she might actually be attractive but I'm not sure because in every poster she looks like a total idiot

I voted for "killers" btw

Ugly Truth. very throwback late 80's/early 90's generic romantic comedy style poster, plus features other "I do only crap movies" actor Gerard Butler on it. at least some of the others have LOL value.

Ugly Truth's is just almost looking condescending in a "bet you haven't seen THIS trope before, oh we so clevurr" kinda way

she was pretty hot in My Father the Hero altho I was younger than her at the time so I'm not a creeper.

congratulations (n/a), Thursday, 7 October 2010 13:37 (fifteen years ago)

she is about as hot as it gets imo, i'll get over her pulling faces on dumb posters for dumb movies.

There's something kind of awful about the way she's stooped in that Life as We Know It poster. Like I get the rather unsubtle joke that she's taking care of two babies, but there's something extra-humiliating about the position. Reminiscent of Daddy Day Care/Camp posters, imo.

She seems like she might actually be pretty chill IRL, going by that interview Ned posted. An actress who's been around as long as she has been, and who waited so long for major success, would have to fight really hard to not seem jaded or uppity playing the game from the top of the mountain.

I don't mind her per se, but the manner in which she's sold out is pretty damn annoying. It's possible to make money AND be in good movies.

but pashmina, she SOLD OUT to MAKE LOTS OF MONEY in HOLLYWOOD

i mean, i dunno am i missing Heigl: Behind the Music with her years as an off-broadway sensation, but jeez I can't see how she's the butt of this kind of complaint ahead of soooo many others that

i) have more acting talent (by far)
ii) aren't NEARLY attractive enough to be making romantic comedies

i dont love everything, i love football (darraghmac), Friday, 8 October 2010 09:13 (fifteen years ago)

she just looks like she'd be irritating, despite the (kinda boring tbh) txtbook hotness. dunno if this is what 'dumb ass face' is getting at.

based on face it's killers, based on general hideousness it's caffeine. caffeine poster also has that disproportionately infuriating thing where they don't match the names to the heads - whyyyyyyy????

r|t|c, Friday, 8 October 2010 09:46 (fifteen years ago)

They have to put the star's name first but the star's face centre. I agree, it's really annoying and, if you don't already know the actors, very confusing.

wow
The film opened at one theater, Highland Village Park Theater in Dallas, Texas. It ran for six days, and made $30 at the box office. A crew member who took a friend got a refund, so the final domestic box-office gross was $20.

my sex drew back into itself tight and dry (abanana), Friday, 8 October 2010 12:47 (fifteen years ago)

The Dallas screening was never meant to be a real theatrical run. Instead, it was set up to fulfill a Screen Actors Guild agreement, which permits low-budget films to pay actors a lower rate as long as the film gets a domestic theatrical release. The Dallas ''opening'' was merely a formality. ''I didn't want an audience,'' says Grillo. ''We looked at it and said, What's the cheapest way we can get out of this mess? We rented the theater for $1,000.''
