also those who can call a song with the lyrics 'come around to your house and fuck your ho' (paraphrase) the most 'euphorically romantic of recent years', but then with ilm you come to expect the unexpected, and woe betide anyone who doesn't sing about baking pies

PORC EPIC SAVVAGE (imago), Thursday, 9 April 2015 22:46 (ten years ago)

I feel like I might be able to appreciate this stuff if I pretend it's some new and thought-provoking pc music concoction. but I really don't have the patience for that kind of thought experiment when the emceeing is 'rolling fuck this shit worst songs of 2015' caliber and the lyrics are just as abhorrent as meta/ironic commentary (if that's what ilm is rationalizing it as) as they are at face value.

but this thread is heading dangerously close to trenchant warfare so I'll just shrug and say it's not for me

i so pictured an epic about the two dueling sledgehammer comedian brothers. which i would stand in line to see. that's how you know i am not from the u.k.

yeah sorry about the hipster titles. sometimes i do stuff without thinking. a mod could change them. that's fine with me.

a good 25% of the music I listen to is corny unchallenging singer-songwriter fluff, but this stuff is too bland even for me. if I'm in the mood for p4k-era freak folk, I'll listen to something truly fucked up like Spires That in Sunset Rise, not Feist in Wednesday Addams costume or whatever vibe she's going for

how to diss a peer completely (unregistered), Wednesday, 7 February 2018 18:00 (seven years ago)

xp - I go back and forth, the movie thread titles attempt to be clever, but in a way they aren't much different than "Best album from the 2017 ILM EOY album poll that received only ONE top 3 weighted vote" which does have an honesty in its favor. I guess it depends how much you value truth in advertising
