I guess? Twitter is more about what activity you're doing, not what media you're consuming. I mean you could always say you're reading this or listening to that but I don't think the devs ever though it necessitated original software in order to do so.
Also, esp. here, people listen to music so incessantly that it could only be wholly annoying to have some friend who alerted you every time he decided to listen to that new Kanye album or whatever. btw there's a twitter thread in ILE.

I am making an honest attempt to post actually, interesting shit. It started off as a resume-builder (Online social media "presence".... kinda pathetic when I only have 11 followers, and nobody else I know uses Twitter) and soon turned into a repository for thoughts I thought had significance but otherwise wouldn't post on Facebook. Not particularly thrilling, any of it, but I've found an actual appeal in it regardless.
Occasional PR shit is in there to solidify my internships with local firms. I'm not an active user, but need to make it look as if I am. In sense, I am an active user.

I dont follow any comedians, depends what you mean by marketing, i follow thing like the local public transport company, markets and local shops, and a lot of tech/dev related stuff, and for new mixes, though all that could count as marketing. I follow certain people who talk about the above things, which gives me more of a sense of context about which i might take a bit more of a look at. I think some of this works unconsciously/incrementally - i might see something new come out but not look at it, but it might crop up again from non-connected people and I check it out then instead of the first time

This falls under entertainment, but it's also indirectly useful or at least illuminating. I like getting friends' opinions offered in a space the size of which excludes blowhards. I don't follow musicians unless they tweet about non-music-related matters; otherwise I just don't care enough. I would probably follow Peggy Lee if she were still alive..
It's good to follow local bars to learn about drink specials or when open mic nights are (to avoid them).

I'd say 99% of the people I follow are musicians/labels in order to keep up with new releases and that kind of stuff. The rest is non-music news outlets for the most part.

-bars-people who tweet about:--beer--running--transit issues--science/tech stuff--local news and politics
Primarily an information source, but a lot of conversation back and forth too, especially with local people that I've met on there. It's really my ideal social network. So they'll probably change it and ruin it soon.

Yeah, I like the back-and-forths with people I've met irl but am unlikely to see very often, or with low-level celebrities who respond to my replies. It's often rewarding to follow brainy types like authors, philosophers, pop science personalities
You will learn pretty fast that the two types of tweeters are those who tweet about the outside world and those who tweet 100% about themselves
