On the bus heading to Ottawa to see the parents/sisters for three days. This should be interesting. Children-of-divorce holiday ping pong should really be a sport.

well. u have to feel it, first - the alignment. and the breath is important, as it runs upward thru ur jaw. it has to be steady. then you tilt ur neck forward so that ur chin faces the ground. and u let it hang there for a minute. u let it relax and decompress, the weight of it resting forward and away from your shoulders. then u lift ur head up again, and let it fall to the right, then back, and then to the left, in a smooth motion, letting it go when you reach the front.

and there you have it.

I have been with guys of all sizes and shapes. I generally trend taller but height isn't really much of a consideration for me. (I'm 5'8".)

- The guys aren't as much heinous monsters as I expected from the previews, but they is no lack of nastiness and drama.
- Austin is by far the most adorable (I get really tired of snide remarks like "it looks like he ate his way through Europe!" and rejection from agents - he could gain 20 lbs afaiac), and the most insufferable.
-Reichen is the most sympathetic one, but it seems like he is starved for affirmation of his sex appeal, to the detriment of his relationship.
- There is far less sex - casual or otherwise - than I would expect from a reality show about a bunch of young, hot power gays. Are they really so chaste? Are the producers cleaning it up?
- The clothes and makeup some of these queens wear. WTF. Esp. Derek and Ryan. They might as well be wearing sack cloth as custom designed sheer tops and capris.

Had a mostly quiet NYE, lots of nice music chat with jaymc — afterwards the trains were fucked and it was impossible to find a cab anywhere. We finally found one after an hour (the temperature dropped like 20 degrees in a few hours and I was dressed for 50ºF weather).

Last night I was walking a block from my house with tears in my eyes after a friendship-ending fracas when some bizarre guardian angel shit happened. A handsome blond guy named Sebastian wearing a very nice suit asked if I was OK. I tried to brush him off, but he stopped me and hugged me and we wound up talking for about 10 minutes. He offered to buy me coffee or a drink, but nothing was open, so I went home. He was not drunk or on drugs and he said that he was just out for a walk. He was straight and he said he lived with his girlfriend a few doors down. He made some joke about wearing her out sexually, but then said "I'm really sorry, that was crass." We stood there on the street, him holding me, touching my head, and telling me it was all gonna be OK.

So....the boy I mentioned a little while ago is back from small-town Quebec! We were supposed to go to the orchestra tonight, but it was sold out (or at least student price tickets were. it is lame that MTL doesn't have the same day-of last-minute ticket system as Ottawa). So instead we had dinner and wine and talked for a couple hours and then [see TMI thread].

Um...yeah. Vague complication: his roommates, who he doesn't particularly care for and is only living with for another three months, don't know that he's gay? His whole family does and so do his friends both at home and at school and in the city, but not these guys who he lives with. Which would bother me a great deal if (a) I didn't reallly like this guy, (b) the roommates in question didn't include the offspring of a member of the federal gov't who is fairly notoriously homophobic (not that his spawn are necessarily, but still), (c) I'm pretty convinced, given the conversation about it that we had today, and the handful of mentions later on in the evening, that his closeted-to-roommates-ness is unlikely to last more than a couple of weeks. I'm the first guy he's seen since he started living with them, and the reality of the situation's absurdity hadn't fully dawned on him perhaps. I remain hopefuly (or deluded).

If so, I have been really, seriously misunderstanding a lot of references to them! "Council estates" sounds very fancy and aristocratic to me! yeah, it sometimes is the loss of both people. i actually feel like some of the anger/jealousy i have towards m4tt is based on the fact that i do feel like he lost something that was great and could have continued being great. our sex was incredible and obviously, our friendship is amazing. what keeps me from getting worked up about it is that i realize that a) during our time as a couple, he definitely got stuck on smack again; b) he got out of a 4-year relationship 3 months before we started dating; and c) we definitely were much more closed off from other people than we should have been.

all of these factors point more towards the thought that we got together during a lovely glowing period, but in reality, it wasn't the right time for him. which is fine. we worked together all day today, then drank beer and ate some mexican at our favorite place.
