ILM's 2015 End of Year Albums & Tracks Poll / NOMINATIONS THREAD

We're sticking with the max of 30 nominations since that worked out well the previous three years. You can split that down with middle with 15 albums and 15 tracks, or you can break down that number in any way that satisfies you (all albums, all tracks, or any split that adds up to 30). Things to keep in mind when you nominate, especially if you don't do it all at once:

Label your ALBUMS and your TRACKS lists. gr80, seandalai and I hear a whole bunch of music, but we're not familiar with everything. This helps out a great deal.

Format your nominations in this order:
Artist - Album
Artist - Track
(NEVER Album - Artist or Track - Artist... not only is this an archivist's nightmare, but it's also harder on us when trying to make a proper nominations list.)

So, now nominations are open! They will close at 7pm EST on Saturday, January 2, 2016 (that's midnight for the Britishes and 4pm for our friends on the left coast of the US).

Please ctrl+f the thread or check the spreadsheets linked below before submitting your nominations. We may not catch all the doubles that pop up, but we try.

imho both should be okay - MIDI Mariah is clearly a new thing and not a reissue and until Awesome Tapes no one had ever heard or heard of the Ata Kak and this is its official release - essentially year of impact as these things go. same reason i nom'd the ami shavit. i wanted to nom the david borden too but i'm not 100% clear on its status vis-a-vis the original 1981 Red Records release - it does seem like it got a round a bit more than the ata kak + shavit (i've def heard a vinyl rip of the original).

I remember I voted for the Wicked Witch record the year it came out, but iirc that was a previously-uncollected album, not a reissue. Personally I'd rather keep reissues out of the poll. This is partly informed by the fact that I love that Mariah record and it's easily top-five in terms of how good the music is, but... it's not top anything of 2015, it's top of 1983. I don't want to have to discard it if it's deemed to count, but I don't want to have to include it.

“I recorded this in the camps,” he explained. “It was night so I had to play quietly.”

Abba didn’t have enough songs on his own phone to make up an album, so he called all his friends together to meet that night to get the different songs they had on their phones. After Chris had copied all the songs available, Abba pulled out his guitar and played for a couple of hours. His friends switched their phones back on, threw them onto the floor to record what he was playing.

Chris says the album is a homage to recording and listening to music on cellphones. Sure, it’s lo-fi: you’ll hear the occasional dog bark, pot clank or children laughing. But it’s also raw and hypnotic – the aural equivalent of watching a fire.

yeah i was def surprised not to see this nominated yet when i did mine, easily the future song i encountered in the wild the most (and if my personal fav is "i serve the base" then this was by far the best of his actual hits)

I'm not saying if you have a favorite album cut don't rep for it. I've nommed and voted for album cuts when they stood out above the rest of their album. It's just the people who nom a whole bunch of songs from the same album that confuse me.
