Aw thanks ljubljana. I'm generally fine with them but just thought the pic made everything look a bit weird. I dont know. Anyway - thanks for the glasses compliment. Unfortunately I got both these and the other pair you're talking about from a sm independent shop here that makes their own frames so I can't recommend a chain or anywhere online that you could order them. :-(

our 'proper' wedding is next year (family from nz can't afford to come out here for quite awhile), so the orig intention was to just go in and sign the papers (gotta get married now for immigration purposes). but i spoke to a friend who went thru a similar thing, and she advised us this would in fact feel like our 'real' wedding so we should dress up a little (i wanted to go in jeans and a t-shirt) and take photos. and she was right - it felt really intimate (altho very brief!) and special and we both cried.
it was just a really special thing, one of the happiest moments of my life ^_^

This cheetah was awesome. The sign said he's really friendly and loves having his belly rubbed, and when we sat down and hung out by him he started makin purring sounds. Was off the chain.

a hangi is traditional maori way of cooking food - everything is wrapped up in wet cloths in wire baskets and placed in a pit with heated stones, then covered over with dirt and left to cook for a few hours. potatoes, pork and chicken particularly awesome cooked this way. being american, it shouldn't be too hard to get invited to one!
