BUfo Fabric mix is great, I love how varied the percussion is (one thing I can't stand is mixes or DJ sets which are just straight 4/4, happens here in Cologne somewhat often). I've seen a few comments about tracks being mixed in and out quickly, but that's quite a UK thing, I take. Regardless, I think he makes it works very well - both on this mix and on the Rinse one (which is less "house & techno" than this one, but very good imo).

Yea I like myself some modern crunk songs like Stay Fly, but this mix is like proto-crunk or something, so cool.

Legowelt's first Memphis rap mix (from this past summer?) is really great, too. "Stay Fly" is from a few years ago, right? The stuff they made as Triple Six Mafia in the 90s was more like the music on the Legowelt mixes.

The Tale Of Us Renaissance mixes are both moody, melancholy and understated, with a really good mix of anthems and classics with sharp left-turns throughout. I had assumed because of their relative popularity with the Resident Advisor DJ Chart Population that it would be more of a Hot Creations vibe than a mid-00s Kompakt vibe, to use a lazy comparison, but it's been a real treat to find otherwise.

Yeah, I had written them off a bit, but that Boiler Room mix is really great and made me pay some attention. Does a great job showcasing the grandeur of Ten Walls - Gotham early on. I'll try to check out the Renaissance one.

Pedro's was a bit disappointing (preferred his other LP on arpiar this year, last track on that is magical). I think the romanians are in a different phase now as DJs, Rhadoo's fabric mix is pretty disappointing too. When theyre in this mode it can be very flat. Cezar was very flat earlier this year also

As for fav mixes of the year i've enjoyed the flow and variety and different elements in this one - its a little on the long side so i cut it into 3 parts for mp3 player

i think my favorite mixes of the year were the young marco on juno, workshop dudes on boiler room, beautiful swimmers on test pressing, dj sprinkles' when dancefloors..., and groovypanda's endless summer on ilx--woop WOOP! might be forgetting a couple, i switched PCs recently and have since realized my memory has totally atrophied through reliance on organizing shiz by date modified in my music folders.

Was looking through Fact's list of their best mixes of last year and the number one was by a guy I'd never heard of called Jon K. It's dead good, one of those that goes through a lot of different genres but still flows nicely

lol, BOILER ROOM VANCOUVER seems to have been very underattended judging from the video stream. a little sloppy and a lot of talking in the mix but i dig it

i like the other pender street mixes on the libra site, and some of the house of doors and hashman deejay stuff has been great too. but yeah so many mixes, i haven't listened to even close to all of them but i've had good luck with everything so far
