So I was in a steam room yesterday and a guy comes in, stares at me and says "You look like Ant and Dec". To which I replied "Which one". He said "BOTH!"

*oh the shame*

Other times folk have labled me a look-a-likey of Brett Anderson, Jaime Harding and (once) Bill Clinton!

1) When i was little (6 or so) my brother and sister used to tell me i looked like Woody Allen. I had no idea at that point who he was but knew it couldn't be good if they were comparing us (evil older siblings)

2) While paying the bill in a restaurant in NYC, the cashier told me i looked like a cross between "a handsome sammy davis jr and robert de niro in angel heart"

When i looked dubious she insisted it was a compliment but i can't even imagine how someone could come up with that combo.

I bank teller who I got friendly with back in the 70's once smiled and told me I looked like someone famous....then she said "Charles Manson". What bothered me most was not the comparison but that she said it as if she thought it was a compliment.

A father-in-law to be saw me for the first time and said, "Jesus Christ"....then he explained that, to him, I LOOKED like Jesus Christ.

A barmaid I was friendly with (70's) said I reminded her of someone...I was expecting someone hippie looking because of the beard and hair....she said I sounded like "John Dean" of Watergate Fame. Until that time, I'd never thought of myself speaking in a monotone.

Oh boy, one of those "early posts" from me on this forum is on this thread. Almost seven months ago and I've certainly gotten much better at reading previous posts before posting something on my own.

Right now I do indeed think I look like a cross between Linda Ronstadt and Selena Quintanilla (back when she was alive, of course -- deceased and we're getting into totally disgusting territory). Which sucks bigtime because that means I've got a case of how much more bloody ethnic can I possibly look? Grrr. I surprise no one. Hmph.

I've been told on separate occasions that I look like Dennis Quaid, Kiefer Sutherland, and Ashton Kutcher. This seems like an impossible combination to me. I can see Dennis Quaid, but the others, no.

I was also once told by a woman on the phone that I have "a nice voice" and that it sounds like "Sylvester Stallone." I disagree with this too. I guess to her deep voice=Sly Balboa?

A mate of mine looks like Rowan Atkinson too. He can be a bit mouthy, likes to dish out abuse in the name of craic. Once me, him and some pals were on the tube, and a third mate got all giggly about something silly. Atkinson-mate saw the chance to move in for the kill. He turned to a big poster with a buffoonish, grinning face and was all: "this is what you're like". It was Mr Bean's face. It was a beautiful moment.

Daniel Vettori and I were ringers in our late teenage days, when he was an international-class cricketer and I was a bum. To the extent that for a time, when I didn't have a digital camera, I had a picture of him c&p'ed into my cv.

Oddly it was a guaranteed bye through any sifting process. I was always terrified I'd be rumbled but it never happened.

People used to tell me I looked like Michael Cera quite a bit, especially when I had a bit more meat on me. I was once on the SkyTrain and a girl followed me out and said "Hi". I immediately knew what it was about and was just waiting for her to say it. All the while I was thinking what I could say to not embarrass her.

Now it's Lionel Messi.

I don't really see any of them, to be honest. I've also been told I have a very..."common"(? maybe generic?) face, so I get mistaken for a lot of other people.

I think I've said before but I get compared to celebrities all the fucking time, usually by strangers (eg just now in the pub, drunk guy just saw me & yelled "it's mark bolan!")

Charles II, Jesus Christ, Che Guevara, D'Artagnan, Russell Brand, Frank Zappa, Eddie Vedder, John Lennon, Stephen O'Malley, Hagrid, Johnny Depp, "the fat guy from lost" and Vasco Da Gama are among the ppl I've been told I look like. Also last month I was told I was the exact double of Ross Noble - by Ross Noble.

Vincent Kartheiser with no hair is the nearest Celebrity WDYLL match I could personally get with. Lazier bods have said Moby, perhaps dozens of times over, because bald + white = Moby regardless of whether you resemble him in any other respect.
