msnbc: The Place for POLLitics

Joe Scarborough seems like a dude with a dead hooker in his past.

My only experiences with Morning Joe come from the Daily Show clips and that bit from last week where everyone sat around awkwardly when Chris Matthews went apeshit on that RNC Chairman.

hayes, maddow & harris-perry are totally awesome. the only watchable hosts on cable news, and some of the best major political commenters imo

i voted for hayes cuz he's cute

never seen hayes show so no idea how we works on tv but enjoy his writing and credit him w/ the nation doing a sports issue which will continue to amuse me for a long time.

yeah i like Hayes. i have a lot of respect for Maddow, but there is something slightly off-putting about her. she's got a smart-ass/ silly thing that i personally don't mind watching but she sure as shit isn't going to win over any converts. not her mission though so eh

unfortunately his show is on at pre-sunrise hours on weekends. i'll catch some segments online tho.

was sorta interested in alex wagner cuz she used to exec edit the fader but she seemed really hacky on bill maher recently

Wagner mostly just mediates the guests so I can't get a read on her editorially but I also have a mad crush on her + amusing to hear Floating Points or whatevs going into ad breaks

Chris Hayes' show is the only one sharp enough for me to actually stream three days later.

And it got me to read his new book.

Hayes' downfall is he looks exactly like -- the resemblance is scary -- one of my best bros, also a denizen of DC; my friend is often confused for Hayes when in Dupont Circle.

yeah i haven't seen wagner's show but on maher she was, like, trumpeting up obama killing al-awlaki and stuff. maybe she's still trying to find her voice tho, i'm not sure how long she's been doing cable news.

she wasn't at all cool with the killing citizens and we're not going to tell you why it is legal thing, and i think she had greenwald on to talk about it. can't remember though.

Being essentially cableless, I do not have MSNBC or FOX either. The only person mentioned in this poll who I have seen in action is Maddow. She didn't seem especially awful in the few minutes I have been exposed to her.

I like Rachel Maddow a lot, and Chris Hayes too (but like J0rdan said, his show comes on at a ridiculous hour on weekends). Alex Wagner seems way too ideological, even for msnbc.

I think one of the only areas in which NBC wins out is in the nightly news sector. Brian Williams seems to be liked by most everyone, but he's nowhere near having the influence of Walter Kronkite.

Brian Williams is scary because he's a blank. Remember when crusty William Holden complained about TV babies? He meant Brian Williams. The guy offers no inflections, turns of phrase, or even warmth. He's a guy with varnished looks who reads briefs.

MHP for the win - her weekend show is awesome, they get all liberal arts seminar academic instead of just arguing about the news of the day. I like Hayes' weekend show too but I haven't seen it as much since it's on so early.

Maddow is so good at television and as an anchor of MSNBC election/convention coverage. I def enjoy watching her show but it gets a little cutesy and aggravating when she spends whole segments on silly stuff - soundbites of the day blown out of proportion, that sort of thing.

Haven't seen any of these folks since cutting cable almost a year ago. Voted for Tamron Hall because she's ridiculously hot.

Another Jennings fan. One of my mom's formative childhood experiences was watching Jennings run through the jungle in Vietnam trying not to get shot. Kinda hard to imagine any of the above doing that.

I record Up or just watch it online. It also neatly contains my msnbc watching to two days a week. I like that they can look back on a story and discuss it rather than covering the daily bullshit. I hope it stays a panel.

Kornacki can be okay-ish on election breakdowns sometimes, but other than that there is nothing good about The Cycle from what I've seen.

I'll miss Up, but anything that gets Ed Schultz off the air is a good thing.
