Yeah mine are still at my parents house. To be honest it wasn't really my choice - my Mum mentioned how she'd used to collect stuff as a kid, and I said oh thats nice, I'd like to collect things I suppose. And then she started giving me owls for Christmasses and Birthdays and I quite liked them so I kept them. Some were very nice but others were really horrible and they kind of let the side down collection-wise.

I have got no idea why I did it. I don't even remember particularly liking owls at any point. I branched out during the later stages into owl bookmarks and teatrays. Spend a lot of time dusting them and writing inventories of my owl collection to date.

Tuomas, in English the noise an owl makes is popularly said to be "too wit to woo". No owl actually goes "too wit to woo"; there is a species where the males go "too wit" and the females go "woo" (tawny owl I think) and there is a Shakespeare play (possibly the Merry Wives of Windsor, though I may be wrong) which features a mention of owls going "too wit! to woo!", which is possibly how the idea of one owl making the whole noise entered the popular imagination.

The word 'woo' in English means the same thing as the Finnish 'kosiskella'

Quite clearly it's not a were-owl, otherwise it'd be a human turning into an owl. It must be an owl-wolf. Although actually it looks more like it's becoming a bear.

A GLOUCESTERSHIRE OWL charity, 'Barn Owl Centre' has told how “it survived a death sentence” after being falsely linked to an owl-themed cocktail bar in London
“I had a phone call regarding an event in London where a professional falconer would be in attendance at a sit down affair,” explained Mr Jones. “We were offered a £500-£1,000 donation, but there was no mention of an owl cafe, nor were we to attend with our birds.
But, Mr Jones believes he was tricked into accepting a donation from a separate company and never agreed to accept a donation from an owl bar.
“When we heard through the media it was an owl cafe, it was too late; damage to the centre’s reputation was done. With the onslaught that followed we spent endless days and nights being bombarded with abuse and threats, we also had to install special CCTV at the cost of £3000 as activists were threatening to release the rescued Owls in our care, this was important funds needed to support the Owls at our sanctuary.
“Now the truth is finally out, our life is starting to get back to some kind of normality but at a loss of £3000 of investment in CCTV security needed to protect our rescued Owls. We also lost 2 weeks of valuable Owl time
