just after crossing the wisconsin state line maybe an hour in, 'surfin bird' came up on my boombox and i was totally yelling PAPA OOM MOW MOW etc and then i look to my left and this kid in the back of a passing minivan is making fun of me

Did Radiohead ever cover 'Surfin' Bird'? Seems in their wheelhouse.

I had to spend a few weeks last summer with an obnoxious young Family Guy fan who couldn't stop playing Surfin Bird, and I think that might be making me slide towards choosing Radiohead.

man that video of 'surfin bird' synced up to radiohead footage was beautiful, and strangely under-discussed

Never really heard them but the warning sign is people writing about it. People only write about things that are bad further exacerbating inherent anxiety.

When a record is good "yes mates" is all that can be said, or some convivial variant.

The Surfing Bird record is more efficient, it means someone nearby is preparing to fill you in. Once the blows start raining down the soundtrack changes to one of the Radiohead records. You have to keep your wits about you if you hear any of this music or something that sounds like it might be this music.

there's a local car commercial that is a parody of Surfin' Bird.

are there any car commercial parodies of radiohead? i'm not sure how it would tilt things but it seems like important background info

I was in a Morrisons in Portsmouth recently at 7am, wandering the aisles aimlessly, and “Karma Police” came on the store’s radio. I suddenly understood ILM.
