It's almost as common in the blues as in hip-hop, so maybe blues shouldn't count either. From Robert Johnson, "Crossroad Blues" ("Save poor Bob if you please") to Junior Kimbrough, "All Night Long" ("I hear you call my name / Junior, I love you"), to a zillion "____ is gonna love you like a natch'ral man"s.
