breyers mint chip is kinda one of my favorite things but in general i don't buy any other breyers cuzza the whole ice milk consistency. this consistency works wonderfully with mint chip, however. kinda chalky but in a good way.

I adore peppermint but it's almost imposh to find except during the holidays (although someone on some thread tried to get me to believe a small regional company makes it year round, but they're in like MN or something?).

My all-time fave is Hudsonville Double Chocolate Almond, but no one else makes it.

i am a little obsessed with vanilla. my girlfriend's brother calls me 'the vanilla guy' and sometimes asks her if i'm still "into" vanilla. he sent me some for christmas, once.

Back at Christmas, Great Lakes Brewing Co. here in Cleveland teamed up with a local ice cream place, Mitchell's, to make an ice cream from their annual Christmas Ale, with ginger snaps in it. It was soooooooo good. Another local place has been selling a chocolate ice cream made with Left Hand Milk Stout that's pretty good.

Anyway, mint chocolate chip is OK, but all in all I'd still rather have a really, really well-made vanilla. With a little honey on it.

Mint Chip is probably my favorite. Actually there is this place (or about 100 places tbh) here that do soft serve mixed with toppings of your choice and my fav is vanilla with Peppermint Patties mixed in. I <3 peppermint patties so much.

Best ice cream Ive ever had was an espresso flavour I made myself. It was so unlike any commercial icecream. So utterly rich and SO CAFFIENEY.

talenti does a sea salt caramel too. they have lots of flavors. caramel cookie crunch one is great too. i kinda like them all. so smooth and delish.

I tried one of those Talenti ones when I first got here, it was OK but not that memorable? Maybe it wasn't the best flavour. Anyway the screwtop means the container is useful afterwards!

Oh my, yes, fresh lemon juice on vanilla is great! It's best if it's not blended together so you get the smooth sweetness of the ice cream contrasting with the tang of the lemon juice. Super refreshing.

Dulce de leche isn't exactly caramel, by the way. It's caramelized sweetened milk. I prefer it to basic sugar caramels most of the time.

Well caramelization is the browning of sugars in all its forms, it's just the dairy that seems to irk you.

I can kind of see that since to me one of the definitions of revolting food is someone spooning sugared butter into their mouth out of a bowl.

But I guess if you fried the sugared butter, I'd be okay w/it, which kind of troubles me.

For me it's like: You have this sweetened dairy product called ice cream, to which you add...another sweetened dairy product. That's like putting rice on pizza imo.

I used to love cherry ice cream, but once I got a large quantity of Burgundy Cherry at Baskin Robbins and ate it all during a long hot drive. Will leave the rest of the story to the reader's imagination.

BTW have you guys ever tried clotted cream ice cream? It's a specialty of south-west england. Clotted cream/ Devonshire cream is what you have on scones as a cream tea and in ice cream it's the creamiest thing imaginable.
