Shaboozey was fun, there was a variety show-style set poking fun at the idea that he was the only country act ("Coachella's Country Hour"). He seemed genuinely touched by the crowd singing his big hit.

I've never been to Coachella and probably never will since it's on the opposite side of the country, but it's got Sabrina, Young Thug, NIN/Boyz Noize, the xx, Turnstile, David Byrne, FKA twigs, Addison Rae, Ethel Cain, Alex G, PinkPantheress, Blood Orange, Geese, Dijon, Wet Leg, Oklou, CMAT, Wednesday, Blondshell, and Jane Remover among others. I'm just not sure what huge swaths of artists y'all are clamoring to see that aren't there.

Lambrini Girls announced on their other Instagram this morning that they will no longer be performing at Coachella and have rescheduled their upcoming North American tour due to a neck fracture in Phoebe Lunny that went undiagnosed for some time.

Speculation had been brewing ever since Coachella released its official set times, and fans on social media and Reddit noticed that Lambrini Girls had been removed from the schedule. With the band’s very vocal stance against Donald Trump, ICE, and their advocacy for Palestine, fans felt the removal was due to visa issues by the Trump administration. Some thought maybe Coachella had decided to take Lambrini Girls off the lineup due to their advocacy for Palestine, others called out billionaire Philip Anschutz through his company, Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), which owns Coachella, noting his conservative ties and political donations. While all those reasons aren’t far-fetched, apparently, none are the reason why Lambrini Girls are off Coachella.

bieber was ok overall but definitely odd. i liked that he played a lot of the best stuff from swag & swag ii. acoustic stuff was boring though and youtube karaoke was a weird way to play the hits and it got really weird when he decided to spend a bit of time playing that paparazzi clip of him last from last year, and then that old double rainbow viral video (not the song)

i feel like bieber's set wasn't like that because audiences have different expectations for male vs. female pop singers - people are largely saying bieber's set was weird & disappointing - it's more that he's at a weird turning point in his career where he doesn't care at all about the expectations for a coachella set and there's nothing to make him care. like, if he stays on this trajectory then he'll likely slowly fade away from the mainstream pop world (despite making some of the best music of his career) but if he does go that way this is only right at the start of that

In order to say it has something to do with gender, I think you would need to have more examples to show a pattern. Maybe people are thinking of the Frank Ocean performance from a few years ago? But that caused a big backlash, as I recall. So it doesn't seem like a case of different expectations.

a single Youtube comment saying "go girl! give us nothing!" became a stan culture meme and made Dua Lipa really step up her dancing and performance.

None of the "big pop girlies" would be allowed to entertain doing such a half-hearted show even if it would be as good as what Bieber gave the audience.

i was into Oklou's performance, basically just showed up dressed like a grunge singer and delivered something really compelling. FKA twigs was good but it was a little overwhelming, my favorite part was actually without her, when there was a mid-set dance-off with some just devastatingly wild moves. I saw Cobrah long enough to see Grimes show up for a cameo to perform a song they collaborated on. overall she was a bit try-hard, then Grimes showing up just made me question her overall. Samia was vv good, i thought. Wet Leg was excellent, just a really legit performance from a band i've never really spent much time thinking about, but maybe i should start.

This year was better than 2025. Since this is fresh in my mind and spent way too much time watching.

Caught a bit of Slayyyter, she was pretty good. Sabrina Carpenter put on an incredible show, tho Madonna took the wind out of the sails for several minutes there. Otherwise it was some amazing old school showbiz razzle dazzle, probably will go down as legendary. The XX was really great, I thought they were good weekend 1 as well. Turned on Teddy Swims and I lasted ten seconds, because the button on the remote didn’t respond right away.

I'm only watching one act per day, last night it was Sabrina Carpenter. Kacey Musgraves is about to start and tuning in. I might watch NINoize again too.
