Voting will start right away and will be open until the 12th
results roll out 15th (maybe the 13th as tradition of starting right away it all depends)

*I suggest you use the nominations period to 'study' as it's a week only for voting due to time constraints (Plus whether its a month or a week everyone leaves it to the last minute anyway)

'Luonnon harmonia ja vihreä liekki' is by Abyssion not byssion ffs. They're like a rawer Oranssi Pazuzu in any case.

I'd recommend Nameless Coyote - Blood Moon because it's gotten pretty much ignored everywhere, though I can hear why, it's way too weird for the normal blackgaze crowd. It ain't Deafheaven that's for sure. Anyone who likes Mamaleek and/or Pyramids should give it a go though.

Genevieve - Escapism is a great example of the dissonant warped post-BaN sort of thing, and Awe - Providentia is in many ways very much an "orthodox" bm record but it's very good for it and doesn't sound like a lesser Deathspell like a lot of these bands tend to. I kept forgetting to bring it up in the rolling metal thread.

This has been a really strong year for metal. Just like every other year.

MC Dälek told me after the London gig yesterday that Blut Aus Nord had proposed a collaboration a few years ago, but hadn't turned up to their Paris show, or rather had sent a friend instead that might have been him, and was generally just too weird. Pity coz that'd have been amazing

Quite like that Sunpocrisy, even though it's a bit shiny by my usual standards. And they really need to work on naming things, the band name and title are both pretty awful.

I love Maladie's albums but the production, esp on the new one, makes my ears bleed. I like how they combine as many languages as they do metal subgenres, though.

It has to be done before the main poll and when you run it the week before the main poll it gets overshadowed by the other poll and people cant be arsed voting in both esp when voting is open for both at the same time.

That hasnt actually happened before . Albums dont usually come out that late.

I dont want to postpone the poll until january as guys like phil have said they feel burnt out by then and dont vote and that is why i changed the dates a year or 2 ago to accommodate them.

Plus the big EOY poll overshadows it and this way it fives people a few weeks to check out and discuss the poll results.

If guys like phil say they will still vote then id be open to changing it as long as thats ok with seandalai
