furthermore i think it is telling that iatee is trying to woo you all with social issues such as avatars. ilxors are worried about their bottom lines...whether their friends will be safe from bannings. people like iatee in their ivory towers cannot relate to the average poster.

bnw, thanks for your profound question. it's a question that affects all of us, and gets to the heart of the ilx experience - how can i contribute the least to the community yet get the most out of it? the answer is simple, which is that we need to get the moderators off our backs! as i've explained, the policies of the past have not been kind to the posters the average ilxor wants to read - my opponent would like to go back to to the activist moderation policies of the past, and we just can't afford that! take whiney g weingarten for example. here's a guy who just wants to zing forks and britishes while he waits in line for his sub at subway. people who post earnestly in boring ILM threads have done great under previous regimes, and will likely continue to do fine under my or any administration. these are people who don't need help and who haven't asked for it. but whiney can't afford what iatee is selling - his new family can't afford that. and ilx can't afford that. ilx needs a moderator that will take it into the future, and it needs your help. thanks again for your great question.

bnw here is my 3 point plan to increase mod response rates:

1. let's take mod jobs back from overseas. why do we have mods in australia and england? these are jobs hard-working americans can and should do
2. let's start using performance metrics to reward the good mods and fire the bad ones

somehow I cant imagine anyone wanting me to be a mod vg so I wouldn't worry about it.
I do think the mods should be banning people if they overstep the set boundaries instead of the current "poster has to request they ban someone" which I think is wrong completely. I wouldn't want to ban anyone.
Nor would I want to mod or consider myself right for the job of modding anyway.

semi-seriously I do like the idea of one of the spots on the mod roster being democratically elected every year. would reflect ILX's democratic values and hopefully all the lurkers would come out and vote for H4a.
