LOL i love how the Age have started to turn into the Hun with lines like "He said he would try to have the taxpayer-funded show cancelled."

They'd never worded it like that once of a time, jesus.

I personally think the skit idea is pretty LOL but I can see why it'd offend ppl.

chk chk BOOM! (Trayce), Thursday, 4 June 2009 00:12 (sixteen years ago)

I mean if it was real sick kids in the skit, that would be fucking sick. But they were actors.... ahh whatever. Chaser's always been about pushing shit as far as they can.

chk chk BOOM! (Trayce), Thursday, 4 June 2009 00:14 (sixteen years ago)

You might as well shut this country down now if it can't "get" black humour.

For fuck's sake, a whole bunch of children are still growing up in poverty in this country and it would only get 0.0000001% of the reaction that this *comedy sketch* is receiving.

Srsly, I'm tempted to go to a builders supplies or bunnings and buy some kind of elaborate plastic awning thingy to keep the rain off, cos being consigned to the front porch for a durrie is stupid.

ghetto nanna (sic), Monday, 22 June 2009 05:58 (sixteen years ago)

from popbitch:
"Ghostface Killah at Scala last night took cheap,
shoddy couldn't give a fuck rap concerts somewhere
I haven't quite seen before. Having started late
and presented a notably short set comprising
mainly of snippets of tracks cut short by gunshot
sound effects, the show came to an abrupt end.
After a lengthy and indulgent "Get the bitches
on stage" segment where he and his boys got
their dicks rubbed by fat birds' arses, the music
stopped and Ghostface turned all Del Boy
hawking t-shirts to the bemusement of the crowd
who were invited to get on stage to buy a t-shirt
for twenty pounds while the backing rappers and
DJ grabbed a stack of merchandise from behind
the decks and started flogging those at the front
of the stage. The audience started booing once
they realised this was actually it. The response
was a mocking "fuck y'all" followed by an
announcement that any motherfucker on stage who
ain't gonna pay 20 pounds for a T shirt or some
shit can get the fuck off and stop fucking
crowding me. Still, I suppose at least he turned
up for this one. Ironically he didn't perform
Greedy Bitches."

FakeAWish.com allows users to type in a celebrity name - such as Jeff Goldblum - and spits out a fake news story saying he has "died while filming a movie in New Zealand early this morning" after falling off a cliff.

"Police officials indicate that the actor fell more than 60 feet to his death on the Kauri Cliffs while on-set. Specific details are not yet available," says the site, headed Global Associated News.

It contains a disclaimer at the bottom which says: "Any reference to specific individuals has been 100% fabricated by web site visitors who have created fake stories by entering a name into a blank 'non-specific' template for the purpose of entertainment."

Today show entertainment reporter Wilkins mentioned Goldblum's death on the Nine Network this morning.

I think he likes to think we all reckon he's this super-organised guy with his shit sorted out, but in reality he doesn't have a steady income source and he's always in debt. ~~not saying ur at all like that obv.

wilter, Monday, 6 July 2009 06:23 (sixteen years ago)

Haitch man, apropos to our conversation last night, this

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Korg-MS2000R-Synth-Analog-Modeling-Synth-MS-2000-R_W0QQitemZ360169051869QQcmdZViewItemQQptZKeyboards_MIDI?hash=item53dbbf96dd&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=65%3A15%7C66%3A2%7C39%3A1%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A50

and a MIDI keyboard will end up being 4 to 5 hundred bux cheaper than getting the full key version. Also if you're going to be using the FX etc. you don't need keys, saving space. I can rep for the seller too, I think I got my guitar MIDI converter from them.

LOL:

A 40-inch Samsung television set with a price tag of $15 sounds too good to be true, but that didn't stop the legions of bargain hunters who rushed to take advantage of an unbelievable deal on the JB Hi-Fi website overnight.

The retailer had offered a Samsung high-definition 40-inch LED TV, which comes with a bonus 22-inch LCD TV via redemption, for $15 late last night and early this morning.

But earlier today the price was changed to $2963. JB Hi-Fi's marketing manager, Scott Browning, said the $15 price had been advertised in error and it was unlikely the price would be honoured.

...

One member of the Australian online music forum Mess + Noise
reported ordering one of the TV sets from JB Hi-Fi and receiving an email receipt for $15 plus $40.32 freight. They said their credit card was charged and they hoped the order would be fulfilled.

"A reasonable person wouldn't say they're entitled to the product," Browning said.

seagulls are assholes (Trayce), Thursday, 30 July 2009 02:22 (sixteen years ago)

the pair were reportedly embroiled in similar controversy in 2001, when they worked for B105 FM in Brisbane.

Sandilands had arranged an on-air confrontation between a schoolgirl, Natasha, and her mother, Angela, who said she had sex with her daughter’s boyfriend, News Ltd said.

On that occasion co-host Jackie O expressed concerns about the segment, labelling it "tacky", but Sandilands dismissed her concerns and the segment was broadcast.

During the exchange, Sandilands asked the mother: "Have you slept with your daughter’s boyfriend?"

She replied: "Yes, but there was alc ... we were drunk, it was, you know, it was ..."

While crying, her daughter Natasha said: "Yeah, that makes it all okay, doesn’t it?".

Later in the segment, after Natasha said she did not wish to speak with her mother again, Jackie O said: "I think we should leave them and not broadcast this ..."

Sandilands replied: "You’ve got to be kidding me."

Sandilands later told News Ltd he had overruled Jackie O "because I have more experience".

The radio station reportedly received hundreds of complaints about the segment.

Someone's spray painted on the back fence of the houses over the rear lane from us KEEP YOUR ANIMALS QUIET in big letters. Yay, a nutter lives somewhere nearby! I mean a couple of dogs bark a bit but nothing major.

I was at an army barracks recently and thought the security was pretty shitty. like one civilian guard and we were let straight through without any kind of security check.

But I also went to an air force base and it was pretty hardcore.

Is JERKins coming to Sydney??? HOPE SO WE WILL TAKE JERKINS TO BURGERFUEL IN NEWTOWN!!

Jetstar is shit but cheap. Please note that Jetstar flying from Sydney to Melbourne arrives at Avalon Airport (NOT Melbourne Airport) which is in the middle of nowhere (also known as "near Geelong"). Also, expect delays and cancellations.

Tiger is shittier and should only be flown by those with a deathwish.

I'd play the slightly extra money to fly Virgin Blue - which actually can sometimes be the cheapest: if you pick the right flight, you can fly Sydney to Melbourne for AUD$77.

when i went to golden plains w/ girl i used to know from work and her crew, they had the idea of stealing the stupid hanging baby and stringing it up from the belltower of the pinnacle, which a couple of them were managing at the time, and demanding that bimbos be returned to the punters glory days.

still think it's an idea with merit tbh.

No, The Hub remains unused. It briefly sold budget CDs in the 90's, and before that it was an adult video store... but mostly closed ever since the 80's. Lots of places like that in Sydders.

It's not been turned into anything - it used to be a porn theatre, and was a remainder book store for a month or so in 1996 (I bought PSB's Alternative there!), and is supposedly owned by some religious old sisters who refuse to allow it to hold sinful rock music or dance parties.

hey mongs, i got this message from the dental surgery i go to and thought you should all know about it in case you, your family or friends might qualify:

We write to inform you of an exciting program available through Medicare.
The Program is called the EPC (Enhanced Primary Care) Program and is available to anyone with a history of chronic illness lasting 6 months or more. Examples of such conditions include, but are not limited to: Asthma, Arthritis, Cardiovascular disorders, Mental illness and Cancer.
By getting a referral to us from your GP, you automatically qualify to receive up to $4250 to cover the cost of your dental treatment. What's more we will 100% Bulk Bill and everything apart from Implants is covered!
This offer through Medicare may be for a limited time only so don't delay. If you yourself, or anyone you know qualifies for the scheme, then we would be more than happy to provide any dental treatment needed.

estela, Friday, 14 August 2009 11:06 (sixteen years ago)

there's something very king of nigeria about that msg

the godwin grech from the hilarious "harry potter" books (Autumn Almanac), Friday, 14 August 2009 22:57 (sixteen years ago)

Seems it isnt a new program at all, it's been around for who knows how long - in fact the govt have been trying to close it down and direct funding to newer schemes.

Spy in the Cab Sav (Trayce), Saturday, 15 August 2009 01:59 (sixteen years ago)

Complex care needs means that you are receiving ongoing care from a multidisciplinary team, which includes your GP and at least two other health or care providers.

In practice, this means that you will need to be managed by your GP under certain care plans. For most people, this involves the preparation of a “GP Management Plan” and “Team Care Arrangements”.

Sounds like something more aimed at people in govt health assitance programs or aged care facilities or whatnot.

Roffle. Ive had realos like that in the past... theyve walked in, not even looked in most of the rooms, gone "anythign busted? Nah? Ok cya" and left again.

I kind of wish they hadnt been so lax because the Alex st flat ended up in a pisspoor state after 8 years of that.

Its funny, all the male realos are brisk and just want to make sure nothings busted or seriously wrong. The females? "OMG you left DUST on the windowsill above the TOILET you filthy HORROR". I actually had one woman sneer at me and say "you didnt clean up much did you?" because there was a little dust left - after wiping - on the loo cistern. Despite the fact the actual loo and floor were bleached and sparkling.

Cow.

Spy in the Cab Sav (Trayce), Friday, 28 August 2009 07:19 (sixteen years ago)

they don't make ACA segments like that any more, more's the pity

Korg Boy Polysix (haitch), Friday, 28 August 2009 07:20 (sixteen years ago)

sounds orrite trayce. i never did hear that last black cab record, let alone the new one. first one set a mood quite nicely though.

Korg Boy Polysix (haitch), Friday, 28 August 2009 07:21 (sixteen years ago)

i can appreciate them but i've never fallen in love with them tbh. mr lee is a legend and an excellent guitarist though

wilter, Friday, 28 August 2009 07:50 (sixteen years ago)

I am going to a NRL game tomorrow night while secretly wishing I was at Carlton vs Adelaide!! It's all good, through, we will drink plenty and crack Russell Crowe jokes.

King Boy on Parole (King Boy Pato), Friday, 28 August 2009 08:19 (sixteen years ago)

Well, not secretly wishing but vocally complaining. It's the biggest game of the year in my family with me and my mum (Blues) vs me stepdad (Crows). Winner will have BRAGGIN' rights FOREVER.

King Boy on Parole (King Boy Pato), Friday, 28 August 2009 08:21 (sixteen years ago)

Marcia Hines doesn't want whitey to steal the black man's music, I hear. Personally I think she'd be better off letting it rip at say, The Hilltop Hoods, then a kid doing a RSL-standard cover of a Temptations classic which Barnsey probably did during his "Soul Deep" la belle epoque.

King Boy on Parole (King Boy Pato), Friday, 28 August 2009 12:16 (sixteen years ago)

when i was 12 or whatever i thought 'soul deep' was so fucken awesome!!

Korg Boy Polysix (haitch), Friday, 28 August 2009 12:33 (sixteen years ago)

My mum had a cassette copy in the car when I was 5 or whenever it was!!

King Boy on Parole (King Boy Pato), Friday, 28 August 2009 12:46 (sixteen years ago)

hi gaz!

morning mongs. how was weekendz? after all that stuff upthread i realised i was broek and just stayed home instead and programmed midi bass to SP songs

king boy pamito (electricsound), Sunday, 30 August 2009 22:50 (sixteen years ago)

Sand Pebbs and Black Cab were awesomesauce. Did not enjoy Espy security staff being cunce, had forgot theyre like that (they stole my drink because I dared wander out on the porch with it ffs). Ron Peno even got up and sang a song with em.

I'm bloody sore and exhausted now.

Spy in the Cab Sav (Trayce), Sunday, 30 August 2009 23:16 (sixteen years ago)

Also, hi gaz!!!

Spy in the Cab Sav (Trayce), Sunday, 30 August 2009 23:16 (sixteen years ago)

i was broek too so didn't do much other than a couple of errands on friday, attend a terrible 'dudes who've done a learn how to dj course playing their graduation sets' event with a friend who's just signed up for said course, and fall off the bike yesterday.

hi gaz if ur still reading!

Korg Boy Polysix (haitch), Monday, 31 August 2009 00:15 (sixteen years ago)

I discovered I was broke AFTER the weekend, when Rob goes "oh is rent due tomorrow, oops I dont have enough to cover my half"

&*%^%$

Spy in the Cab Sav (Trayce), Monday, 31 August 2009 00:21 (sixteen years ago)

you need to foot that one up the arse

Korg Boy Polysix (haitch), Monday, 31 August 2009 00:24 (sixteen years ago)

Oh well, looks like someone is selling a kidney!!

Don't Be A Ned Raggett (King Boy Pato), Monday, 31 August 2009 00:42 (sixteen years ago)

eh, its only cause we had a weird middle-month semi rent due and my payday falls just *after* the rents due (so does R's) but yeah, bit annoyed... all good though, it'll settle. We can cover it, just a day or 2 late is all.

Spy in the Cab Sav (Trayce), Monday, 31 August 2009 00:43 (sixteen years ago)

oh don't mind me. i just get paranoid baot that stuff - definitely don't want to give any reasons for the landlord to put any heat on!!

Korg Boy Polysix (haitch), Monday, 31 August 2009 00:59 (sixteen years ago)

Ya I hear you, I'm the same, esp because I'm sick of being moved on every 12 months rarrrrghhh.

Spy in the Cab Sav (Trayce), Monday, 31 August 2009 01:30 (sixteen years ago)

i'll be moving again at the start of next year. not really looking forward to it, and i'll miss certain aspects of the house, but it's not really a very nice place to live

king boy pamito (electricsound), Monday, 31 August 2009 01:31 (sixteen years ago)

it is really very surreal trying to explain (and teach) rhyming slang to a non-native english speaker..

Korg Boy Polysix (haitch), Tuesday, 1 September 2009 01:47 (sixteen years ago)

what's the damage report from the fall?

you should go for a massage

mince lice (electricsound), Tuesday, 1 September 2009 01:48 (sixteen years ago)

amirite

mince lice (electricsound), Tuesday, 1 September 2009 01:48 (sixteen years ago)

man, haven't had dece massage in aaaages

generally sore in the ribs on the right side. right palm and 'little finger' side of hand too - thinking this copped most of the impact. there's a light sorta bruise there but it wouldn't be obvious if you weren't looking. have given things a push but there's no sharp pain that'd suggest a break anywhere.

Korg Boy Polysix (haitch), Tuesday, 1 September 2009 01:56 (sixteen years ago)

I fell flat on my face/hands/knees once (tripped over drunk in the dark on a footpath, lol) and that made me sore in all my ligaments like elbows and shoulders for at least a week afterwards, just from the heavy jarring.

Spy in the Cab Sav (Trayce), Tuesday, 1 September 2009 02:04 (sixteen years ago)
