List band members in order of toughness

by which I mean, who would win in a fight...somebody on the Ringo thread reckoned Ringo could've kicked Lennon's ass...OK, let's run with that one:

Ringo > John > George > Paul

anybody got any quibbles with that, or should we move on to, say, the Rolling Stones?

henry s, Monday, 14 January 2008 19:01 (eighteen years ago)

are you kiddning? john is tougher than ringo

Zeno, Monday, 14 January 2008 19:02 (eighteen years ago)

YOKO IS TOUGHER THAN ALL OF THEM!

Alex in SF, Monday, 14 January 2008 19:03 (eighteen years ago)

I'd guess after Ringo they were all equally hard assed. I get the impression that John would be the lippy one starting a fight, while the others pile in for the scrap. Best to ask Heather Mills McCartney about Paul.

Billy Dods, Monday, 14 January 2008 19:04 (eighteen years ago)

Here's the comment henry s was working off of:

It's interesting that he's considered the most harmless/most "lovable" Beatle, considering he grew up in the worst neighborhoods. He probably could have easily taken Lennon's ass in a fight.

i would have maybe agreed until recently when i saw an BBC crown jewels live performance of an early smiths performance and goddamn moz is HUGE compared to the rest of them and marr is a midget! he was soooo widdle!

yeah, but srsly moz looked like he was a foot taller than marr at least

M@tt He1ges0n, Monday, 14 January 2008 21:07 (eighteen years ago)

maybe that's why Marr was all into weights and exercise in the Electronic days...Moz has had boxer pics on his LP covers...maybe the guy can bring it...

Billy towers over Dusty so he wins.

Skynrd and the Allmans both had like 30 guys each in the band, you could have a whoe tournament there.

I heard one of the original Skynyrd dudes telling a story about having to fight their way out of a bar after they hired Ed King on while he was still officially employed by another band (might've still been with Strawberry Alarm Clock?). I go the impression Van Zant was not afraid to throw knobs if need be.

I see the cool thing on this thread is to say the female member of the band is the toughest. Didn't know the distaff rock crew could throw down like this.

"30 southern rockers...6 sets of instruments...one stage...who ends up rockin'?"

Dunno, but I bet there would be some serious facial furniture involved.

Daltrey was kicked out of the band for a few weeks in 1965 for punching Moon and throwing his amphetamines down the toilet. Deciding he didn't want to go back to his old job at the sheet-metal factory, he begged to be let back in, promising to go along with whatever they wanted to do, and that he'd never hit any of the band again (and he didn't, apart from when he knocked Townshend unconscious in 1973 during tour rehearsals for Quadrophenia).
