I have made a terrible error - JADE MUST STAY

Yes her voice is terrible when she gets excited, she's not v.bright and she looks a bit like a pig, but she's not a bad person. In fact I think she's quite a sweetheart. In these new moral times I have decided that

P.J. must go

. He's an arse, he's aggressively normal, he fancies his chances with Nathalie Imruglia and he is a love rat. Even 'Teen Wolf' being his third favourite film of all time cannot make amends.

N., Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

but...but...but i've just put the last coat on the Jade Must Go! campaign tour bus.

B, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Buses will be travelling on diversion.

N., Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I think N has a point...PJ is a lame-o.

jel --, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

What are PJ's first two favourite films?

(I really don't wanna shelve books)

jel --, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

DUSTY JAM SEAT!!

mark s, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Not a bad person! But she is a shoplifter!

Emma, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Besides which there is plenty of time for us to get rid of a no-mark like PJ, but we must get our priorities right & rid the world, er sorry, house, of Jade first.

Emma, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

It's only shoplifting! Her dad is a hardened criminal in prison for burlary, her mum has been involved in scraps with neighbours even though she has a paralysed arm. I think Jade can be considered to have pulled herself up by the bootstraps.

N., Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

jel - PJ's top film is The Godfather. He doesn't give a second.

N., Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah pj must go, but it is more urgent that jade goes. still.

Alan T, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

PJ is like the Stereophonics.

N., Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Jade is like...

N., Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

A potentially hardened criminal! Oh yes everyone says 'JUST shoplifting' but no-one thinks of the effect on the retailer and more importantly the employees of the retailer who could do with pay rise.

Emma, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Perhaps you could get her to nick you some stuff?

N., Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

In other news, I can't get enough of Spencer. It wasn't just his reaction to the toothpaste bullying yesterday. It was finding out on E4 that his greatest fear is not being able to perform with women and that his brother once set him on fire.

N., Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The toothpaste thing was hardly bullying it was just a daft prank. While I agree with Sandy & Spencer that it was pretty stupid, Sandy's oh so superior attitude was irritating.

Ha ha ha Spencer can't get it up.

Emma, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

surely everyone must be identifying with spencer. at least to the extent that he stays out of the big group things. they only calm down when there's like 5 or 6 of them, and then it's tolerable. otherwise, like Sandy said, it's like being in an awful club 18-30 holiday. urk

Alan T, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

18-30 holidays are very popular, Alan. Anyway, he didn't say '18-30', he said 'package'.

N., Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I have no sympathy at all, they knew what to expect. And Spencer's assumption that he & Sandy would be among the last 4 people, while possibly accurate is also quite arrogant.

Emma, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

You see - I am not in the Big Brother, yet I AM.

N., Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Spencer: "dude you set me on fire"
Brother: "I know"
Spencer: "oh well"

jel --, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

18-30 holidays might be very popular, but that doesn't stop the prospect of being locked in with a large group of hyper-active children any less scary. they did know what they were letting themselves in for, but i'm happy there's a group that seem to pining for a bit more quiet, and i am on their side. sunita, sandy, spencer (and grudgingly lynne). I AM OLD. (i.e. over 30!)

Alan T, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I am 26 and I agree with Alan.

jel --, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I am 29 and I am in two minds.

N., Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

last chance for one of those popular holidays

Alan T, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

bah if sunita had any braneZoR she wd have realised she cd get much peace and quiet when shut in that drawer!!

mark s, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Crap. That was supposed to be a very minging picture of Kelly Jones but virgin fuXXored it.

RickyT, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Redd Kross are indeed an underated band.

jel --, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

wiggy = rowr

mark s, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I am 19 /27 (depending which tabloid reports you believe) and I say: they knew what they were letting themselves in for.

Emma, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Except for Lynne - she'd never watched the programme before.

N., Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

[she was too busy shagging men]

N., Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Well she must have been aware of its nature unless she has been in a cave for the last 2 summers with no access to TV, newspapers, radio, interweb etc. Either way it merely heightens her potential for being a closet mentalist.

Emma, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Actually I think she was travelling (ie. sex tourism)

N., Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Sorry, do we not like Lynne? If not, I'll have her, if that's okay.

Mark C, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes, you can have her, that's OK. I fancied her for five drunken minutes on Friday but I have now seen her naked so the thrill is gone.

N., Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

As the saying goes...If wishes were horses, wishes would have Lynne's teeth.

Martin, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

At last! Someone else has recognised the terror of Lynne's teeth! I am not 100% sure if it's the teeth or the gums but either way she is a scary woman.

Emma, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm missing out.

all of this.

richard john gillanders, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Alert: Sandy is also a Love Rat and bad father!

Graham, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

BYERS MUST GO. oops, he has!!

Alan T, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I just wanna know when we lock all of you people in a room for Dan's and my amusement.

Ned Raggett, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

No, no. ELTON JOHN mustgo. Oh..wait, he has too.

mms, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

PAT COOMBS MUST GO, etc

Alan T, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

In other 'not going' news, the Sun has done a special on BB3 lookalikes. Apparently Sandy isn't Dr Fox after all.

NEWS FLASH: Kate has painted Spencer's bottom orange.

N., Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

ILX Mad Libs!

NEWS FLASH: (name of poster) has painted (name of poster)'s bottom orange.

Dan Perry, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I just looked at the contestants. Adele is cute.

Dan Perry, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Those lookalikes are RUB RUB RUB.

Graham, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes, those are some of the worst lookalikes ever.

jel --, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I said Sandy looked like Vic Reeves and I was angrily shouted down with Dr Fox suggestions. Give me a job at the Sun. Alison looks nowt like Rusty Lee, apart from being large and black. Don't u think Spencer looks more like Dermot thingy, the ubiquitous presenter and aspiring "king smug"?

Alan T, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

He's not smug! He's lovely and yes the comparison had occurred to me.

N., Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

he so IS smug. that trail for Recovered is a masterclass in smug. why so defensive?

Alan T, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I still think they're mostly plebs. For this to be class snobbery, I would have to be really posh.

suzy, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

for it to be snobbery you'd have to say that being one of the common people is to be inherently inferior, and that you are not one of the common people.

Alan T, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes, I agree with Alan. Suzy has got her class politics in a twist.

N., Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I don't mind Dermot O'Leary. Though, when this pretty girl I once knew said she fancied him, I knew then she didn't fancy me. Or maybe, that wasn't the case...oh damn, now I feel worse.

jel --, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

ok, dermot's not the smuggest man on TV by a long wossname. my housemate was watching some car show the other day, and the bloke presenting that had the WORST, most annoying, way of speaking I have ever come across. I couldn't stand it. I find it hard to believe that he gets paid to present a TV show -- jade would be less irritating. yeuch.

Alan T, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Suzy's just saying she thinks TV is purely and scum like her should be kept ORF.

(Hence Chris Eubank's popularity on Sleb Big Brother)

Graham, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Suzy's just saying she thinks TV is purely for the ruling classes and scum like her should be kept ORF.

(Hence Chris Eubank's popularity on Sleb Big Brother)

Graham "the s is for 'Suzy, put the knife down'", Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

JADE MUST GO.

Tom, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Jade is LUVVERLY.

(I predict Jade vs Sunita, and like yar, who in the house likes Sunita?)

Graham, Tuesday, 28 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I think Jonny looks like Rio Ferdinand. But I can see that only I might think that.

dan, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

alangT ist korrekt that Sandy looks like Vic Reeves though. i also hate Sunita, but not as much as Jade (who must go, incidentally)

katie, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Today's Daily Mail : Are these the 12 most awful people in Britain?

I like the way Spencer is training Kate in the arts of pain. Punch harder! Make the kick count! He truly is the Emperor!

jel --, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

If the papers had described N. as one of the 12 worst people in Britain, would we all have grabbed pitchforks and burnt Wapping?

Mark C, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I fear you would have all cheered.

N., Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

That's what happens when you grow a beard.

RickyT, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I am the Frank Dobson of ILE. Actually, I'm more like the Robin Cook.

N., Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

You're not *that* bad

David, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Hey Simeon, did you get my email?

N., Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Arrgh - Sunita is leaving the house!

N., Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

What a wuss!

Emma, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Hang on, if Sunita goes then someone else will have to come in to replace her. WHO COULD IT BE? I wonder if it might be someone from ILE? With a beard? Hmmmm.

Emma, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Brad Pitt?

Graham, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

LYNNE MUST GO!! She is just so mean.

ALEX MUST GO!! Poor guy. Hehe!

jel --, Wednesday, 29 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm not classist, I just think these people are a vulgar version of mediocrity.

Sunita's off because she can't have a conversation with these people who don't know any words over four syllables. I imagine thought bubbles over their tiny brains that 'spell' everything out in txt msg style.

suzy, Thursday, 30 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

they use the word 'vulgar' = they are classist

RickyT, Thursday, 30 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

unless they are Morrissey!

except hang on...

katie, Thursday, 30 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Alex in OCD hygeine meeting shocker!

Graham, Thursday, 30 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

To the delight of Suzy (I'm sure) heaven and hell zones are to be called RICH HOUSE and POOR HOUSE.

Graham, Thursday, 30 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Ordinary boys, happy going nowhere / just around here in the rattling cars. But Morrissey was raised in the Bronx so it's OK.

N., Thursday, 30 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

but really on an average day how many 4+ syllable words would one use?

jel --, Thursday, 30 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

What a pedestrian question, jel.

Dan Perry, Thursday, 30 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

unless u r mary p0ppins!

jel --, Thursday, 30 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

appreciated
relationships
disappointed
claustrophobic
definitely

I actually agree completely with Suzy about this (I wuv Sunita).

"I'm 25 and I'm a qualified barrister; I'm not getting into a drawer", Thursday, 30 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

POINT OF ORDER! Kate 'oops I forgot to take any bras in with me' Tartface - what was that garment consisting of cups & straps you were wearing yesterday in the place your tits would be if you had any? Oh yes it was a BRA you lying hussy. And there was you trying to kid the nation that you were naturally perky.

No bras my ass.

Emma, Friday, 31 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Well it'll be LYNNE out tonight. It'll be jade and lynne nominated, and the housemates love Jade, and Lynne's been so spiky... she's GONE.

Alan T, Friday, 31 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah, I know - what a cow! I said from the first time I saw her that she would prove to be a psychobitch.

Emma, Friday, 31 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Sunita's most commonly used expression was 'that's cool' (count the syllables). Her not getting on with the other housemates had nothing to do with her being too intelligent/articulate for them (Sandy, Adele, Lee and even Lynne are all able to string thoughtful and meaningful sentences together). It was a clear case of Sunita suddenly being a small fish in a big noisy pond and not liking it. Not that I blame her for leaving, but what was she expecting?

Archel, Friday, 31 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

jade is number 1 popularity on the channel 4 site. ???!!!! Has graham been haXoRing (sans bottle of water) in the computer rooms all night? actually i confess I find her a lot less annoying now

Alan T, Friday, 31 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Life is funny, isn't it?

I am in the depths of an existential crisis (i.e I just want to go home and watch the World Cup, but instead I am at work)

My new favourite saying is "if you've got no sugar, you don't make cakes!"

Yes, Lynne is nasty. Why does she hate Spencer so much?

jel --, Friday, 31 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I still think Jade would have fitted in better in the 'Boys Alone' house (9pm, Ch4 last night) subsisting on a diet of Honey Nut Loops and ice-cream and hysterically smashing everything.

Archel, Friday, 31 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I thought Sandy was being a right misery for moaning about the lack of sugar. Fat old git. To be fair to Lynne it was a bit rude of Spencer to assume he could move into the girls' room, I wouldn't want the stinky fungus ridden wannabe psycho in my room either (oh I wuv him really) though on the other hand her reaction was a bit mental.

Emma, Friday, 31 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

One the polysyllabic words thing, Suzy's remark was about words of more than four syllables. Jel's '4+' paraphrasing was un-sat-is-fac-tor

Austin., Friday, 31 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

-y.

[six - whoo!]

Sunita was probably right that Lynne will have an early bath, certainly if the house get a chance to vote her to go. I so want PJ to go as he is a bad influence on Spencer.

N., Friday, 31 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

and now I can't registar my Times World cup fantasy league team! grrr.

Sorry about the syllable affair.

jel --, Friday, 31 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

We've been watching the live thing on E4, jesus it's so compelling in such an odd way. We sit there watching some fool brush his teeth or we sit on the couch and do nothing just to watch them sit on the couch and do nothing. You know everyone in the room is thinking about something slightly different and yet totally focused on the TV. It's all quite surreal. I have decided once again this year that the highbrow anti Big Bro arguments are boring and tiresome and now I will give it respect.

Ronan, Friday, 31 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

there are no highbrow anti-BB arguments

mark "the s is for faux populist harhar" s, Friday, 31 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Because I too am possibly mental I have made it my mission to try and like Jade, despite hating her. It's working too. Lynne though, really must go, before I smash the TV in. I like Psencer and Sandy's synchronised poolside posturing.

alix, Friday, 31 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Jade turns into a bitch from hellHurrah!

Austin., Friday, 31 May 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Jade becomes incredibly entertaining

Alan T, Thursday, 6 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

JADE = GREBT!

RickyT, Thursday, 6 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

STOP FETISHISING POOR EDUCATION.

N., Thursday, 6 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

"What's your country, and what's your things?" is my new favourite phrase.

Andrew L, Thursday, 6 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Week of Hell begins! Sandy will be out come next Friday, jumping the basketball queue, and then vowing to rub it in. Pure evil, but then I expect nothing less from him! Spencer and Kate divided!

jel --, Saturday, 8 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Alex in no hygeine hell! Jade being v.intelligent organising GvsB.

Graham, Saturday, 8 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Have you looked at this compilation of PJ quotes. Yeach!

N., Monday, 10 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

What a lovely bloke.

RickyT, Monday, 10 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

PJ still has a 40% popularity rating! Bizarre!

jel --, Monday, 10 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Latest PJ outrage

N., Monday, 10 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

"Yeah, we're going to Scotland. We're going to go driving in the hills in his purple warrior," she revealed, referring, in case there is any confusion, to his car.

KATE MUST GO.

Dan Perry, Monday, 10 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

(And I'm not even watching! This is more fun than World Cup!)

Dan Perry, Monday, 10 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

People who must go (in order):

PJ (obv.)
Kate (silly 'love me' cow - she is spoiling Spencer for the rest of us) Sophie (dull dull dull. Her favourite book is 'Women are from Venus, Men are from Mars)

People who must stay (in no order)

Jade (she so funny)
Spencer (I like backing a winner)
Sandy (to see him get more and more pompous and angry
Alex (same reason as Jade)
Adele (cause I like her)

N.,, Monday, 10 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I think PJ must stay. Well maybe not but I'm warming to him - I think he represents our hypersexualised environment very well. He should write a tell-all book like that French art critic did.

On the go list - Sophie (yes SO BORING), Kate, Lee as an accessory to Sophie's boredom and for making nice Adele boring too. I don't mind him but his presence is destructive. Jonny.

I'm not sure about Sandy. He clearly knows he can't win so wants to become this year's love-to-hate figure having seen the respective media attention that Nick Bateman and, say, Tom off BB1 got.

Tom, Monday, 10 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I like how Sophie's picture shows up for Spencer in the thumbnails on the BB3 site.

Dan Perry, Monday, 10 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Pompous, that's the word. And sanctimonious - is that right?

david h(owie), Monday, 10 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Tom - what does this bit in bold mean, I'm only young (seriously): "She used to come round my house, the best mate, and say 'Oh Peej...' and just hop on. Get kippers out for you."

david h(owie), Monday, 10 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

You have me there Mr Howie. A female genitals = fish reference is all my amateurishly filthy mind can think of.

Tom, Monday, 10 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

"KIPPERS"???????????? BLEURGH!

Dan Perry, Monday, 10 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Pope Catholic! Bear, Woods, Shit, Shock! Howie's Worst Fears Confirmed!

david h(owie), Monday, 10 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I now agree with N. I now think Sandy should stay for the same reason that Alex should - to rile everyone else. But let my hatred of him be registered. Also, he is all mouth and no trousers => he can buzz off i.e. not a man to have a pint with.

david h(owie), Monday, 10 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

old days: "he is all mouth and trousers"
nu-days: "he is all mouth and NO trousers"

mark s, Monday, 10 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

What?

david h(owie), Monday, 10 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I take it you're calling me nu-ilm. That's fine.

david h(owie), Monday, 10 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i think Mr Sinker is referring to Sandy's kilt...

michael, Monday, 10 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

no, i mean the phrase has changed: in the olden days ppl of no consequence were "all mouth and trousers", but today they seem to have lost the trousers

mark s, Monday, 10 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

ha, my feelings are no longer hurt "wink". you really are old.

david h(owie), Monday, 10 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Is there some logic behind that, otherwise I giggle muchly at the implied value judgement of trousers.

"Trousers, eh? tch."

(What does Mandee think about this?) (sorry)

Graham, Monday, 10 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Listen people, any girl who wears her thong as purposefully high as Adele does deserves instant eviction. And also Adele is horribly boring, I don't hate anyone except Lee but what has Adele ever said since she joined the house.

She also strikes me as the one most likely to start coming out with her own twisted psychology towards the end.

I've decided the best part of Big Bro is the way it tempts them into making whiney self indulgent moans at Big Brother in the diary room.

Like "I've had a horrible day". "Why don't you tell Big Brother all about it". Patronising and they don't even realise what the real question is is "Why don't you make a tit of yourself on national tv by using this private ahem ahem platform to talk about things you wouldn't otherwise".

It's horrible, what BB does, but it's good TV.

Ronan, Monday, 10 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Mark is right about the trousers thing.

N., Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Maybe it was transposed from "Fur coat, no knickers".

Also, we're *so* on course for pant fumbling.

Alan T, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Who, me and you?

N., Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Yes when you get a job in a laundry shop and they make a sitcom about it.

Ronan, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

YES

(YES were gay icons? etc)

Alan T, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

But pant fumbling through the barriers. How unsavoury. I am bored of the divide now, I cannot believe it is here to stay. A week of it would've been MORE than enough.

Emma, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I wish the bars were electrified.

Ronan, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Wasn't there some 80's pop video with people on either side of barracades? Oh what was it?

jel --, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

is the divide not every other week? i thort there would be a week off, then another test, etc. which gets over the odd-number problem too.

I have completely changed my mind: I LIKE THE BARRIER. I love the change in the relationships and the miserable behaviour of the poor house -- AND ALEX! wow, alex in the poor house has been grebt.

Alan T, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

But sex through the barriers would be fantastic. Glory holes!

Can someone give me a definitive answer on what's happening with the barriers as I have had to miss a lot of BB the last few days.

N., Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

hmm, apparently they just get a chance to swap sides.

erm, PJ MUST GO

Alan T, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeh, PJ: what a chipstick (is this slang actually in use, or is it just Jade?). And have you seen his creepy Homer Simpson style feet? Legs as well, but mostly the feet. Grrooo.

Ellie, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I am horrified at the thought of someone CONSTANTLY being in the poor house due to being crap at the tasks. They would starve! Or get malnutrition. Or get pneumonia from taking cold showers in the freezing English summer. And how are they supposed to wash up eh? I think it amounts to cruel and unnatural punishment and the cheeriness the povvies are displaying is faux cheeriness and in fact they are plotting some kind of terrible murderous vengeance (which is what I'd be doing).

Emma, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

KATE MUST GO!

Andrew L, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

No, I think they are chipper 4 real, even if only because they *think* they've got some purpose, or some moral high ground, or can do better "bonding" or whatever. Except Jade and PJ. And I worry that it'll be Jade w/ the pneumonia or malnutrition, unless they can devise tasks in which the good-hearted, naive, or emotionally incontinent are privileged.

Ellie, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

haha yes what if they STORMED THE SUMMER PALACE? how does big brother deal with revolution?

"it is against the rules" vs "it is great tv"

lenin to the diary room!!

mark s, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

maybe they will get so hungry that they will murder and eat Jade!

katie, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

"moral high ground" is good thinking, possibly => surely the voting public wuvs an underdog? if jade gets consumption she is a shoo-in, like little nell (she is already 9/10ths a dickens character)

mark s, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

One must have a heart of stone to read the death of little Jade without laughing.

Andrew L, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm surprised that Alex is so resiliant, I woulda thought he'd be the first to crack, but then he was bonkers already. My money is on Jade to stay in the poorside for the rest of big bro, hopefully Kate will also find herself there.

Kate, PJ, Sophie & Jonny must go. Sndy must stay to make everyone else feel bad.

jel --, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

they already discussed eating each other. alex suggested Jade would be the most tender.

Alan T, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I am not at all surprised that Alex is loving the poor side, all those restrictions = all the more opportunity to be anal e.g. his row with Jade about sugar in the porridge.

Emma, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

and I must say that Alex was quite right in repremanding her over the sugar!

jel --, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

But as the psychologist pointed out on Sunday, it's not just the things he says, it's the way he says them. So punchable! And yet so watchable. You go Alex.

Emma, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

psychologists to the pov room!

mark s, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Psychologists to the hen house more like

RickyT, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

i loved "psych bird that looks like her out of Bugs/those phone ads"'s analysis of sandy's tactics.

Alan Trewartha, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

What, the whole 'Sandy is fighting a war' thing? Why can't we have the shrinks on every night, I love their spurious insights.

Emma, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Sandy's War. yeah. it was probably utter shite, but it WAS more entertaining than PJ WHO MUST GO.

Alan Trewartha, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Maybe Alex will be proved right and if PJ continues to refuse to eat his chickpeas, he will DIE and be carted out of BB through the back door in a BIG BORING COFFIN.

Emma, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

If PJ doesn't eat, he'll end up looking like Mr Makay out of South Park.

jel --, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Can someone explain *ahem* Deathbrother to me?

Matt, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

johnny v lee. FITE!

Alan Trewartha, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

kate vs thermonuclear device: FITE!

RickyT, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

er, in what world did the housemates nominate a thermonuclear device?

I still don't get the HATE for kate. I can see she's annoying. but i can overlook that, so long as i can overlook... er I'll stop there.

Alan Trewartha, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Ahem. I was explaining my ideal deathbrother scenario.

RickyT, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I am distraught. I have started to LIKE Kate! Why? How?

Give me back my hate, please.

Archel, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Slow news day in the Big Brother house...

Dan Perry, Tuesday, 11 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Looks like Sandy is walking out the back door today.

Alan Trewartha, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

spoke too soon!. k-blimey!

Alan Trewartha, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Wow. Escaping the house dressed as Hamburgler. The man is a legend.

Richard Jones, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

The man is a miserable old git and I rejoice at his departure.

Emma, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

he went of his own accord. i liked him. he disliked jonny. and told him so.

LEE MUST GO! JONNY MUST GO!

best nominations ever.

Alan Trewartha, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

But Kate looked confused and asked, "What does manipulative mean?"

ARGH

RickyT, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

that's pure CLASS. come on!

Alan Trewartha, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

It is very wearying having this debate with 2 sets of virtual people at the same time but I am up for it nonetheless. Sandy was RUDE and attempted to conceal it by claiming he was being honest. He was constantly sneering and looking down his miserable old nose as if his greater age & waistline made him a better person. Well it didn't. I am still glad he has gone.

Oh and Lee must go.

Emma, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Thank you, Lee must go.

All the others combined can't be as annoying as whiny needy sexually frustrated Lee. "Imagine us.......when all this is over, waking up together". Yes very romantic, just because he leaves out the "after we've shagged" part doesn't mean it's not obvious he's thinking it. Sophie is ok but she's obviously pretty thick if she didn't smack Lee after that bullshit.

Ronan, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

alex: "this is the first thing i ever picked for myself to eat. sandy are there any rules about if you eat too much roquette it will fuck you up?"
sandy: "erm it's just salad"

alex must stay!!

mark s, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

sophie is such a flake.

Alan Trewartha, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I have already texted for Lee to go once. I feel the urge coming on again. I am very annoyed by the way Kate gets accused of flirting & using womanly wiles whereas it is OK for Lee to come over all schmoove (NB I don't actually find Lee's schtick very schmoove but no doubt some girlies do). Well not VERY annoyed but a bit.

Emma, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

sophie is such a flake
what, she tastes chocolatey and leave bits all over the floor?

MarkH, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

YES. that too.

Alan Trewartha, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Power Rangers must go!

jel --, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Does his schtick work on some girls? Jesus Christ.

Ronan, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Well yeah! His girlfriend Carmen, (briefly) on Adele and of course Sophie! Some women are really daft.

Emma, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

He must be very handsome by some conventional standard cos so far I can't think of any personality trait you could say he has. The only thing that stands out is his constant efforts to get some sex. I can't remember hating anyone on any Big Brother until now.

Ronan, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I hope Jonny goes. Has Sandy really gone?

Will anyone really want to enter the house to take his place? Or am I assuming that there are too many sensible people in the world?

jel --, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I cannot fathom Lee's appeal either. I think it must be a sort of relative thing (he is shagging his sister har har) i.e. Adele & Sophie are stuck in a house with 6 men and need to focus their horny feelings on someone so have picked Lee cos he is closest to their type. As to how he managed to get a girlfriend in the real world where men are swarming about the place (hem hem) I have no idea.

Emma, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

on BBLB Lee's view on why he might be nominated for eviction was because he might get up to "too many pranks". Oh, the wag. He gets up to all sorts of crazy... hang on.

Alan Trewartha, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Lee's appeal- we feel so sorry for him after he got his ass kicked by Lennox Lewis that we want him to stay in.

Dom Passantino, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

But Alan! didn't you see that joke where Lee was lying on the sofa being sleazy??

jel --, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Can we make up some names for them that rhyme with their names? Or at least that use alliteration.

Jonny must stay because to my Irish ears anything he says is pure comedy.

Ronan, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Lothario Lee or Smells-of-Wee Lee.

Rubber Johnny.

Jabbering Jade.

Anal Alex.

Pete, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Spooky Spencer. I still think he could go at any moment.

Emma, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Superfluous Sophie

jel --, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

why is it "Spanky" Spencer anyway? Softhead Sophie. Adele "I'm a bisexual that's never had a homosexual, or for that matter, heterosexual, experience". does that rhyme?

Alan Trewartha, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Cos he likes being spanked? Or spanking? Maybe Kate will explain when she gets evicted.

Emma, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Spencer will have to release a cover of that Puddle of Mudd song.

jel --, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Haha LET THE SEX BEGIN!

Dan Perry, Wednesday, 12 June 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

three weeks pass...
I LOVE JADE AND WANT 2 FATHER ALL HER BABY PIGLETS!SHE CAN CHOW DOWN ON MY MAN SWILL WHEN SHE'S OUT OF THE HOUSE!!!!

Martin Hearmon, Sunday, 7 July 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

six years pass...

See, ILX can be even handed...
