I don't think I can get behind any ballot that doesn't have aerosmith on it. I've always liked the way he is always thoughtful and able to give posters a figurative smack in the head when needed and manage to have it come across not at all condescending or troll-ish. when i think about when i first looked at ilm i think of Our Dear Ned and crazy miccio and even crazier britishers like marcello and mark s., but i mostly think about how i would lurk and someone would say/post something dumb and jess and blount would - in my head - look at each other as if to say: "you want this one?" "nah, i'm washing a hat right now, you take it." and one or the other would just eviscerate in a brutal - and often REALLY funny - way and i would say to myself: um, do i really want to post here and hang out with these guys? they can be brutal! i can only imagine that a LOT of people never got up the nerve to post because of the kaustic krew around back then. but i just said fuggit i can always go away if people are too dickish or mean. and then, of course, i learned that a lot of the most brutal people on here were BIG FAT BABIES! so i never left. oh, but anyway, since a lot of people's views of ilm are probably formed by their earliest exposure to the board, i would have to say that ned, blount, jess, and miccio are kinda what i think about when i think about ilm.

I wanted to be a rock critic, and googled one of my favorite albums, Pisces Iscariot, and came up w the thread sund4r started. Signed myself up for an account and posted a rough draft of the review I wrote in my head. Did zero lurking. Then I started a thread called "Pixies in everyday situations" and nearly got clowned off the site.

I shouldn't have really used that as an example because I was pretty much 100% in the wrong and was rightfully called out on it. I've just noticed a general tendency of roxy (as of late really) to pop into threads just for a snarky one-liner or whatever. Not saying this is a bad thing, I mean thats pretty much the m.o. of lots of posters around here, just that "nice" wasn't my first description of her.

I think my favorite posters, in general, are the ones who get really enthused about stuff (which is why I'm kicking myself for not including skot on my list - dude is like the king of enthusiasm!).
