i can look okay when I'm posing, but that's about it. At the right angle, with the right light, and close up (v important - I *think* it's better to be good looking close up and ming from a distance rather than vice versa), yeah, I'm alright. But quantifying it - I am bald, have a weird shaped head, double chin, big nostrils, droopy eyes, gappy teeth - it's hard to see *why* it sometimes seems to work. But I guess it does. Occasionally.

Oh, I also have a decent body shape. Tallish, defined waist, broad shoulders, good legs. I'm not buff, though, more weedy, But my BUM is actually quite hefty. Child-bearing.

It is? I don't think is the same thing as "attractive" btw. I'm not saying I think you do, of course. Just that I think "sexy" is a response a person has for something about another person in a specific moment. It can be something not normally considered "sexual" at all, how are you supposed to know what's going to make someone have that response to you in any given second?

Yeah, it's all about feeling. I just fundamentally disagree with the sexy-comes-from-others -- imo sexy exists entirely independently of other people. It comes from inside and everyone has it. Some people like to wear it on the outside and other people don't, but everyone has the potential just like everyone has the potential to engage in sexual activity.

the problem I see with the question is that it asks the wrong person. unless we are excited by the idea of having sex with ourselves, we won't necessarily see ourselves as sexy. the u&k question is whether others think we're sexy. this occurance is always mysterious, but gratifying.

The most I/we can really hope for is to be sexy to someone else who we also think is sexy, and I guess the true believer thing to say is that you only need to find one of that person, so I guess the odds aren't so bad.

It may be at least somewhat contextual. If I was just one short & bald dude in a room full of same, I could probably hold my own. In most other contexts, though, I don't feel like I stand out enough to even register with most people, let alone stand out to anyone as legitimately sexy.

Of course smart, interesting ppl are sexy...to someone, at some moment, is that I'm trying to say. That seems like the more real kind of sexy that matters, as opposed to maybe representing sexiness to a lot of people you don't care about or want to have sex with? When you're being really YOU and that gets someone's attention and pushes their buttons that's not being a potato! But neither did it require you to "feel sexy" to do it, or at least there are a lot of routes to being unselfconscious and in a good place that don't have to do with anything about sex.

My conga line of reasoning is going multiple places and not very well; I still feel like maybe we're just using different words for feeling good about yourself in various ways, but maybe I think that because I'm a Puritan at heart.

i feel like one of the most excruciating things about society is people trying to be sexy all the time, manifesting itself in a lot of humorless set in stone expressions and people walking around like the sidewalk is a catwalk or generally just instagramming themselves in unintentionally hilarious ways.

I find all kinds of non-trad sexiness sexy (I'm attracted to all kinds of offbeat people/tropes/looks) but I'm not generally impressed by anyone in that "trying too hard while they're struttin' down the sidewalk" mold. I live in hope that there are a decent number of people out there of a similar bent but such has sadly not been my experience.

Positive no one here thinks that is the full range, or even WITHIN range, of "sexy" although it is a cunning red herring socially speaking.
