Disastrous. I might be able to pass it off as a chart re-entry though. I would've liked to include 'Velouria' on the 1990 mix as well, and something from 'Trompe La Monde' on this one. Maybe there should be a separate Pixiemix - they were more disco than met the eye you know.

Not all of them but I think I at least like them more once they're put into the context of these sorts of mixes. Or I just find them funny. The 'worst' is yet to come in this respect, incidentally.

some of it sounds a bit off (combination of poor quality mp3/source, too much timestretching and then EQ+compression on top of that at times) but other parts sound very good (used wavs and 320kbps tracks where I could, mixing mostly good, some nice fusions here and there). speeding up Rachel Wallace over Foul Play and 'Edge One/Compounded' in particular definitely brings back the rush...

You can actually spend an entire working day immersed in the sounds of 1993, even the ones you didn't like then and still wouldn't now (there's bound to be a few) - but all mixed up as was not the style of the time. I am surprised by how many good things there are in 94. Nice to see PJ and Duncan getting their dues.

I have a question regarding the Jailbird remixes. On my CD single what I got from the charity shop it says Dust Brothers mix, but you say Chemical Brothers mix. Is it the Chemical Brothers when they were still called the Dust Brothers or is it the Dust Brothers? It sounds, to my ignorant ears, Dust Brothersy.

'We Are The Pigs' was the first Suede single i really got - huge Eno-inspired production and BA's OTT nonsense made it kinda fun. really just a token inclusion tho. big regret is not trying to work the Leftfield dub of 'Renegade Soundwave' into the Massive Attack/Sabres Of Paradise/Oasis part of that mix. Big Beat year zero etc.
