on her chatshow, self-centeredness is half disturbing half LOLZ. I only made it through two seasons. WEAK I know but she's a maniac.

leee, bntm cycle 4 seemed on par production wise with antm. earlier seasons, not as much. also there is WAY more drama on the britain one!

lol jay manuel as host bc tricia helfer was like 'peace dudes imma go be on burn notice' and there apparently aren't any other canadian models? i was really sad to find out that cntm 1's winner really WAS anorexic and has since quit modeling and gained weight (that is ok, i want her to be healthy, she was just... really stunning as a twig thin model. but you know, good for her!). she actually spoke out about what bs the top model thing is. cntm 2 winner is GORGEOUS and pretty awesome because she was the oddball and used to work in a meatpacking plant making hot dogs.

judges on bntm 4 were ridic! lots of lols!

oh yeah I have a total girlcrush on Rebecca (CNTM c2 winnah) and it's probably part of the reason I cut & dyed my hair similar to hers!

I have a bitch of a cowlick that actually goes off in both directions so it looks like someone hole-punched straight-across bangs. It really limits the ways you (well, I with my mediocre skills) can part your hair!

I was ready to feel bad for Hannah until I watched the episode. While I do think the girls needed to let go and Joselyn(?) could have been nicer than to flat-out ask "Are you a racist?", the original conversation Sheena and Black ScarJo had with her was really "you need to be careful about what you're saying if you don't want it interpreted as racist" and seemed intended to be helpful. It was when she ran off and was all "THEY ARE BEING MEAN WHY DON'T THEY GET ME" that they went "oh, I guess she is racist after all".

Also the thing with Isis was terrible. If Isis had bumped into her and she'd reacted by pushing her, that would have been one thing, but she shoved Isis for moving in her general direction. Sheena was completely OTM when she said, "If you're uncomfortable, say so! We'll stop!"

i'm wondering if nikeysha's extreme skinniness may have sped up her exit. like, tyra wanted to bring it up but not actually deal with it if there really was a problem?

I think the real tragedy of Hannah is that, unlike previous cycle villains, I do actually believe at core that she's a nice girl. She just does not have the mindset to deal with the environment she's in (compare her to the Cycle 1 runner-up, who was just as sheltered and just as conservative but managed to do so without coming across like a judgmental freak scared by ethnicity).

yeah i thought the initial conversation where sheena and britney? were telling her to be careful about how she says she things was one of the most mature confrontations i've seen on a reality show. girl totally blew it out of proportion and made herself look MORE racist. excusing hannah because she is ignorant is kind of like excusing palin, but i won't go too deep into that. anyway, seeing her on this show is making me more and more anti-palin by the second. just because she 'might not know any better' don't mean she isn't a douche/dangerous/whatever. anyway... i loved how they edited nikeysha's exit - with her trailing on and on as the credits rolled. makes me feel like they had to have edited the rest of the episode to just pick out every single time she opened her mouth.

LOVED Elina's hair when she had it styled to look like she was in Rasputina (makeover photo shoot) but the general effect of curly redheaded country diva in her talking heads was kind of ho-hum.
Brown streaks for Sheena? In person she looked like every Asian girl at the mall, though her photo made he look sort of Pocahontasy, which was neat.
Samantha's crazy bob is SUPER cute, I kind of adore her.. in other blonde news though, I don't think Annaleigh's makeover really did her any favours.
I think Clark's dark hair makes her look pretty bad.. exposes how much of her "beauty" was bronzer and bleach, in person at least. I guess she (all of them, really) did pretty decently in the photo.

Clark is gone -- major awesome. Marj and Annaleigh lezzy affair -- extra awesome. And Sheena is coming off as one of the realist girls on here ever (I think I think this about twice every cycle).
