My critters seem content with Meow Mix Seafood Medley, plus about 1/4 can of Friskies wet food each morning. I get the pate instead of shreds because it's easier to portion out. If I give them more than that, Harvey horps his up. Tidy Cats litter deodorizer is a good occasional addition to the litter box, usually whenever we have to add litter.
Congrats on kitteh! They love it when you point at them and say "hey, you've got some poop on your upper lip." Especially when they don't.

we actually found a new home for our dog and got kittens. and i'm much happier now. and the dog is too. because now she lives with another dog who looks just like her and she gets to run outside more. she was 65 pounds of non-stop energy, power, and strength. and she wss locked inside our house all day every day. suburban life is no life for a dog. i tried really hard with the dog but i am not a dog person. i feel like i could have ten cats. i understand the love that dog people have for dogs. i feel that way about records. and, uh, my kids.

I use Tiki Cat wet food and Taste of the Wild kibble. The rescue people gave me some Fancy Feast but it made me nauseous. Tiki Cat is more like real food.

we're using science diet mature adult active longevity for the dry food. and we bought a bunch of different kinds of wet food to see what she'll go for. for litter, fresh step odor shield unscented.

she's a bit better today. she had an infection; the doctor gave her an antibiotic.

Let me ask a cat related question since I have you all here...I am on the verge of getting another kitty (lost my last two who each died prematurely). In each case, my last two cats REALLY did not appreciate loud music...does anyone else have this problem? I live in a tiny apartment and seriously consider not getting another cat because it makes me sad that they get so anxious when I blare music, which is most days...any input would be appreciated!

we're still looking for a wet food josie will eat. we tried a brand called fussie cat. she had some of the first can we gave her but she subsequently seemed to lose interest. the person at the cat adoption center said to keep trying different foods and eventually josie will like one of them.

I recommend Sheba. It's the only wet food my cats will consistently eat. Francie likes the chicken and turkey pâté varieties and it's got good nutritional info (high protein, low carb, correct amount of water) for grocery store food. Also it's available at grocery stores, which is nice and easy.

she is a delight.
she loves that air mattress in the den, too. it's her favorite place to nap when we have the a/c on in the living room and bedroom. she's hanging out behind the guitars less now.

One of the animal charities that I have membership in (the ASPCA) has online info regarding “Feeding Older Cats” (cats that are 7-to-12 years old) at http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/cat-care/feeding-older-cats. The ASPCA also has online info regarding “What to choose when cat litter is on your shopping list” at http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/cat-care/cat-litter. am.curious.sometimes: there's one brand of dry food, a Petsmart house brand, that she'll eat consistently. So we stock up on that; one large bag lasted her three whole months! She won't touch wet food, thus far, but she drinks a lot of water.
We use the world's best cat litter (no seriously - the brand is called World's Best Cat Litter) and it works fine.
Gave her a full-on medical checkup a few weeks back, and she's in excellent health for a 10-year-old cat.
Twitter account? Maybe so, but then again anything posted to the FB page generally finds its way to this thread, as well... thanks for the interest, though!

She did indeed voluntarily and willfully rest her chin upon the brush we had just finished brushing her with.
She doesn't often go for the whole "sit in seemingly highly uncomfortable/awkward places or positions" thing that cats typically do, so this is a rare example of her performing feline positions of highly dubious alleged comfort.
