I don't think I can guess to within 5. Overlap of periods of severe alcoholism overlapping with periods of being in a touring rock band = bad combination for remembering these kinds of things with any degree of accuracy. I used to be able to remember them by their cities, even if their names and faces were gone, but now even that's hazy.

I don't see why anyone should be embarrassed by having 5 or fewer sexual partners, with n>0. Be embarrassed about the means, rather than the ends.

Not too many for a mid-twenty-something I guess =/. Though in August I will have a new, "real" job, I'll be living in an actual city, and I'll be within walking distance of several bars frequented by people I might actually have something in common with. I think when I was younger and had had fewer sex partner the number of them seemed more important, and I always remembered it. When I grew older and the number became bigger, it simply didn't matter that much anymore, so I stopped keepig track of it. Also, to me it seems pretty inevitable that memories of one-night stands I had years ago, and never saw the person again, gradually fade away, so it would be kinda hard to calculate the exact number at this point.

I mean, if you've had 1 or 2 sex partners, I guess it can be a big deal if the number goes up. If you're sexually loose and have had something like 30 partners, does the number really matter anymore?

Though of course that doesn't mean that all the sex partners themselves become insignificant. I can still remember perfectly fine all the partners I spent a longer time with and really cared about.

Probably half of my number consists of experiences that were noneducational and joyless, if not slightly humiliating for everyone involved. There are a choice few that I would never EVER have slept with if I knew then what I know now, and they remain real regrets. And then there are those choice few that were (and are) better than having any amount of casual sex.

I was mainly referring to myself there, and it was supposed to be a bit ironic. I certainly don't think there's anything odd or wrong with having had many sex partners, just like there's nothing wrong with having had 2 or 3. The way I see it, some people only want to have sex in a serious relationship, so they don't have a lot of partners, and that's perfectly fine. Whereas some people see it more as a physical pleasure that can be great fun even if there are no strong emotions involved (though of course it's often even better when there are), so they can have casual sex with lots of partners, and that's fine too. There's no reason why either group should think the other one has it better than them.

As for the "large member", I did see the typo once I'd made the post, but I was hoping no one would notice it. Oh well, I guess a "large member" is pretty hard not to notice.
