slumberlands back catalogue is massive, but what is good from it? i only have the stereolab and stuff and the excellent Powderburns 12" from 1990 (kind of like if stereolab were degenerate motherfuckers that lived under the sidewalk)

gareth, Monday, 12 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Velocity Girl's six song ep. I think Henry's Dress were on Slumberland as well, back before they bacame the Aislers Set.

jel --, Monday, 12 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

and Henry's Dress were a million times more rocking than the Aislers Set!

jel --, Monday, 12 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Also Lorelei. Oh, Lorelei. And Why Popstars Can't Dance = top- shelf among the vast number of striving-to-be-classic indiepop comps to come from that era.

nabisco, Monday, 12 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Rocketship! Maybe I'll post more on why it's great when I'm not working, but at the very least I wanted to be the first one to mention it.

Miranda, Monday, 12 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

If this was "POO - Slumberland", it would be Black Tambourine's _Complete Recordings_. That voice! Those drums! THAT NOISE!! "For Ex-Lovers Only," "Black Car," and "Throw Aggi off the Bridge" are all incredible. Free mp3s on the Slumberland site here: http://www.dropbeat. com/slrland/slr37.html

Ernest, Monday, 12 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

It's pretty much all good (speaking as someone who owns pretty much the entire catalogue). Favourites are the first Lilys 7", VG's "My Forgotten Favourite", the Black Tambourine stuff, the very, very excellent Ropers album, and of course the Aislers Set. The only Slumberland stuff that isn't completely excellent are the Honeybunch and Glo Worm singles, which while good aren't quite as good as everything else.

That Powderburns 12" is quite fantastic. I spent years looking for it, too, and was tres chuffed when I finally tracked it down.

electric sound of jim, Monday, 12 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah rocketship, dustin reske is some sort of unknown genius, 'a certain smile, a certain sadness' is like early stereolab mixed with 'ecstasy and wine'-era mbv only more perfect and then there are all of the fantastic singles(not all on slumberland) as well including the greatest pop song ever 'your new boyfriend' which is on the 'why popstars can't dance' cd. the velocity girl cd on slumberland is their peak, the hood records are also excellent. and of course the magnificent aislers set.

keith, Monday, 12 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I wanna go on some more about the Ropers. The "All The Time" album is a genuine lost pop classic. After being out of print for ages and ages you can get the CD again, and I recommend you do. The earlier EP is also brilliant. The main Roper recently resurfaced in The Still who are also very good, if not quite as special as the Ropers.

electric sound of jim, Monday, 12 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Jane Pow is one of the great long-lost power pop albums of the ages. Kinda poorly recorded, but more than overcome by its earnestness. Totally recommended

Chris Barrus, Monday, 12 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

Who can tell me about the Steamkings? "Darkest Star" on the Popstars comp is absolutely killer single.

nabisco, Tuesday, 13 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

They were meant to have a proper release on Slumberland but it never happened. I gather they had a few LPs but I don't know anything beyond that..

electric sound of jim, Tuesday, 13 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm late on this but everyone should get the Rocketship album. Supposedly a comp cd of the singels may be released someday. Not sure if there will ever be a new rocketship album though. Also, the steamkings, they had a couple albums, one recently issued on Not Lame, kind of powerpop with helium boy vocals. Not bad but not essential.

g, Thursday, 15 August 2002 00:00 (twenty-three years ago)

five months pass...
Does anyone have any idea what's going on with Slumberland at the moment? There's a handful of records they're meant to have put out ages ago (KG[fr], Acetate Zero, McTells, etc etc) that have never appeared, and they're only doing the vinyl for the new Aislers. Is Mike phasing the label out? Any ideas?

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Wednesday, 15 January 2003 03:35 (twenty-two years ago)

I really really hope that the stuff mentioned is going to come out, but it kind of seems like it's not going to happen. Nothing has been released by the label for more than a year (I think).

More people need to hear KG. Lo-fi Jesus and Mary Chain style pop with great song titles (example: "emilie, would you let me taste your mouth if i record your band?").

Sorry, bad at the descriptions, but my 3 KG singles are near the top of the list of my most prized possessions. And the fact that one of them is warped means I need a digital copy.

Miranda, Wednesday, 15 January 2003 04:27 (twenty-two years ago)

KG is great - which of your singles is warped?

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Wednesday, 15 January 2003 05:21 (twenty-two years ago)

The one with Stuka on it. This is 987, right? (just moved, so all my stuff is in boxes and I can't find it). And do you know if KG has done anything else in the same vein after those 7". I have the electronic type album, which is ok, but I'd really like more guitar based stuff.

Miranda, Wednesday, 15 January 2003 12:13 (twenty-two years ago)

Mike's best-of year lists are always good, too...

Tim (Tim), Wednesday, 15 January 2003 12:18 (twenty-two years ago)

one year passes...
Just looked at their page seems they are coming back in business with new releases etc.

svend (svend), Thursday, 11 November 2004 05:39 (twenty-one years ago)

that's good news, i'm curious as to what they might be putting out. a lot of the new pop bands put out by formerly excellent labels aren't too good at all (the tedious Kiddo on Microindie, the boring Liberty Ship on Matinee....)

the surface noise (slight return) (electricsound), Thursday, 11 November 2004 05:47 (twenty-one years ago)

I had heard several Aislers Set tracks before, even seen 'em live, but only recently was I smacked upside the head when I heard MP3s for "Long Division" and "Hit the Snow" which I now play on repeat. Are the albums pretty solid? Should I buy the lot?

Ernest P. (ernestp), Thursday, 11 November 2004 07:00 (twenty-one years ago)

one year passes...
2 more years on and they are back with two new 7 inch records.

svend (svend), Tuesday, 26 September 2006 03:06 (nineteen years ago)

o rly

electric sound of jim [and why not] (electricsound), Tuesday, 26 September 2006 03:29 (nineteen years ago)

neat. so is the 'indie label' back Back BACK?

electric sound of jim [and why not] (electricsound), Tuesday, 26 September 2006 03:30 (nineteen years ago)

I hope so. I really hope so. I just put my order in because I didn't see the 7 inch in stores yet today in San Francisco and I actually went through the vinyl bins. Hope they stay around a while.

svend (svend), Tuesday, 26 September 2006 03:41 (nineteen years ago)

wow, half hour response to my email query on shipping! nice

electric sound of jim [and why not] (electricsound), Tuesday, 26 September 2006 04:19 (nineteen years ago)

the new rocketship album is really disappointing.

Godfrzej Ljang (godfrzej), Tuesday, 26 September 2006 05:59 (nineteen years ago)

that comes as no surprise to me

electric sound of jim [and why not] (electricsound), Tuesday, 26 September 2006 06:02 (nineteen years ago)

is there a new rocketship album? on slumberland?

joan vich (joan vich), Tuesday, 26 September 2006 07:56 (nineteen years ago)

oooh, i'm so happy about slumberland's return! really, they're right up there with k and sarah in my little heart! i can't wait to hear what new releases they'll have for me! yay!

! ! !

blood bitch (blood bitch), Tuesday, 26 September 2006 11:29 (nineteen years ago)

the new rocketship album is not on slumberland (maybe clairecords? you definitely get it through tonevendor.com). i've not heard it but also would not be surprised if it was just okay. his ambient 12" (garden of delights) was fine, but now "a certain smile...".

i also hope the how 7" and the crabapples 7" lead to more records from slumberland, but i'm not holding my breath. the crabapples don't seem to active and both these records are from recordings that were put to tape a while ago. i've heard rumors of more how recordings that haven't seen the light of day. hopefully they make it out eventually because what's been released so far is stellar.

viva slumberland!

i share yr enthusiasm. i love slumberland. but since the heyday of henry's dress, rocketship, black tambourine, and lorelei, did they put out anything of significance other than that incredible aislers set/the how split 7"?

Godfrzej Ljang (godfrzej), Tuesday, 26 September 2006 21:07 (nineteen years ago)

I actually quite like the new Rocketship.

nabisco (nabisco), Tuesday, 26 September 2006 21:22 (nineteen years ago)

Or anyway I really really like about 2/3 of the tracks on it -- it's fascinating how he can push his stuff forward stylistically in really grand and ambitious ways while still sounding loose and bedroomy about it (sometimes to the point of annoyance). "The Foxes' Teeth," "Our New Track," "The Scene Selection," "The Passersby," "You're Too Young" -- really attached to a lot of these. But the Blow will probably get more attention than this.

nabisco (nabisco), Tuesday, 26 September 2006 21:47 (nineteen years ago)

two years pass...

i like this crystal stilts album

omar little, Monday, 10 November 2008 07:15 (seventeen years ago)

not bad at all huh

cause comotion lp good too

sexy kids & bricolage singles out now!

thereminimum chips (electricsound), Monday, 10 November 2008 08:04 (seventeen years ago)

When I first got a job where I had internet in about 98/99 or so I mail-ordered pretty much everything Slumberland had in print at the time. <3 this label.

Crystal Stilts is good stuff, not sure what all the Interpol comparisons are about though. Haven't heard Cause Co-motion yet.

I KNOW WHAT YOU'RE UP TO (Colonel Poo), Monday, 10 November 2008 09:41 (seventeen years ago)

Anyone out there have the Sophia Green 7"? They might have put out two - I can't remember.

Sugar hiccup, Makes a pig soar and swoon (Pillbox), Monday, 10 November 2008 09:46 (seventeen years ago)

p.s. Not the Jane Pow song, but the band of the same name.

Sugar hiccup, Makes a pig soar and swoon (Pillbox), Monday, 10 November 2008 09:48 (seventeen years ago)

my friend was in sophia green, they later became magpie. i didn't know they actually had any releases, i had a cassette of their demos which were nice. she went on to be in Dart on Che.

keythkeyth, Tuesday, 11 November 2008 03:35 (seventeen years ago)

Keyth, is your friend Lauren? If so, I had a cassette with the same demos. I used to trade mix tapes with her as part of a Prodigy usergroup (!) waaaay back in the day. As a kid growing up in the middle of heartland knowhere, she turned me on to a galaxy of stuff I probably never would have found out about otherwise, so I owe her some major props. Man, this small world keeps getting smaller by the day on these here internets.

Sugar hiccup, Makes a pig soar and swoon (Pillbox), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 03:41 (seventeen years ago)

l4uren? i met her once, bought records off her which she delivered to me while in aus visiting pals

thereminimum chips (electricsound), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 03:41 (seventeen years ago)

btw, never knew about Dart. I'll have to look into that. Dunno how I missed that b/c I was an avid Che collector back in the mid-90s or so.

Sugar hiccup, Makes a pig soar and swoon (Pillbox), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 03:44 (seventeen years ago)

doggie and bugger both really good singles, album pretty good but a little weaker

thereminimum chips (electricsound), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 03:46 (seventeen years ago)

also they did some good covers on the bsides

thereminimum chips (electricsound), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 03:46 (seventeen years ago)

(field mice, pete astor and massive attack)

thereminimum chips (electricsound), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 03:47 (seventeen years ago)

xposts: I'll look into that, tho some of that Che stuff is uber-hard to find. I'll give slsk the once over. Back then, Che was one of those labels (like Slumberland, Cherry Red, Sarah & others I can't think of) that I used to just buy from uncritically from the Parasol mail-order catalogs. Now that I think about it, I really kind of miss those days.

Sugar hiccup, Makes a pig soar and swoon (Pillbox), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 03:52 (seventeen years ago)

I'll give slsk the once over.

thereminimum chips (electricsound), Tuesday, 11 November 2008 03:55 (seventeen years ago)

nine months pass...

Releasing too much stuff all at once now. Funny how they were so quiet a few years ago.

svend, Thursday, 27 August 2009 03:13 (sixteen years ago)

too much? no way

sic alps 45 is pretty good for them, though i'm not a huge fan

interested to see what the brown recluse sings EP is like, i was pretty lukewarm on their (non-slumberland) mini album

they should revive dropbeat as well

king boy pamito (electricsound), Thursday, 27 August 2009 03:23 (sixteen years ago)

I usually buy the actual 45's, so it is kind of a lot of stuff all at once. Maybe I'll grab the mp3s from emusic if they are up there.. The last few 45's seemed to have dropped in price in the shop from 5.99 to 3.99 so that is pretty good.

svend, Thursday, 27 August 2009 03:28 (sixteen years ago)

xpost from a year ago, yeah it was lauren, she was obsessed with summershine so it seems appropriate that she went to australia. was the dart field mice over 'and before the first kiss'? i remember them rehearsing that. i gave her an interview with bob w so she could figure out who to credit the song to since back then the field mice didn't put any credits on their records. does anyone here know shaun brennan? he traded me the field mice interview and demos long ago along with loads of chills things that ended up on the secret box years later. lauren married the guy who ran Che.

keythkeythkeyth, Thursday, 27 August 2009 03:32 (sixteen years ago)

yes it was that FM song

king boy pamito (electricsound), Thursday, 27 August 2009 03:34 (sixteen years ago)

I want them to re-issue the Lilys stuff, Swirlies, and I'd love to buy a ton of their CD single comps like the 6 song Velocity Girl one. (I like Simpatico just fine but I'd much rather prefer her singing style on those old tracks- sounds more natural. Also the shoegazey thing is a bit more of my style.)

Evan, Thursday, 27 August 2009 03:41 (sixteen years ago)

the swirlies 45 is comp'd on 'what to do about them' which is still in print afaik. lilys stuff being OOP is pretty unfortunate. i was lucky that my copy of 'presence' isn't one of the dodgy ones. however, my VG EP is, i need to replace that one.

i would love a proper comp of some of their early vinyl releases, even though i have all the records. i was so obsessed with those records BITD

king boy pamito (electricsound), Thursday, 27 August 2009 03:45 (sixteen years ago)

6 song Velocity Girl is in every junk bin in the Bay Area and seems to be 95 cents on Amazon, probably not going to reissue it. Lilys was reissued on Spin Art except the b-side from the single I think.

svend, Thursday, 27 August 2009 03:47 (sixteen years ago)

the VG ep is still available so no need to reissue it

all the early lilys albums are long gone as is spinart so i'm confused about your latter point

feb 14th and threw a day are on the summershine cd single of 'tone bender', threw a day is the hidden track on 'presence'

king boy pamito (electricsound), Thursday, 27 August 2009 03:50 (sixteen years ago)

I guess my point was that I see a lot of Lilys used in the stores, seems like a lot of people just rip to their hard drive and sell it back.

svend, Thursday, 27 August 2009 03:53 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah the 6 song is still on sale on the Slumberland website. And Spin Art is done. I still found myself copies of "Eccsame the Photon Band" and "A Brief History Of Amazing Letdowns"!!

Evan, Thursday, 27 August 2009 03:54 (sixteen years ago)

only the whorl, powderburns and lorelei 45s (and the 'heaven' ep) haven't turned up on cd. and the big-jesus-trash-can cassette, which i've neither seen nor heard

xpost

oh ok, fair enough. as long as people can get 'em then i'm happy

king boy pamito (electricsound), Thursday, 27 August 2009 03:54 (sixteen years ago)

Yeah there are some early Swirlies songs that don't show up on "What To Do About Them," which is why it would be nice.

Also any Swirlies fans have the bonus tracks that are only included on the Japanese version of "Cats Of The Wild Vol. 2"?

Evan, Thursday, 27 August 2009 03:57 (sixteen years ago)

oh there are pre-slumberland swirlies tracks about? ooh

king boy pamito (electricsound), Thursday, 27 August 2009 03:59 (sixteen years ago)

Don't know if its pre-slumberland but check out some early demos here:

svend, Thursday, 27 August 2009 04:10 (sixteen years ago)

It looks neat though.

Evan, Thursday, 27 August 2009 04:14 (sixteen years ago)

i'm strongly guessing not, i've never seen or heard of that record before & it doesn't appear in any of their discogs. might be worth emailing the seller to find out where it was pressed as none of the perth CW's records were released outside of aus (other than on import obv)

Colonel Poo, Thursday, 28 January 2010 08:18 (fifteen years ago)

The Slumberland website seems to make it sound like simply unreleased material; I think they'd make a point about it being "new" if it was. And if there was any time for them to have a reunion, they would have been the "special guests" at the 20th anniversary concert in brooklyn in november! I mean, how do you have a 20th anniversary show with unannounced special guests, and then reveal it to be your most popular current artist? Pains of Being Pure at Heart are fine, but thats such a tease! I thought It would have been Black Tambourine or Velocity Girl...

Is that right? I won't put it off anymore.

Come to think of it though, Stove was pretty post-rocky for a Slumberland release. Tricked the label heads into signing them based on their 7" then went in mostly a different direction save a few tracks off that record.

I really love Withered Hand too; don't really hear a TFC thing going on there in particular.

Tim, Tuesday, 15 April 2014 12:32 (eleven years ago)

To be fair, we were pretty tired and were ready to make the long journey back to Hoboken.

Evan, Tuesday, 15 April 2014 13:15 (eleven years ago)

yeah i guess i overstated the TFC thing there a bit

denial plan (electricsound), Wednesday, 16 April 2014 01:09 (eleven years ago)

there is a bit of TFC in the Tony Molina record, but the early Weezer influence is about 100x more prominent, right?

alpine static, Wednesday, 16 April 2014 05:25 (eleven years ago)

i might have to listen to some early weezer

denial plan (electricsound), Wednesday, 16 April 2014 05:35 (eleven years ago)

dude

alpine static, Wednesday, 16 April 2014 07:19 (eleven years ago)

the Molina album is basically a distilled version of Weezer's debut "blue" album: the crunchy guitars, the hooks, the solos, in and out in 40- to 90-second chunks.

this is not to say it's better than the blue album, but if you like "dissed and dismissed" and you have not heard the blue album, you should probably go and do that, yeah.

Change My Ways is indeed very TFC, though.

alpine static, Wednesday, 16 April 2014 07:26 (eleven years ago)

not heard this Tony Molina album yet but his stuff as Ovens is excellent and described perfectly by the first line of the above post

Great year for this label, I think: Tony Molina, Gold-Bears, Terry Malts EP and Allo Darlin' are all terrific.

Damn, sale over already!

Wandering Boy Poet, Monday, 3 November 2014 13:45 (eleven years ago)

Get anything?

I got:

The Bats - Dont You Rise 7inch

Bright Coloured Lights - Open Your Eyes 7inch

Belreve - Belreve 7inch

14 Iced Bears - Inside 7inch

various artists - The Saturday People/The Clientele split 7inch

The Earthmen - Cool Chick 59 7inch

Beatnik Filmstars - Pink Noize 7inch

various artists - Just A Taste CD

Weekend - Sports 2xLP

Sleepyhead - Punk Rock City USA LP

Evan, Monday, 3 November 2014 15:16 (eleven years ago)

I got the new Allo Darlin' and Gold-Bears (both top 20 of 2014 for me) + Terry Malts' "Killing Time" LP and The Softies' self-titled EP (for $3.33 on CD)

alpine static, Monday, 3 November 2014 16:11 (eleven years ago)

was very tempted by Weekend stuff but...

alpine static, Monday, 3 November 2014 16:12 (eleven years ago)

Yeah, they opened for Medicine and sounded pretty good! It was a good price and "Jinx" wasn't as intriguing so I was happy to pick up "Sports".

Otherwise I was very excited by the sale since it's great they still so many old titles in stock for so cheap regardless of the sale. Awhile ago I got Ropers - All The Time direct from them for instance.

I wasn't too familiar with the newer titles but thought Veronica Falls sounded pretty good. I needed more time to research those so I held off.

However I should have picked up that Softies EP too...

Evan, Monday, 3 November 2014 16:29 (eleven years ago)

last year's Veronica Falls album was AMAZING. top 5 of the year for me. but i love love love indie-pop...

i probably would've spent more time looking into some older stuff but worried i was gonna lose the sale prices.

wish i'd made an order with Relapse Records during their half-off sale on Halloween...oh well.

alpine static, Monday, 3 November 2014 16:40 (eleven years ago)

Yeah I love both Veronica Falls albums. I already have those, but I did pick up the Proper Ornaments LP, side project from the male VF singer/guitarist. It didn't do much for me when it first came out but it's been growing on me a lot the last couple of weeks. He also has a great other side project, Ultimate Painting, with a new album not on Slumberland, check it out). Also got:

Aislers Set - Terrible Things Happen (not sure why I don't have this already; I loved the other two albums back then)
Girls Names - both LPs (really like the first one, LOVE the second one -- it's like an indie pop Seventeen Seconds)
Crystal Stilts - In Love With Oblivion
Frankie Rose - both LPs
Parasites - Something to Hold Onto single

Kinda regret not getting either of the Weekend LPs.

early rejecter, Tuesday, 4 November 2014 03:04 (eleven years ago)

the proper ornaments is probably my favourite Slumberland thing they've done for a while. the tony molina is awesome but it's a reissue and also should have twice as many songs on it

the literature album is nice enough but it's like they have shaved off all their interesting edges to "slumberlandize" their sound which is disappointing.

did not know that about the ultimate painting album, interesting! trouble in mind (who put it out) is an excellent label

mit iodine (electricsound), Tuesday, 4 November 2014 03:09 (eleven years ago)

Evan, Tuesday, 4 November 2014 14:31 (eleven years ago)

Teenage is one of my favorite songs of the past few years, and the rest isn't far behind. "Driving late at night, I let you listen to the music you like. Then I'll drop you home." <3<3

I listened to that Ultimate Painting album three or four times and found it pleasant, but I wasn't wowed. Certainly not in the same league as the past couple VF and Mazes albums. I will revisit, though.

http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/arts/music/pressplay.html?ref=music

NY Times listening thing for another Slumberland band:

It’s hard to get a bead on Evans the Death after just one song. The young British rock group veers from folksy strumming to harmony-driven pop to screaming punk rock. They are, however, Londoners through and through.

Whatever that last sentence means

curmudgeon, Friday, 6 March 2015 20:30 (ten years ago)

It means "Either way, it ultimately just sounds like Coldplay."

Evan, Friday, 6 March 2015 20:52 (ten years ago)

It doesn't though. It skews a lot earlier, to Britpop, Madchester, hints of No Depression even. First song is called "Intrinsic Grey," second one "Terrified," and so on, and the whole thing is unmistakably poverty stricken in a way I haven't encountered in a while. And because Slumberland often releases albums in nifty pairs, the new one by Young Guv, which is Ben Cook from Fucked Up doing an Exploding Hearts type thing, is good too.

I have nothing against Twerps but they do make me wish I was listening to The Stevens. Since we're already off topic can I ask if anyone's heard "A History of Hygiene"? Might be premature to call it a classic but that's really the only word, like "Daddy's Highway" crossed with "Bee Thousand."

They co-hosted a funny little halloween outdoor showcase last night in SF:

Cheap Tissue (from LA) as CRIME... who absolutely killed it

and then!

The Umbrellas as My Bootleg Valentine. No Loveless songs, just pure jangle noise pop from the 80s. Amazingly recreated. There were about 50 people there, some real olds (older than me!) and then a ton of youth which was great to see.

The Umbrellas just released a new record and single (not-MBV related) so I grabbed a copy.

I went to the 35th anniversary Of Slumberland Records show in DC last night with Lorelei, Lightheaded, and Jeanines. Jeanines are Brooklyn twee pop, Lightheaded are New Jersey tweeting pop, and Lorelei are a longtime DC post punk trio briefly back from hiatus. Lorelei were my faves but Lightheaded had some good songs too.

They showed between bands a video compilation of various members of Slumberland bands from over the years wishing Mike Shulman of Slumberland congrats.

curmudgeon, Sunday, 2 February 2025 19:17 (ten months ago)

would like to see Lorelei. I might see the Jeanines in the summer, they are playing the Heavenly weekender, but on the Thursday which isn't covered by my weekend ticket

Colonel Poo, Monday, 3 February 2025 09:59 (ten months ago)

I was at the anniversary as well. Would highly recommend the Jeanines, CP, they were the highlight for me. Love that most recent album of theirs, pretty much every song sticks with me.

bulb after bulb, Monday, 3 February 2025 14:55 (ten months ago)

Jeanines drummer just talks so much, constantly between songs . He thinks he is funny but is so annoying. I think Lightheaded do the twee pop thing better than Jeanines.

Lorelei bassist is the Ceo of Amtrak by day and moved to Philadephia, and he and DC based guitarist Matt Dingee both have young kids, and Dingee also has a busy day job, so it's unlikely they'll tour or go overseas

curmudgeon, Monday, 3 February 2025 16:59 (ten months ago)

wow, had no idea (took Amtrak down for the weekend. was great (until my return train got stuck in Newark)).

agree on the Jeanines drummer, not nearly so funny as he thinks and breaks the set flow. but the songs get me past that.
