a game isn't a meme. it's a game. parts of games (glitches, cheat sections, etc.) can become memes (drowning or perving on lara croft* is an og example) can be memes but games in themselves aren't memes. just because they are on a new format doesn't make them a meme.

on a similar scale, film isn't in itself a meme. take a film (avatar for example), the reaction to the film is often where the meme-fication takes place, in this case, the nerds who dressed up like smurfs and wished to go the fantasy world. alternatively, it can come from someone who made the film. take robert patterson says silly things that annoys twilight fans meme. twilight in itself is not a meme. it also applies to the avatar fan meme world, with the "team [x] v. team [y]" ting.

music is short enough that a song can become a meme. youtube has popularised this. icp going the chocolate rain route. but again, its all about the hysteria in most cases. this year it was tybg, in 1964 the beatles made a film not about themselves but about being chased every fucking where called a hard days night.

a scandalous or shocking act is often the best and easiest way to find a meme. especially if it is not that shocking and in fact, p tame. "lol ricky martin shocks the world, says hes gay" had potential this year, while "lol mia shoots gingers" was a full blown meme until we all noticed how shit her album was.

i helped teach ESL in Japan when I was a teenager, and those constructions are common mistakes that Japanese students would make -- that are related to the ways the two languages differ in sentence structure and also the relatively rote way that the English language was taught.

i spent some time a few years back teaching dogs to speak english and they made very similar mistakes. i figured that was what the meme was referring to but i guess if you look hard enough you can see anything you want.
