Bread is by some distance the least exciting of these BUT it's also the hardest to imagine cutting out of my life. Like, daily life without sandwiches or toast or anything eaten in a bun. That's A LOT of stuff out of the window.

Cheese I'd miss a lot but I could deal with it, although life without pizza would be hard. Wine is obviously sublime but other booze exists.

So best of the three = wine. Hardest to live without = bread. I have no idea what to vote for.

Although if unleavened bread is still on the table then I'm voting wine.

CHEESE. I love cheese.

idgi wine, i guess i see how people can choose the thing which has some concretely transcendent, altering effect just because of its potential, fine, but cheese why are you choosing cheese, cheese instead of bread, bread is like such a small distance away from the raw idea of human potential & resourcefulness & cheese is just yellowed milk, just like leave some milk around and see what happens eat it in a sandwich because sandwiches need something in them cheese

i can eat cheese on crackers and as long as i'm allowed pitta and naan and so on i'll get by without leavened bread, tell me i can't ever eat cheese again and i don't wanna live anyway. wine has always been my friend but i know it'll understand why we can't be together.

I love cheese but it's so unhealthy that I avoid it apart from at Christmas, or a v occasional pizza. I actually don't eat much bread either, for similar reasons, tho I love a good loaf.

So I'm going to say wine, which obviously isn't healthy either, but not a staple food.

This is what sealed it for me -- with cheese, you can still have good beer and crackers or something.

fresh bread is most excellent stuff to eat, but if there were none to be had, there are adequate substitutes. i love wine and at present I drink a glass of wine with dinner every night. if i had to scrape by with beer and liquor, I could. i would feel injured and impoverished, but not mortally wounded.

cheese cannot be adequately replaced by anything else. if it disappeared, the only resort would be to imposters who could not even begin to replace cheese. i would be inconsolable.

i was starting to agree with you because of pizza but there's no pizza w/o bread anyway but you can make pizza w/ neither cheese / fake cheese and it's still pretty fucking great

there's practically no cheese-based food you can eat w/o bread unless you're just talking meat stuffed with cheese or vegetables slathered in cheese ... you couldn't even enjoy a fondue

here, eat this forkful of brie w/o bread

so mad if cheese wins this through being the least replaceable, rather than the thing of greatest worth

that is a little unfair but not totally unfair to cheese imo

cheese def can be enjoyed alone but its way more context dependent than the other two

the thing with bread though is who ever eats bread FOR ITSELF, on its own? like, just a hunk of bread. i mean, i do, but only because it's cheap and in front of me at those times. cheese and wine do not need help to be great.

I would miss a good Sourdough load though. I can very easily eat that on its own.
