― boners for bombs (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 13 October 2026 10:05 (two weeks ago)

it's a fun mashup, does exactly what the name says and does it pretty well

― ufo, Tuesday, 13 October 2026 10:09 (two weeks ago)

but it turns out that was a tie

― ufo, Tuesday, 13 October 2026 10:36 (two weeks ago)

this one's an uncanny simulacrum of the 80s but it's pretty good at that, it worked much better than most of the other fake-80s remixes initial talk did that blew up on social media like a decade ago

― ufo, Tuesday, 13 October 2026 10:40 (two weeks ago)

last one for now

― ufo, Tuesday, 13 October 2026 11:52 (two weeks ago)

2 of mine placed so far, Padam Padam and Put Yourself In My Place. Surprised it’s as many that as there’s so many remixes to choose from.

― Dan Worsley, Tuesday, 13 October 2026 11:57 (two weeks ago)

None of mine placed so far!

― Bob Karol G (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Tuesday, 13 October 2026 12:00 (two weeks ago)

46 different remixes were voted for, these are just where we had the tiniest amount of consensus

― ufo, Tuesday, 13 October 2026 12:04 (two weeks ago)

Can't Get Blue Monday Out Of My Head was played during spinning class last night and it's been spinning in my head since

― willem, Tuesday, 13 October 2026 12:40 (two weeks ago)

All these remixes are good so far

― Michael F Gill, Tuesday, 13 October 2026 13:53 (two weeks ago)

there are lots of good remixes to choose from

― Bob Karol G (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Tuesday, 13 October 2026 15:54 (two weeks ago)

As I mentioned in the voting thread, I hadn't paid much attention to her remixes throughout the years so I had to do a lot of research before voting. She has a lot of really excellent ones.

I voted for the remix of Get Outta My Way which is so wonderful, the Dua Lipa mix and the Blue Monday remix. I assumed the latter would be a contender to win.

― kitchen person, Tuesday, 13 October 2026 18:48 (two weeks ago)

Weirdly, I didn’t think of ‘Can’t Get Blue Monday Out of My Head’ as a remix, but I guess it is. Would probably have voted for it.

― Dan Worsley, Tuesday, 13 October 2026 19:14 (two weeks ago)

I let time get away from me and only submitted a main ballot which is irritating cos I made a Remixes of Kylie playlist last year and it was there waiting for me to get round to it. I doubt this is a spoiler but if I'd managed to put one together I'd have had the Tom Middleton remix of Chocolate at number 1

I sent out this portion of the voting just because I hadn’t done enough of a deep listen to the remixes and I was less interested in getting my votes in for these, and more interested in the consensus from everybody else. Some good ones here!

In my haste I forgot to vote for the Fischerspooner remix, but that is an extremely deserving top 5.

I wish I heard the Chemical Brothers remix of "Slow" out in the wild more, every time I have people on the dancefloor have gone absolutely crazy.

Cool. "Slow" got really stale for me through workplace radio exposure (I'm tempted to blame Triple J, but it would been have a different workplace from the one where I last implicated Triple J in an unrelated thread, so maybe not) but this mix freshens it up sufficiently today.

― Nag! Nag! Nag!, Tuesday, 13 October 2026 23:19 (two weeks ago)

i doubt triple j would have played kylie back when "slow" came out

― ufo, Tuesday, 13 October 2026 23:21 (two weeks ago)

Yeah, I have doubts too, but I don't recall being force fed any other station during that period. There were definitely playing, say, St Etienne a little earlier, so it doesn't *quite* seem impossible. Maybe some commercial station and I've simply suppressed further memories.

― Nag! Nag! Nag!, Tuesday, 13 October 2026 23:31 (two weeks ago)

Both the Slow and 2 Hearts remixes turn the relevant songs into their opposites.

The Chemical Bros take a minimalist and deliberately restrained song and produce an overblown epic.

Studio take a song which is winkingly (perhaps eyerollingly) camp and theatrical, and isolate something innocent and intimate at its core (the key to its magic is the decision to exclude the “I’m in love - wooh” refrain).

― Tim F, Tuesday, 13 October 2026 23:34 (two weeks ago)

That's a fine choice for number one. I didn't know it before voting, but after a few recommendations on the voting thread it ended up being high on my list.

I was one of the number one voters for the Fischerspooner remix. I remember being blown away by the Top Of The Pops performance at the time.

my take away from going through a lot of her videos were that most of them are not very good (not terrible they're just not really doing much especially by pop star standards) but the fever videos really stand out as all being very cool

I voted for Some Kind of Bliss (chopped up and rearranged and repeated timeline, a mini film with pre-Lock Stock Dexter Fletcher as Kylie’s criminal lover), and On a Night Like This, which gets a lot of mileage out of Rutger Hauer’s presence and Kylie doing Sharon Stone in Casino.

― omar little, Wednesday, 14 October 2026 22:31 (two weeks ago)

The only surprise about “Come Into My World” is that there were seven music video ballots, and not every single one of them had a vote for it.

― omar little, Wednesday, 14 October 2026 22:32 (two weeks ago)

I felt a little underqualified to judge the videos so left it to the real headz. But "the one with the pedestrian crossings" was certainly the first to come to mind during the 27 or so seconds I considered it. (Also "that zero gravity one" -- "Put Yourself in My Place" apparently, which is seemingly way less popular.)

― Nag! Nag! Nag!, Wednesday, 14 October 2026 23:09 (two weeks ago)

I re-watched the Come Into My World video a few times recently as it's one my daughter's favourites and it really is one of the best videos of all time. It makes me love the song even more.

― kitchen person, Thursday, 15 October 2026 00:46 (one week ago)

I was the #1 voter for the "Slow" video. I find her totally mesmerizing in it.

I considered voting for the "Come Into My World" video because it's definitely technically impressive, but I don't think it fits the song especially well? I don't know. I never yearn to watch it.

i especially like the s/t , it's a fairly transparent attempt to capture the sounds that janet & madonna had recently been exploring but it does that fairly well

― ufo, Thursday, 15 October 2026 20:39 (one week ago)

i voted for the first three though i decided to strategically vote and go with Infinite Disco as my Disco-era album of choice. But if we're talking studio releases it's hard to argue too hard against this placement.

Kylie

Kiss Me Once
Golden
Tension
Tension II

had to give this my #1 in the end, it's just such a fun listen. fever was the one that made me notice her after basically forgetting she existed since middle school, body language kept my attention, this made me a huge fan.

― Bob Karol G (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Thursday, 15 October 2026 21:16 (one week ago)

this is so close to being an all-time classic, i wish she'd had the chance to try something like this again. the world in which she gets to thread the needle like janet did and get to make big swings like this while still having hits would have been great

― ufo, Thursday, 15 October 2026 21:19 (one week ago)

her biggest swing since then was maybe Golden? that was unfortunately not the best fit for her, but i think this was a remarkably good fit. we're long past the stage where she'd try this kind of thing again but even now occasionally she'll drop a track which is really incredibly forward thinking. just not a whole album.

― omar little, Thursday, 15 October 2026 21:23 (one week ago)

it's hard to really complain though, she's just about the best there is within her specific wheelhouse.

― omar little, Thursday, 15 October 2026 21:24 (one week ago)

i mean a big swing in terms of ambition and at least slightly left-field sounds in the way of impossible princess, the velvet rope etc., not just a minor stylistic diversion like golden. but she seems understandably pretty happy with her career and has continued to produce excellent pop over the years so i can't really blame her

i hadn't heard Tension before this poll and was really impressed, it's a lot more than just Padam Padam

― Bob Karol G (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Thursday, 15 October 2026 21:32 (one week ago)

& I would say also a big swing

― Bob Karol G (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Thursday, 15 October 2026 21:32 (one week ago)

it was better than i remembered, it's pretty solid the whole way through, but i still prefer disco, i didn't have it this high

― ufo, Thursday, 15 October 2026 21:34 (one week ago)

i know what you mean about Golden, though i think it's enough of a swing to count.

Tension was my #2, another year it might be my #1. Really incredibly impressive throughout, and i think it has her best single...

― omar little, Thursday, 15 October 2026 21:37 (one week ago)

Golden is a swing and a miss imo

Nice. Thanks ufo. Impressed that that Kylie Christmas (Fully Wrapped) cover is a legit retail artefact. :)

I feel like I got back on the wagon somewhat circa Disco and Tension* -- it's probably obvious from my tracks ballot -- but I wasn't really sure how they might have rated, as longplayers, amongst hardcore scholars.

* possibly mostly a technology thing -- the barrier to casual listening being pretty much zero for pretty much everything by then.

there is also a snow queen edition of kylie christmas and a deluxe edition

The top ten here was pretty clear cut

Eight number ones for Fever is about what I was expecting. It's not just my favourite Kylie album, it's one of my favourite albums of the 21st century at this point. I wouldn't change a second of it. It was such a victory lap after Light Years did so well.

I'm pleased Disco has its supporters. I remember being disappointed it missed our end of year poll that year. I still revisit that one a lot.

Aphrodite was my number two. It felt like an apology record after X which got a lot of criticism at the time. As much as I love X, I can see why some people don't rate it. You can tell she overthought it a bit and it doesn't flow quite as well as some of her best albums. With Aphrodite, you know that Kylie and Stuart Price knew they had to get it right and I think they did. There isn't a weak song on there and despite it being very early 2010s in sound, I think it has held up remarkably well. It's a shame they didn't quite nail it with the singles choices. Better In Time was a weird pick for the third single when they had a whole bunch of better choices.

Tension at three is a big surprise. I revisited it last week and enjoyed it a lot. Padam is great and was a big moment for her, but there's better songs on there.

Delighted to see X in the top five. I think it's the album that really made me as a proper fan. I bought it around the same time I got albums like Britney's Blackout, Tangled Up by Girls Aloud and Overpowered (obviously soured on that one now) and it just felt like their was so many exciting things going on in pop music. So many of my favourite Kylie songs are on that one even though other releases of hers work better as full albums.

Body Language is the biggest grower in her back catalogue. I think I only liked the singles when I first heard it. Now I feel like I just wasn't ready for it. The whole album has aged like a dream and I love that she made such a leftfield album after the huge success of Fever. Decisions like that are why she'll always deserve more credit. She doesn't always do the predictable thing.

― kitchen person, Friday, 16 October 2026 01:09 (one week ago)

I agree with the above.

Much of my fondness for X (above and beyond its strict quality) is premised on it being a big album amongst a lot of my friends, I heard it at house parties a lot.

Fever was an enormous album for me not merely as a redemption of Kylie-as-pop-artist after I was frustrated by Light Years, but as a redemption of (post-French) disco-pop generally. I remember feeling so tired of the chart-friendly end of that sound by 2001 (Daft Punk's second album notwithstanding) that, before the album was released, I would have laughed at the proposition that a song like "Love At First Sight" would turn out to be one of my favourite songs of all time.

― Tim F, Friday, 16 October 2026 01:33 (one week ago)

I didn’t put any albums on my ballot because despite my (patchy) fandom, I’ve not really been an album girly w Kylie? Mainly singles for me, especially later period. But I really should go back & dig in.

― werewolves of laudanum (VegemiteGrrl), Friday, 16 October 2026 02:56 (one week ago)

Just thinking that she had a UK number one single less than a year ago, and I'd be surprised if it got a single vote. Has anyone even heard it?

― Bob Karol G (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Friday, 16 October 2026 10:43 (one week ago)

It’s ok but I don’t really have much desire to re-listen to it. Christmas #1s are also kind of a gimmick.

― Michael F Gill, Friday, 16 October 2026 11:23 (one week ago)

her highest uk singles chart placement since "slow"! it's inane and inoffensive, it's no "all i want for christmas is you" but there are far worse attempts at festive pop out there

the christmas album and it's various reissues are kinda worth a listen or at least a skim just because there's some odd decisions, like a fairly faithful cover of "christmas wrapping" with iggy pop inexplicably yelling in the background, a duet with james corden of all people covering "only you" (does that even have any connection to christmas?) and a cover of "everybody's free (to feel good)" (which definitely doesn't have anything to do with christmas) that turns it into a very short disco-power-ballad?

― ufo, Friday, 16 October 2026 12:05 (one week ago)

The Flying Pickets’ cover of ‘Only You’ was the UK Christmas number one in 1983. So guess it has some slight Christmas connection.

beat me to it!

― Bob Karol G (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Friday, 16 October 2026 12:30 (one week ago)

I really liked the Christmas single and felt a bit emotional when she got the number one. It was everywhere when we were back in the UK last Christmas. I didn't consider voting for it or anything, but I thought it was definitely one of the strongest Christmas singles I'd heard in a long time. The latest version of the Christmas album was much improved as she added some songs that were actually good like Hot In December and the James Cordon duet was removed which made the whole thing more enjoyable.

― kitchen person, Friday, 16 October 2026 14:23 (one week ago)

In a world of multiple bonus track editions for different territories and retailers, and new versions of an album to rort the fans released weeks apart, I kind of love the idea of a Christmas album that just gets updated every few years. Tenth anniversary update of the Snow Queen edition next month, c’mon!

I was surprised to find myself giving points to "It's No Secret". I'd almost forgotten it existed but once reminded it lingered in my head for weeks and I couldn't *not* acknowledge it. Glad I was apparently not alone.

Ah (XP) #53 was the pretty much the last thing to fall off the end of my ballot, and I was berated for it by a fan I showed my ballot to lol.

oh yeah, wow, to be honest, I never even really considered voting for this, even though it’s really good. I always considered it a Nick Cave song even though she’s certainly seized upon it as part of her journey.

So odd to think of the Dolphin mix of "Where Is the Feeling" as a single, given it's basically Kylie whispering (in her peak faux-British accent era) over a techno track with some random backing vocals thrown in from time to time. I wonder she considered it (the single version) as a response to Madonna's "Bedtime Story"?

― Tim F, Monday, 26 October 2026 22:55 (two days ago)

I'm very surprised to see three songs from the debut here. I guess I need to re-listen to that album. Also surprised to see the relatively low placement for Your Disco Needs You.

Just Made Of Glass from my list today. Such an incredible B-Side and peak Xenomania.

Happy to see Promises, Burning Up and Aphrodite make it. They were all on my long list.

My ballot was 90% old stuff

― werewolves of laudanum (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 27 October 2026 02:22 (yesterday)

I also contributed points to "Crystallize" from this batch. And probably should given something to, at least, "Where Is the Feeling?"

Maybe it's an Aus thing (or a Melb thing) but I felt almost obliged to respect "Roses" on some level at the time. It's like a kerrazy King and Queen of Moomba pairing lol. But the chorus is kinda stilted and I can't say I liked it overly as a song.

― Nag! Nag! Nag!, Tuesday, 27 October 2026 07:18 (yesterday)

Wow -- "2 Hearts" that low.

― stopping by billy woods on a snowy evening (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Tuesday, 27 October 2026 09:24 (yesterday)

the vote counts for Braxe and Lissvik tell a specific and intersting story imo

My ballot was 90% old stuff

what’s the delineation for “old”?

(in post context looks like Yr Disco Needs, which is a perfect cutoff if so — 13 years after her debut, 26 years before this poll)

― uploading this content requires perseveration (sic), Tuesday, 27 October 2026 11:21 (yesterday)

I never heard that Braxe remix and don’t really get the appeal, it sounds too much of Braxe and very little Kylie. That said, the original isn’t one of her most appealing to me either.

I always thought of Spinning Around/Light Years as the cutoff point between “old” and “new” but that’s based on how I felt at the time tbh.

― And the former was the Brew Crew, while the latter was the Rays; (gyac), Tuesday, 27 October 2026 12:09 (yesterday)

It's No Secret - forgot all about this, really regret not voting for it now, it's lovely
Aphrodite / Turn It Into Love / Made of Glass - all high on my longlist, on another day would have been on there
Promises / Crystallize / 2 Hearts / Look My Way - these are fine, not quite a-tier for me
Where Is The Feeling? (BIR Dolphin Mix) - Fuck this is incredible, how did i miss it?!
Too Far - Really like this, great vocal performance, ultimately too much other great stuff on Impossible Princess to give it any points.
Your Disco Needs You - Never really cared for this one, it leans into the cheesy camp aspect too much for me
Where the Wild Roses Grow - this was the first thing I culled from my longlist, still like it but would have felt weird to actually vote for it.
Please Stay - this is fine, I don't really like the sound of Light Years but the Hatiras Dreamy Dub Mix is fantastic.
Burning Up - TOO LOW, my favourite track from Fever
Falling - perfectly fine but has never really stood out to me

― Bob Karol G (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Tuesday, 27 October 2026 12:42 (yesterday)

I'm actually surprised to see 2 Hearts make it at all. I like it, but I was always under the impression people found it a disappointing lead single for X. Expectations were so high for it as her big return.

Happy to see Please Stay, Turn It Into Love, and Made of Glass place.

― !Alicia!, Tuesday, 27 October 2026 13:36 (yesterday)

i did not do my homework for this but i'm really enjoying the rollout. god she's just the best. "crystallize" is one i hadn't heard that's really doing it for me.

― old helen (map^2), Tuesday, 27 October 2026 15:37 (yesterday)

I was always under the impression people found it a disappointing lead single for X.

I know I was. It felt like she was going for a Goldfrapp vibe, even down to the esthetic in the video. But the song isn't that good.

― LeRooLeRoo, Tuesday, 27 October 2026 17:24 (yesterday)

Kylie probably has the longest timespan between songs i put in my own inner circle HOF for a favorite artist (Look My Way in 1988, a handful of others in 2023)

― omar little, Tuesday, 27 October 2026 17:36 (yesterday)

Many xpost to sic by “old” I mean at least half my ballot was stuff from her first 10 years 87-97

― werewolves of laudanum (VegemiteGrrl), Tuesday, 27 October 2026 18:11 (yesterday)

I remember there was such a negative reaction to 2 Hearts when it came out, especially on Popjustice where she's treated as pop royalty. It's a pretty good single, but when you hear what else was on the album it was a bizarre choice for the lead after her time away. It should have been The One.

― kitchen person, Tuesday, 27 October 2026 18:49 (yesterday)

Yeah, agreed. I can't believe The One got fifth-single status. It deserved better.

I'm So High is one i had kinda slept on but this poll woke me up, great track. obv Light Years also a great one, i think it's a little curious it was buried at the end of the album. I guess it feels like one that would have served as a great opener and maybe a brief reprise could have served as the closer but what do i know?

Yay!! I think about the rap in the bridge a lot
Feels very Technotronic “pump up the jam”

one of the better plausibly deniable uses of what is only arguably "funk" in this context, right up there with FM by Steely Dan.

i'm kinda shocked OANLT wound up this low, but she's got so many bangers

― omar little, Tuesday, 27 October 2026 23:18 (yesterday)

yeah "on a night like this" is one of her very best and i was surprised it was this low, i love the balearic-trance sound

― ufo, Tuesday, 27 October 2026 23:19 (yesterday)

Yes the "Did It Again" video clip is fantastic - Kylie sprinted so that Taylor could hobble.

Adore all of the Fever tracks that made it today/yesterday - kind of amazing that they all sit in the back half of that album, a real sign of just how strong that album is (in the second half I think only "Dancefloor" is relatively weaker, and then only relatively so).

Due to haste I forgot to vote for "GBI" but I love it - perfect in every way. Here's where I gratuitously note that Towa Tei's album from this year is really fantastic.

And yeah the rap in "Shocked" (and Kylie's determined mogging during that stretch of the accompanying video clip) is iconic.

― Tim F, Tuesday, 27 October 2026 23:45 (yesterday)

"Hand on Your Heart" appears to be the first acknowledgement of the existence of Enjoy Yourself in any category!?

I voted for a bunch of these. Pretty sure "Shocked" and "Step Back" fell victim to my semi-conscious "all else being equal favour whatever is likely in most need in support" tendencies. ie. "Things Can Only Get Better" got the nod instead for 1990-ness lol.
