C'mon, there's no way Cream is worse than Blind Faith (and I prefer Winwood to Clapton, Bruce and Baker).

Halfway there but for you, Friday, 1 January 2021 00:52 (five years ago)

A lot depends on whether you are just counting good songs, or if you are counting bad songs as minuses.

30. Ginger Baker's Airforce

While Airforce did not have Clapton, it did have more Ginger Baker drum solos, the crapulent haplessness of which outstrips that of even Clapton’s playing. So no, Airforce was not better than Cream.

Swen, Thursday, 21 March 2024 14:38 (two years ago)

woah a Cream song just came on and it might've been the worst song i've ever heard

Swen, Thursday, 21 March 2024 14:41 (two years ago)

listen to Cream covers. they are always better. there is no bad soul/funk/jazz cover of sunshine of your love. they all kinda rule.

scott seward, Thursday, 21 March 2024 14:56 (two years ago)

The guitar riff in Sunshine of Your Love is a blues riff that manages to not sound bluesy. It gives me the image of Frankenstein trying and badly failing to quietly creep down a staircase.

longtime caller, first time listener (man alive), Thursday, 21 March 2024 15:07 (two years ago)

it feels like pop-blues. in a good way.

weirdly though I hate just about every cover of it. other than Earth Crisis's, which is funny.

CEO Greedwagon (Neanderthal), Thursday, 21 March 2024 15:24 (two years ago)

One of my core tapes in middle school was a Cream best-of, and these songs have been popping into my head lately (“Badge,” “White Room,” “Anyone for Tennis,” “Sunshine…”); I haven’t heard most of them in decades. I should revisit, if only to complete the circuit…

let’s get intertwined (morrisp), Thursday, 21 March 2024 15:37 (two years ago)

I did a count in my head, and there are only 43 bands better than Cream. They're great.

clemenza, Thursday, 21 March 2024 15:37 (two years ago)

My appreciation of ZZ Top and Foghat has gained recently, so I thought I’d give Fresh Cream a try again. No dice. I like Jack Bruce’s voice and odd songwriting, but all the blues covers are dire. I really dislike Clapton’s guitar tone, and Ginger drums like a bull in a china shop most times. “Toad” is really bad.

Requiem for a Dream: The Musical! (Dan Peterson), Thursday, 21 March 2024 16:53 (two years ago)

they should have stole hendrix's drummer.
