no no no, blue jeans has got to be the lead singer. eye-obscuring bangs dude is clearly the attitude-filled guitarist and captain of cool, and he clearly gets the most chicks. the two khaki guys are the rhythm section. mr. blue jeans, the most ordinary-looking of the bunch, is the genius who put it all together. he doesn't have to look cool, because he is cool. his name, i am hoping, is dave mustaine jr.

because drummers are such a rare commodity that bands in need of one will jump at the first one the meet, regardless of interests or background.

The dude with his arms crossed is such a fucking badass. Kid's probably knee-deep in 17-year-old poontang by now.

The one with the glasses and blond hair is no doubt the introspective, Salinger-reading songwriter and lead guitarist.

The red-haired one is the lead singer and plays rhythm guitar. He has a great stage presence, engages the audience in witty banter, and has a huge skateboard collection. His father took this picture.

The kid on the far right is the bassist. He desperately wants to be as smart or cool as his bandmates, but he's a complete tool. They hate him and will kick him out of the band once they all leave for college at NYU and he's stuck in central Ohio.

I thought they had a band name; doesn't the kid on the far left have "underoath" written on his shirt?
I like it.

underoath are a shitty and very popular christian hardcore band from florida. they've been around for a while, it's not these young whippersnappers.

Ooooh, we should make guesses at his Kabbala name.

I hear Esther is already taken...

Edward Bax (EdBax), Friday, 19 August 2005 00:27 (twenty years ago)

After much quiet contemplation and through the grace of god I've had an epiphany.

Pink belt is the drummer and the singer, owns all the tshirts, writes all the songs and bosses the other kids around. Sometimes he hits them. He is cool. Sensitive blue jeans is the guitarist. Unfortunate Red plays bass. The other guy is on keys (he took piano lessons).

Because they can't fit into any of Pink Belt's pants, the band was trying to dye Red and the other guy's pants pink - they only own kakis and each brought an old pair along to dye - it didn't work, so they just wore the pants they had on; and now their hands are pink.

The name of the band is The Craven Likenesses.

jhoshea (scoopsnoodle), Friday, 19 August 2005 03:57 (twenty years ago)

That's a damn fine theory, except about Pink Belt being the drummer. No one would choose to be a drummer from watching all the bands that get airplay today.
