this is gonna be 2 hours of the naked borat scene amirite?

im genuinely surprised none of them died during filming, def way too old for this shit

ice cr?m, Monday, 13 September 2010 02:24 (fifteen years ago)

in all honesty the only things i ever liked were the publicity stunts. the gross-out stuff i'd fast forward thru w/ the dvd's, because even w/ my 4chan tolerance for most things, they just felt like wastes of time.

Jackass was the gayest show on television.

hey now hey now i still think jackass ranks in my top 10 tv shows ever. beats "candid camera" so bad.

xpost I should know!

Set the Controls for the Heart of the Baby Head Sun (corey), Monday, 13 September 2010 04:10 (fifteen years ago)

the clip they showed during the vmas was hilarious

J0rdan S., Monday, 13 September 2010 04:10 (fifteen years ago)

I can't wait for it!! Jackass is my Twinkie. I enjoy it in spite of, or maybe because it's the worst thing in the world.

VegemiteGrrrl, Monday, 13 September 2010 04:50 (fifteen years ago)

Also I have a major crush on Johnny Knoxville.

VegemiteGrrrl, Monday, 13 September 2010 05:05 (fifteen years ago)

Loved the first one, but I read a kind of meanness into the second one that made it less fun. The pranks are more about other people (incl. Jackass crew, who are willing participants of course) being brutalized vs. an individual designing a stunt to hurt himself.

lol.

I cannot wait for this. Seriously going to be the best film ever.

Also otm about its gayness but I always thought that 'ridiculously close male bonding through stupidity' was part of what made it so great and way less gross than its shittier rip-offs.

a hoy hoy, Monday, 13 September 2010 09:15 (fifteen years ago)

yes, the suspense factor similar to Lucille Ball doing slapstick in her 70s.

tangelo amour (elmo argonaut), Monday, 13 September 2010 13:29 (fifteen years ago)

the second one had extreme levels of meanness, although I sort of appreciated it because nobody was spared from it. the terrorist prank was next level nasty though.

turn in yer badge (San Te), Monday, 13 September 2010 13:29 (fifteen years ago)

The first one was a funny prank film, the second was like Cremaster level art archievement for all time.

I DIED, Monday, 13 September 2010 22:49 (fifteen years ago)

I saw the first one on dvd. I saw the second one in a crowded theater on opening day. It's hard not to favor the second one when you see it in that environment.

Also, making Bam cry is funnier than most stunts.

kind of shrill and very self-righteous (Dr Morbius), Tuesday, 14 September 2010 00:16 (fifteen years ago)

In the DVD version of "Jackass 2," Bam Margera (who, along with half of the show, went to my high school) announces that whenever the rainbow icon pops up, "we're about to get gay," and that anyone offended by "gayness" should turn away. So me thinks the "Jackass" crew is more than aware.

Anyway, this will be hilarious, as usual. I'm a big fan of the "Looney Tunes"-like booby traps, like the giant boxing glove that pops out of the wall and, in this trailer, the giant "high five!' hand.

Always wondered what the surviving Minutemen get from all the theme song usage...

"We were going to have just one bungee and knock (the portable bathroom) off a cliff or something," recalled "Jackass 3D" director Jeff Tremaine, describing what would have amounted to a giant septic yo-yo.

"But us being top physicists, we reverse-engineered it to have the bungees shoot the porta-potty into the air," said the movie's producer Spike Jonze.

Knoxville said last night on Jimmy Fallon that Jackass 3.5 will be out on dvd in January. 2.5 was every bit as good as the rest of the second film, so this is good news.

also, can i just say, good for sober steve-o! i was watching some special about the new movie last weekend, and apparently he's off not only the booze wagon but the painkillers of any kind wagon, too, for which he deserves additional credit by doing stunts like these. no idea whether or not this affected miller comping them unlimited high life again this time around.

What's your position on 3D, morbs?

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 14 October 2010 02:00 (fifteen years ago)

This is probably the first 3D movie that I've actually wanted/am excited to see in 3D. I'm picturing it sort of like seeing the Three Stooges in 3D. I'm hoping the 3D will heighten the funny. "Hoping".

I taste like the Tub Girl's back in "The Shining". (Jesse), Friday, 15 October 2010 17:48 (fifteen years ago)

Morbs, that was mostly directed at the fact that as they get older, their bones seem to be breaking a little easier. The fact that their stunts are less and less appropriate for men their age is referenced in the end credits montage, which gets all "family man" on us.

gay nerd fuel (Eric H.), Friday, 15 October 2010 18:16 (fifteen years ago)
