(xpost: When they use "biologically", I think they are saying "people respond to rhythm and sexual images", a thesis statement that I don't really have a problem with. As far as the INHUMANELY large ass comment is concerned, I took that as a reference to the ridiculous overstuffing they did in their video combined with a comment on the video directors who film women's asses through a fish-eye lens in their work.)

Still, it's kind of condescending to always, in every instance, point out or force connections between rap and blackness. Some people seem to insist that rapping unavoidably expresses blackness -- that, like it or not, your rapping is somehow about your being black. Wouldn't it be stifling to know that your music and the discourse surrounding it is going to be evaluated with your race in mind no matter what?
Granted, it makes sense that attacks of anti-rap stuff mention race because the anti-rap stuff itself -- even if it doesn't clobber you over the head with it -- often has strong racial undertones. Still, the "anti-rap = racist" line is kind of exhausting. I don't object to its truthfulness so much as I do the implications of its constant usage.

1. I'm printing these out as solid proof to all those that did not believe me before-- those dicks who got better grades then me in high school were NOT necessarily smarter! I said it before, you just do the busy work with diligence and you can get into Princeton, but that doesn't mean you're not still a fucking idiot. Now me, I may be lazy, but I would never turn out this piece of shit.
2. I think the reason this is so unfunny is because it's not really taking on a sacred cow. Satire is best when it's making fun of something supposedly holy. Swift took on the English, these guys are taking on Ja Rule.
3. There's a lot of room to work with here. I mean he could call a lot of mainstream rappers on the blatant sexism prevelent in most videos (Side note: Anybody hear about that member from the East Side Boyez, where he said in an interview in some new Hip Hop/pornography cross over magazine (Yep) that he had sex with a girl with a broken leg and made her walk home?), but in stead he just spits out nonsensical gibberish, like claiming Sean Paul is white (I can list at least 10 things wrong with that one) or something about J. Lo's ass.
4. The worst part is, for a satire, there's really no humor. Maybe it got a laugh when he showed it in his dorm to 4 of his friends, but the overwhleming aura of egotisitical prickhood totally trumps anything that would make it funny.

---------
I actually went to high school with one of these guys, and I find it kind of funny that they aren't taking this thing NEARLY as seriously as some of you are. The only reason it's online is because they submitted the project via the 'net, yet they've somehow pulled in over 25,000 hits in just a few weeks after only sending the link to a few people (myself included). You might not think it's funny, but somebody out there sure does. Of course you're entitled to your opinion, but you should at least acknowledge that just because you personally don't find a work of satire or parody amusing doesn't make it illegitimate.
This isn't senior thesis material, granted, but it's just a small project for an entry-level English course made by two sophomore engineers making an attempt at a humorous work because it was assigned to them. They don't claim to be funny or brilliant, and whatever impression of that nature that you get from the site is simply part of the joke. The store, the arrogant picture, it's all part of the joke. You seem to be more into this project than they ever were. It's a total spoof, lighten up.

I have no evidence either way, but I've long suspected that a huge percentage (maybe even a majority) of music fans of all stripes don't even have a rudimentary understanding of what happens in a recording studio and just assume music is recorded "live."
