I will get sued, but I really wanna call my band The Ladyfest Planning Committee. Please think of band names off the top of your head that sound like a good idea to you. Don't worry though. You don't actually have to start a band.

For heavy metal: "Rock Saxophone and his Amazing Harbingers of Disobedience"
For hardcore: "Mars LaVolta"

erm... classical... "Mozprog"?

Dick Hertz and the Burning Sensations

There's already been a band called the Burning Sensations.

When we were starting our current band, a friend from the UK tried to convince us to call it 'Exit'. He said "think of all the free publicity, mate. I mean, "exit", that's everywhere innit? People see it in every building, driving on the freeway..."

We did not call our band 'Exit', so it's still available for the taking.

Thanks...that's what you get when you get a group of teenagers in a "band" trying to come up with a band name, right after Physics class...

We actually named our band "The Contortions"....yeah...

Nonsensical phrases usually pop into my head when I'm half awake in the morning taking a shower. I sometimes think they'd make good band names, at least until I'm more awake, when I forget them. Today I thought of "Open-Toed Salmon" and "Chunky Breakfast". For some reason these phrases often sound like hippy jam-band names.

o. nate, Wednesday, 23 July 2008 17:40 (seventeen years ago)

I see...the good thing is that the Contortions is defunct now...haha...we formed to play one song...

I always went for bad puns, like Crustacean Wagon, or Fission Chips. Sadly, both of those sound like bad Ska bands.

I was in a band called The Flamin' Rutebagas. Yes, the misspelling was on purpose - Def Leppard and the like were still rather omnipresent. We sucked, and didn't even live up to the name - though our first record was going to be "Turnip The Volume", which still makes me smile.
