After I gained 20 pounds my freshman year I had a bit of a potbelly, but have since lost it since I started eating vegan. But it was weird, because it was always realllly skinny arms/legs/torso with this tiny belly attached to it. No fun.

Oh! and yesterday I went to a Mexican farmer's market in town and got some incredible tortillas and some refried beans (with chipotle and adobo!) with the absolute fiercest woman on the can (it was kind of the reason I bough tit) and I made a bunch of burritos with jasmine rice, black beans with sauteed onion and garlic, refried beans, and some TVP with a homemade taco seasoning, and I froze a bunch of them and am proud of my frugality.

I don't know if I was "excited" by the goings-on most of the time. The first time, yes, and one other time since then for sure, but most of the others it was just sort of interesting. Over the long haul it was really, very boring.

I say "love", although not as much as I used to. It's usually used in departure or at the end of phone conversations ("bye, love!"). I uses "babes" a lot, as in "'sup, babes?" or "later, babes" when talking to female friends with whom I'm relatively close (close enough to not completely weird them out). I got it from that one "Art School Girls of Doom" video where they go to the beach and meet those ridiculous surfer dudes. But it's always just for just one person, never for a group.

For guys I use, well, "guy" ("later, guy") or "buddy". But "buster" sounds adorable enough to start using.

My friend Elena and I sat around trying to come up with silly pet names and the best we came up with was "pie", ("hello, pie!"). So now we always call each other "pie" when we see each other.

Spring is making me want to de-lurk, both here and IRL where I've been holed up in my bedroom all winter. Over the weekend my man and I hung out with THREE (3) healthy, happy gay couples, all around our age. It was a bit nerve-wracking because I was meeting most of them for the first time and I'm a terrible conversationalist. I get so anxious that I'll blurt out something nonsensical if I'm not careful, so it gets exhausting. But it was nice to meet some new people and get out of the house. And hopefully I'll get comfortable enough with them eventually.
