" No doubt that i'd love to sniff on them panties/i'd eat you alive/if i could approach you or even get close to the scent i left behind/i'd be fine"
could they be the worst, most mysogynistic , HORRID lyrics ever? (or do we wait and see whats worse on the album?)
Alternatively could someone just make sure Fred Durst never makes another record again.

I wonder what he said to the L.A. crowd? "The Angels were a one-year wonder! The Dodgers offense sucks! Gary Payton's points per game avg will go down this year!"
And the new album is apparently called "Panty Sniffer"...I thought that was a joke, but maybe not?

Now this almost sounds like it could be the first line of a hella good off-kilter style Ol' Dirty flow, although it lacks that sheer ridiculousness that would push it towards something less retarded, however, when you follow this line up with...
"i'd eat you alive/if i could approach you or even get close to the scent i left behind/i'd be fine"
I mean COME ON. First of all, if you're gonna try to take yourself so seriously as this, DON'T START WITH A LINE ABOUT SNIFFING PANTIES. Secondly, he's completely shifting from a "I'm badass" mode to a "oh I'm such a sad widduw boy" mode in ONE RHYME. Like, if you can't maintain a solid POV through a whole song, you can at least try to maintain a similar emotional perspective all the way through ONE RHYME.
Naming an album Panty Sniffer, don't worry, your step-sister might let you look at her boobies when you turn 13 you more-adolescent-than-actual-adolescents pathetic cockgoblin.
And I swear I'm gonna personally urinate all over the first person to use the word "hatorade" on this thread.

I think people's problems with durst's 'craziness' is that it isn't actually crazy, it's just obnoxious - alot closer to pledge week than odb, iggy stooge, jerry lee

Wes Borland was replaced by Mike Smith of, ahem, Snot. I haven't heard any new songs but the guy looks really young and kinda cute. Big floppy hair. Visually he's a neat addition.

― nnnh oh oh nnnh nnnh oh (James Blount), Monday, 11 August 2003 18:32 (twenty-two years ago)
Well, kinda; it's mostly that he's TRYING to convey some sort of deep feelings and such with a line about SNIFFING PANTIES, whereas ODB rhymes about wanting to sniff panties cuz he wants to sniff panties.
You don't like crazy? If you ain't gonna be schizo about sex, what are you gonna be schizo about?
No, I love crazy. I AM crazy. It's not my problem that Freddy bwoy is crazy-cuz-of-something-sex-related; it's that he either can't or won't maintain a solid perspective on said insanity all the way through A COUPLET much less an entire song.

that's from a Warrant song in case you forgot, Alex.
Actually, I should have said he's mixing up sex and inner peace.
but James Taylor wasn't funny, had lame beats, couldn't rap for shit and didn't make me at all sympathetic. Keep in mind I'm dealing with Durst from the perspective of somebody who's heard album tracks like "The One," "No Sex," etc. Not somebody who saw the hat and covered my ears.
Dude, Durst be flippin wine and water back in forth and throwing a little Hawaiian Punch in there too. Or maybe he's just turning whine into Hot Dog Flavored Water. Either way it's tasty as hell.

it's a serious song about my desire for particular women folk. it is a bit aggressive, but very heart felt in my own sick way. it is unlike any song on the rest of the cd, but so is every song on the cd. none of them have the same feel. kinda like Queen. sometimes i feel like limp bizkit is like Queen in the sense that we have such a broad song writing formula. in no way do i feel as if we are anywhere in the ballpark as good as they are.

Alex, the man has a tattoo of Elvis and Kurt Cobain TOGETHER on his chest. He claims that they think they're building an empire without us, but we've got the torch to burn the motherfucker down! town! he's the leader of a massively successful rap-rock group but wants to start a Duran Duran-like (but not Howard Jones-like) sideproject called Pacifica. He wrote a violent song about Britney Spears not admitting they were dating, and later was so hurt by his fans not wanting him to date Spears he said that next time he'd fall in love with a tree.

Part of the appeal of Durst is that sometimes he acts like a businessman, sometimes like a spoiled kid, sometimes like a sensitive wittle boy, sometimes like a frat guy, sometimes like a Wu-Banger. He's rife with contradictions and I find that endlessly entertaining. And just as people who hate him will either treat him like an idiot or like an evil corporate mastermind depending on their whims, I can't help but do that myself sometimes when defending him. However, I DON'T think he's secretly a 2 Live Crew member PRETENDING to be sensitive, cuz frankly he'd do a better job if he was really that calculating (and I think the "quasi-homosexuals" line is way more offensive than anything Durst has done on record, though his behavior at Woodstock 3 was definitely more reckless). He's a smart man who isn't afraid to follow his muse or fuck around, admit his personal weaknesses, be a little reckless, or act on a whim. This leads to lots of contradictions, which is part of why I like him.

Durst's "madness", misogyny, obnoxiousness is placed over beats which are basically just muzak and hence it's just revelling and basking in a fairly questionable position, showing off, performing, whatever you want to call it.
Bear in mind my first paragraph is a personal opinion on the Stooges, in no way do I believe it's a be all and end all concrete fact that yeah Iggy is punk rock you bitch etc etc etc disclaimer.
