You guys always seem to know more than me about everything. So i thought i'd ask just how big your record collections are.

Q4. Sadly i have 13 Iron Maiden albums. But dont listen to them (honest)

Somewhere on Rockcritics.com there's an interview w/ Chuck Eddy where he says that he keeps something like 300 CDs in his place. He's heard a million albums but doesn't feel the need to keep them all. I don't know whether that's still true (if Chuck reads this perhaps he can clear it up) but that struck me as an appealing idea. It's the difference between a river and a reservoir.

1) About 330 CD albums, maybe 30 CD singles, and about 50 freebie CDs from magazines.

2) LPs I haven't counted but I would estimate at about 30 or 40, plus a similar number of 7"s and 10"s.

4) About 13 or 14 for Dylan, but that's because he's released so many. If you add up all the Wu-affiliated albums I have it's probably a similar number.

When I was working at Ole M*ss, I pitched the idea of a Zappa radio show to the campus station mgt. and wrote a nice letter to the Barfko-Swill address at the same time. A few weeks later a massive box arrived from Ryko with all the FZs on Ryko and Barking Pumpkin. (This was late 94 or early 95.) It was like the best Christmas morning ever.

The reason I don't know: they are scattered around. There were times I could count'em all because they were all in the same place. Now they are in different places - I even have a box somewhere in the uh bike storage room. I rrrrrreally hate this as I'm very anal about (especially) my records but I have learned to ignore this (read: Thom's influence).
