NYC PLAYOFF FAPS?

So in Greenpoint there's this weird-ass sports bar that's WAY CHEAP and has tons of TVs and like 3,000,000 Hasids for every game. Totally fun. It's called the Callbox, and it's on Meeker near the McDonald's. Some friends and I have been watching all of the games there these past two weeks -- anyone wanna come watch some playoff ball?

Jams Murphy (ystrickler), Monday, 3 October 2005 14:30 (twenty years ago)

I would, when I don't have NY Film Fest tix (2 more) and am not freaking out about my eviction threat.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Monday, 3 October 2005 14:32 (twenty years ago)

Ync, I'm down.

Oh, and just for you, I just heard a rumor Bobby V. might be coming back stateside...to the Dodgers.

scrimhaw1837 (son_of_scrimshaw), Tuesday, 4 October 2005 00:56 (twenty years ago)

Oooooooh!

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 4 October 2005 01:10 (twenty years ago)

I'm off Monday so Sunday would work. Friday too cept I'm going to Six Organs of Admittance around 10.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Tuesday, 4 October 2005 12:13 (twenty years ago)

going out of town this weekend.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 14:27 (twenty years ago)

Actually 6OOA doesn't go on til 11:30 on Friday, so I could be there formost of the Fri game. Sat nite I have the NY Film Fest at 9, but there could be 4 games Sat, yes?

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 14:38 (twenty years ago)

i'd love to come. i'm off thursday and friday, and working days saturday and sunday.

maura (maura), Wednesday, 5 October 2005 18:23 (twenty years ago)

So the Callbox is a cop bar? (Well, I guess the name hints.)

Rain threatens tomorrow, if there's the 4pm Fenway game then a NYY-LAA delay maybe we should arrive earlyish. Friday good, Jams?

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 6 October 2005 16:03 (twenty years ago)

I'm off tomorrow eve and this weekend. Callbox? Ist go?

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Thursday, 6 October 2005 16:18 (twenty years ago)

let's do it! friday night. it's at kingsland ave and meeker. (http://pages.prodigy.net/pizzabagel/MisspelledSigns_001.htm#HARDY)

take the l to graham and walk north on graham (down the hill) until you hit meeker (aka the road beneath the bqe). take a right and walk about five blocks until you see a mcdonalds. the callbox is right next to it. it's a bet of a trek but it's CHEAP BEER and FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE and TONS OF TVS.

Jams Murphy (ystrickler), Thursday, 6 October 2005 16:34 (twenty years ago)

OR you can take the g to nassau. get out of the train and walk on manhattan ave toward mccarren park. make a left when you hit meeker. then follow the above directions.

Jams Murphy (ystrickler), Thursday, 6 October 2005 16:35 (twenty years ago)

Before the end of the Sox-Sox game, or at 8 to give you crap all night for rooting for the Yankees?

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 6 October 2005 16:46 (twenty years ago)

i will be there about 6, i'm guessing. and i am not so much rooting for the yankees as remaining impartial. i did want to strangle scoscia last nite tho.

Jams Murphy (ystrickler), Thursday, 6 October 2005 16:47 (twenty years ago)

HI WHO IS IN TONIGHT?

Jams Murphy (ystrickler), Friday, 7 October 2005 13:40 (twenty years ago)

Me. If there are rain delays we can do "Mind Game" readings!

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 7 October 2005 13:43 (twenty years ago)

me! i'll get there around 7.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Friday, 7 October 2005 14:05 (twenty years ago)

holla!

Jams Murphy (ystrickler), Friday, 7 October 2005 14:07 (twenty years ago)

I WILL HARRASS YOU BOTH VIA TEXT MSGS so it'll be like I'm there!

Allyzay knows a little German (allyzay), Friday, 7 October 2005 14:12 (twenty years ago)

dude morbs you're gonna miss my friends watersports open for 6ooa!

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 7 October 2005 14:14 (twenty years ago)

...unless there's a rainout. I assume yer on yr way upstate and have no use for my +1 then? (ppl in love are dicey with the emails, I notice)

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 7 October 2005 14:20 (twenty years ago)

Holy shit! How did I not see this thread?

I am actually going to be in New York tonight with a few hours to kill. I will show up (and hopefully not get lost/drenched along the way) around 6-7 or so.

d4niel coh3n (dayan), Friday, 7 October 2005 14:21 (twenty years ago)

yeah, sorry about that. been really flakey lately, i apologize. but yeah, you should see watersports! they're great!

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 7 October 2005 14:22 (twenty years ago)

They're NOIZE then?

What, The Rapozer can't take the train down for a couple rainouts?

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 7 October 2005 14:24 (twenty years ago)

no, they're not noize.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 7 October 2005 14:34 (twenty years ago)

The Rapozer has a school-related obligation, in addition to shite loads of homework. I already blew off A GURL so I could get this stuff done. Clearly I am messed up in the head.

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 7 October 2005 14:35 (twenty years ago)

OK, if somehow the Sawx survive, get down here for the LCS or Series so we can watch you die a thousand figurative deaths.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 7 October 2005 14:38 (twenty years ago)

ha - somehow? IT IS PREORDAINED & SHIT.

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 7 October 2005 14:40 (twenty years ago)

preordained my ass, you guys are losing today.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 7 October 2005 14:54 (twenty years ago)

I have realized that if the Series involves any combo of NYY ATL LAA STL HOU, I likely won't give a shit.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 7 October 2005 15:10 (twenty years ago)

so if the padres get eliminated you don't care about the ws? seems kind of a longshot...

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 7 October 2005 15:13 (twenty years ago)

No, I would be interested in rooting for either Sox vs any of the NL teams above. I guess I could root for the Cards vs the Yanks but will not listen to any more Eckstein Family interviews.

Braves-Yanks I boycotted in '99.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 7 October 2005 15:33 (twenty years ago)

No chance for me yall -- I'll be in the office. Maybe a CS or WS edition?

scrimhaw1837 (son_of_scrimshaw), Friday, 7 October 2005 16:05 (twenty years ago)

sure thing, parish. where is teh maura?

Jams Murphy (ystrickler), Friday, 7 October 2005 16:15 (twenty years ago)

weather.com rain%:

BOS-CHA today: 20
NY-LAA tonight: 80

BOS-CHA tomorrow: 90
NY-LAA tomorrow: 90

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 7 October 2005 16:58 (twenty years ago)

I don't get this Friday-night homework thing.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Friday, 7 October 2005 17:12 (twenty years ago)

Neither do I. That's why it SUCKS.

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 7 October 2005 18:25 (twenty years ago)

i will be a little late

Jams Murphy (ystrickler), Friday, 7 October 2005 20:04 (twenty years ago)

isn't this getting rained out?

John (jdahlem), Friday, 7 October 2005 20:08 (twenty years ago)

i think they still serve pitchers when it rains!

Jams Murphy (ystrickler), Friday, 7 October 2005 20:12 (twenty years ago)

Daniel suffered nobly in yr place, Rapozer. Alas I was drunker than I thought and couldn't even get to 6OrgsofAdmittance on time.

If the Yanks are rained out today I plan to be at Coliseum Books for Prospectus folks.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Saturday, 8 October 2005 15:54 (twenty years ago)

Mine was a lonely struggle, but I had a fun time, and learned a valuable lesson about cold medicine and its interactions with alcohol.

I might be back in town in two weeks for a film shoot, and I'd be all for getting together again - is WS game 1 scheduled for 10/22?

d4niel coh3n (dayan), Saturday, 8 October 2005 16:50 (twenty years ago)

Cold medicine! tsk tsk. Sat 10/22, yeah.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Sunday, 9 October 2005 16:33 (twenty years ago)

Anyone want to meet up for ANA/NYY tonight?

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Sunday, 9 October 2005 18:53 (twenty years ago)

Well, the Waco Bros have cancelled at Southpaw tonight. Anyone willing for The Wrath of Eddings tonight at Callbox? (I'd likely arrive around the fourth.)

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 14 October 2005 13:14 (twenty years ago)

i don't think i can make it. i am still exhausted from my flu -- which i have mostly gotten over, but am still so drained.

Jams Murphy (ystrickler), Friday, 14 October 2005 13:45 (twenty years ago)

Well, the Waco Bros have cancelled at Southpaw tonight.

they did? that's strange. i guess i'll get the scoop monday.

games 5-7 (assuming there are any) of CHW-LAA, i'm there.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 14 October 2005 13:54 (twenty years ago)

OK, perhaps early next week then.

There was some family medical emergency w/ the Wacos, scrapped their East Coast dates.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 14 October 2005 14:00 (twenty years ago)

ah that kinda sucks. i wasn't gonna go, but my other job is for the guy that manages langford.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 14 October 2005 14:16 (twenty years ago)

Jon's always worth seeing just for the stage patter.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 14 October 2005 14:21 (twenty years ago)

So can we do this for Game One? d4niel coh3n, Jams? will hstencil be in Reinsdorf's box?

I need to drink a couple actual beers beforethe pitchers of Bud, however. 4 hours of that will kill ya.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 20 October 2005 15:59 (twenty years ago)

I am thinking about it. Filming this weekend got cancelled; I might stay up here and see Oneida and Big Bear on Saturday instead. I'm probably going to be in New York next weekend for the Mountain Goats show either way; if it goes to game 6 or 7 I could be game.

d4niel coh3n (dayan), Thursday, 20 October 2005 18:56 (twenty years ago)

i have a birthday party in the west village i need to be at at 10. could we meet somewhere in manhattan early for drinx beforehand? that might be the jam.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 20 October 2005 23:26 (twenty years ago)

That might be a bit roundabout for me, as I will be on the UWS during the day and need to be settled somewhere at 8:03 (first pitch).

I could do Sunday or Tuesday too, of course. Jams?

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 21 October 2005 12:43 (twenty years ago)

well i'm definitely watching the game. not sure where. somewhere in the city would be okay with me. who all would be in? tracer, maura?

Jams Murphy (ystrickler), Friday, 21 October 2005 12:48 (twenty years ago)

i can do it! i'm working until seven and have to be back at the office at nine on sunday, but i'd love to go.

maura (maura), Friday, 21 October 2005 14:18 (twenty years ago)

if you're on the uws, morbs, then just go south! no problem!

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 21 October 2005 15:06 (twenty years ago)

I meant the UES, actually.

Isn't there some big sports bar on lower Ave B or C? I was there on a weeknight, and it didn't seem too bad. Other alternatives?

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 21 October 2005 15:20 (twenty years ago)

les would be no problem, tho i can't think of anyplace with adequate television.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 21 October 2005 16:11 (twenty years ago)

The one I was thinking of is Croxley Ale House on Ave B nr 2nd St, but I have no idea what the Sat nite crush is like. Any others?

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 21 October 2005 17:31 (twenty years ago)

there's a place on a and 1st called jp wards that's normally pretty empty. two decent-sized tvs.

Jams Murphy (ystrickler), Friday, 21 October 2005 17:35 (twenty years ago)

that's still pretty early, i doubt it'll be that crowded. you guys make the call.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 21 October 2005 18:01 (twenty years ago)

JP Wardes OK w/ me...

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 21 October 2005 18:20 (twenty years ago)

ok i'm there, 8ish.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 21 October 2005 19:35 (twenty years ago)

7:50 in case Al Lopez throws out the first ball. (He'll take awhile)

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 21 October 2005 20:01 (twenty years ago)

awesome, I'm there! Game 1, bitches!!

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Friday, 21 October 2005 22:02 (twenty years ago)

this will be fun! joe is coming, and so is my co-worker kristen!

maura (maura), Saturday, 22 October 2005 18:14 (twenty years ago)

Morbius I have the awful feeling that somehow you were at the bar watching the game and I didn't realize it was you.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Sunday, 23 October 2005 06:45 (twenty years ago)

haha, yeah I was the redhead clown in the glasses. Who the heck were you? (ppl need to do the pseudonyms w/ the intros...my fault too, but "I'm Dr Morbius" does sound pretty dumb)

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Sunday, 23 October 2005 17:13 (twenty years ago)

Jesus, what a foul-up! I was unshaven, with an AFL-CIO hat on. That's just terrible. Well, how about planning for a Game 4 meet-up when we can introduce ourselves like ladies and gentlemen?

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Sunday, 23 October 2005 18:55 (twenty years ago)

If there IS a Game 4! *rimshot*

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Monday, 24 October 2005 12:10 (twenty years ago)

i can't make game four - too pure night at the mercury lounge.

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 24 October 2005 15:08 (twenty years ago)

btw Stenc, Bo Jackson was born 11/30/62:

http://www.baseball-reference.com/j/jacksbo01.shtml

DO NOT DOUBT ME

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Monday, 24 October 2005 15:11 (twenty years ago)

ok, how about Game 4? i liked jp smedley's or whatever, but the layout of the bar didn't facilitate the type of roundtable i feel is required.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Tuesday, 25 October 2005 22:04 (twenty years ago)

At least we didn't pick last night for FAPpage.

Shall we do Game 4 or hope for 5, and what roundtables are available?

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 26 October 2005 12:30 (twenty years ago)

i can't tonight -- going to see jarhead!

Jams Murphy (ystrickler), Wednesday, 26 October 2005 12:55 (twenty years ago)

Oh c'mon, like Sam Mendes isn't gonna fuck THAT up royally! Some priorities...

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 26 October 2005 14:39 (twenty years ago)

going to see rogers sisters/young people tonight at mercury lounge, suspiciously near j.p. warde's. if they have re-entry, and the game is close, i might just take off for a bit.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 26 October 2005 16:16 (twenty years ago)

Well, I'll be staying near home then, ie trying to stay awake. (and I do hope Gyllenhaal and Sarsgaard make history by also starring in the porn ripoff of Jarhead.)

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 26 October 2005 16:48 (twenty years ago)

Since some of us dropped the ball on Game 4 (hello, JARHEAD and TOO PURE NIGHT), we should do something flagrantly excessive in the offseason to compensate, like celebrate the BBWAA not electing anybody to the HOF (I don't even remember who's newly eligible). I want to hear all of Trace's Rosa Parks story.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 28 October 2005 13:04 (twenty years ago)

There needs to be a fucking celebration for the Yankee hiring of LARRY FUCKING BOWA that's for damn sure!

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 28 October 2005 13:07 (twenty years ago)

Shit!

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 28 October 2005 13:08 (twenty years ago)

four months pass...
New Yorkers: WBC-watching, somewhere, on Saturday at 10pm for the semifinal, or the final Monday night? (Saturday at 3 is perhaps too old-man for this crowd...) Don't make me email you individually. The Callbox? that place we watched WS Game 1?

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 16 March 2006 16:10 (twenty years ago)

i could maybe do monday nite, i'll be back by then.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 16 March 2006 17:41 (twenty years ago)

Either or both! I'm not positive about my availability for Saturday, but I can definitely make Monday.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Thursday, 16 March 2006 18:17 (twenty years ago)

Let's plan on Monday, location to be determined (tho Greenpoint or the East Village work for me). Anyone else for tomorrow night? Japan-Korea is the 10pm game.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 17 March 2006 16:36 (twenty years ago)

Anyone for a post-ILBB 2006 fantasy draft FAP? Perhaps Sunday, March 26 at 9:00 p.m.? I would like to check out this "Callbox."

felicity (felicity), Friday, 17 March 2006 23:43 (twenty years ago)

Mr Jams Murphy, conspicuous by his silence -- what, is he in Austin too?

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Sunday, 19 March 2006 19:40 (twenty years ago)

i'll totally come out tomorrow night. just give me a time!

maura (maura), Sunday, 19 March 2006 22:26 (twenty years ago)

It starts at 9, so let's get there at like 8 so we're not just glued to the TV the whole time. Does the Callbox work again?

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 20 March 2006 00:41 (twenty years ago)

we'll see how tired/broke i am when i get back tomorrow.

hstencil en tejas (near alf avenue) (hstencil), Monday, 20 March 2006 00:43 (twenty years ago)

If you do it at the Callbox tomorrow at 8, I will come.

felicity (felicity), Monday, 20 March 2006 02:31 (twenty years ago)

I can do that, but may not arrive til 9:30ish (Don Siegel dbl feature and dinner).

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Monday, 20 March 2006 14:09 (twenty years ago)

where is the callbox?

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 20 March 2006 19:29 (twenty years ago)

Where Lombardy meets the BQE (just off Meeker)...

http://maps.citysearch.com/location/7370337?

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Monday, 20 March 2006 20:07 (twenty years ago)

People are coming, riiiiiiight? Tracer?

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Monday, 20 March 2006 21:13 (twenty years ago)

Wait is that where we went before? It's not exactly central, is it? Regardless, I'm there, wherever it is. It's probably not easy to find another place that we both a) know is going to be showing this game and b) isn't horrible, so I'm fine with the Callbox if everybody else is. I'll be there at 8!

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 20 March 2006 21:33 (twenty years ago)

And it will be great to see felicity redwell!

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 20 March 2006 21:33 (twenty years ago)

it's near my house so i'm down.

felicity (felicity), Wednesday, 22 March 2006 00:48 (twenty years ago)

isn't that a post-Prospectus Montclair NJ-confab FAP? I'm not sure I can slog it to Greenpoint on a Sunday night.

I'm up for anything but a Yankee game at a bar full of Yankee fans...

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Tuesday, 3 October 2006 12:33 (nineteen years ago)

also, I feel like loitering in one of those Big TV Stores on 14th Street to see at least a half-hour of A's-Twins the next 2 days.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Tuesday, 3 October 2006 14:54 (nineteen years ago)

so do we want to try for a game this weekend?

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Tuesday, 3 October 2006 16:00 (nineteen years ago)

the bar i'm thinking of is stout, probably better on a weeknight than a weekend. i'm probably too busy to do anything on the weekend, too.

hstencil (hstencil), Tuesday, 3 October 2006 16:11 (nineteen years ago)

maybe Thurs night Mets game 2 then?

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Tuesday, 3 October 2006 17:59 (nineteen years ago)

hstencil (hstencil), Tuesday, 3 October 2006 21:20 (nineteen years ago)

ok so thursday is my friend's dj night at daddy's... so maybe meet up somewhere like callbox (or similar) in north brooklyn, then go there for post-game psyche shenanigans?

hstencil (hstencil), Tuesday, 3 October 2006 22:07 (nineteen years ago)

Well, postgame if it ain't 12:30...

If there's a place similar to Callbox, spill it!

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 4 October 2006 12:07 (nineteen years ago)

so is the Callbox tonight a go? maura, stenc & anyone else?

I have some Mets talismans from my personal reliquary with me.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 5 October 2006 15:17 (nineteen years ago)

make sure to bring the Bill Buckner pubic braid.

chakra khan chakra khan (sanskrit), Thursday, 5 October 2006 15:20 (nineteen years ago)

ewwwwwwwww

I haven't located the Seaver, McGraw, Strawberry autographs, alas.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 5 October 2006 15:28 (nineteen years ago)

I can't make it tonight (I'm partying hardly) but if the Callbox is where it's happening in the future, I should be able to swing by after work.

mattbot (mattbot), Thursday, 5 October 2006 15:52 (nineteen years ago)

i don't think i can do it tonight, i'm really behind on a ton of work stuff plus not really feeling well. i will watch, tho, obv.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 5 October 2006 17:13 (nineteen years ago)

Well, I'm worried about the hellish postmidnight F/G trains, and can't drink for 3-1/2 hours without a crowd, so I'll watch at home too.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 5 October 2006 17:58 (nineteen years ago)

Would you fancy city folk schedule something on a WEEKEND so some out-of-town loser types could skeeve their way into the city and get drunk while making fun of Joe Buck?

David R. (popshots75`), Thursday, 5 October 2006 18:34 (nineteen years ago)

Others are busy but I'm hangin' loose.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 5 October 2006 18:39 (nineteen years ago)

Of course, right after I type that, I remember that, hey, I'm supposed to be moving this weekend / next weekend.

David R. (popshots75`), Thursday, 5 October 2006 18:40 (nineteen years ago)

well, World Series then!

if it's easier for any Brooklyn people some night, The Gate in Park Slope will have the Mets games on (Pat the Giant Bartender is a big fan).

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 5 October 2006 18:44 (nineteen years ago)

Pat almost banned me in '03. I was one of two Yanks fans in there as they were losing game 7 against Boston (he's a big Sox fan). I talked a lot of shit but eventually left in disgust midgame for the Yankee friendly crowd at Loki. The next week I asked Pat what he thought of Boone's HR and he growled deeply at me.

chakra khan chakra khan (sanskrit), Thursday, 5 October 2006 20:56 (nineteen years ago)

hahaha! Pat was also all for the Mets getting Jorge Julio.

If Loki is Yankee-friendly, I'm glad I've never been in the place.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 6 October 2006 12:41 (nineteen years ago)

woohoo, get outta work at 3pm to watch the A's today! where can I drinkydinky?

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 6 October 2006 14:09 (nineteen years ago)

At Shea tnite, but who has watching plans for Sunday or Monday (if nec) nights?

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 13 October 2006 15:16 (nineteen years ago)

isn't it best-of-four? wouldn't both sunday and monday be "nec?"

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 13 October 2006 15:24 (nineteen years ago)

Monday wd be NY-STL Game 5, jorel.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 13 October 2006 15:28 (nineteen years ago)

they're playing saturday? i would think it'd be a travel day to st. louis?

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 13 October 2006 15:40 (nineteen years ago)

ah no travel day i see. mo' money, mo' money.

hstencil (hstencil), Friday, 13 October 2006 15:40 (nineteen years ago)

Yes, travel day washed out, hence Willie uses Mota not Heilman last night, as he's not expecting anymore 7-inn starts (and Glavine pitches next on 3 days' rest).

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 13 October 2006 15:46 (nineteen years ago)

sunday is good for me, monday maybe not

mookieproof (mookieproof), Friday, 13 October 2006 15:56 (nineteen years ago)

I could likely do Sunday eve NL game.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 13 October 2006 16:16 (nineteen years ago)

oh well

mookieproof (mookieproof), Monday, 16 October 2006 22:53 (nineteen years ago)

sorry dude, ilx was down and like nobody knows you. or at least your contact info. but maybe we'll do something wednesday? i have to miss tomorrow's game, damn rain.

hstencil (hstencil), Monday, 16 October 2006 23:23 (nineteen years ago)

I think these next couple games may be too stressful for me to be seen in public.

can Rapozer come in for a weekend Series game? mattbot, where you?

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Tuesday, 17 October 2006 15:40 (nineteen years ago)

can't go tonight.

hstencil (hstencil), Tuesday, 17 October 2006 15:46 (nineteen years ago)

oh, no worries. stupid poxy fule-ing

mookieproof (mookieproof), Tuesday, 17 October 2006 17:53 (nineteen years ago)

Pozer is moving (still)! Sorry, Morbro.

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 17 October 2006 18:50 (nineteen years ago)

Tomorrow's probably the only day that would work for me. I'm out of town this weekend.

mattbot (mattbot), Tuesday, 17 October 2006 20:33 (nineteen years ago)

i think i'll be at a bar without a tv tomorrow for a going-away party thing. ;_;

hstencil (hstencil), Tuesday, 17 October 2006 20:49 (nineteen years ago)

Do people not know there IS A PLAYOFF goin on?

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 18 October 2006 12:20 (nineteen years ago)

I'm not crazy about doin it in W'burg on a weeknight when the G ain't running to my house. Where is convenient for you, mattbot? We could try a Series game during next Tue-Thur, maybe downtown.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 18 October 2006 13:22 (nineteen years ago)

people know it, some people just happen to be yanquis fans. ;_;

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 18 October 2006 13:50 (nineteen years ago)

so they didn't follow Lasorda TO DA TV?

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 18 October 2006 14:09 (nineteen years ago)

well who knows, the game is tonight.

hstencil (hstencil), Wednesday, 18 October 2006 14:15 (nineteen years ago)

Williamsburg is closest for after work (I'd take the G back too, God willing), but The Gate is actually not far from home either. I'm flexible. Next week is looking good so far.

mattbot (mattbot), Wednesday, 18 October 2006 18:31 (nineteen years ago)

ah, you and I are good for the Gate, but I wonder who else.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 18 October 2006 19:04 (nineteen years ago)

so are we all watching privately tonight, then trying Game 1 or 2 WS, esp if the outcome is Amazin'?

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 19 October 2006 16:15 (nineteen years ago)

i hope bowery ballroom has a tv.

i can definitely do game 2 ws, perhaps at alligator again?

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 19 October 2006 16:26 (nineteen years ago)

SOUNDS GOOD

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 19 October 2006 16:29 (nineteen years ago)

there's no late nfl game this week, either.

hstencil (hstencil), Thursday, 19 October 2006 16:31 (nineteen years ago)

This appears to be the place for WS Sunday then:

http://newyork.citysearch.com/profile/40851428/brooklyn_ny/alligator_lounge.html

hstencil will be the Bruce Sutter lookalike. I'll be rooting for the Tigers unless Kenny Ballfour is pitching.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 20 October 2006 12:04 (nineteen years ago)

...It IS Kenny on Sunday. I am so not gonna give a shit about that game.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 20 October 2006 17:47 (nineteen years ago)

how long are you going to "be like this"?

Steve Shasta (Steve Shasta), Friday, 20 October 2006 17:47 (nineteen years ago)

that's what I've been wantin to ask you!

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 20 October 2006 18:38 (nineteen years ago)

:-|

Steve Shasta (Steve Shasta), Friday, 20 October 2006 19:06 (nineteen years ago)

Whatever you mean, maybe the answer is when that Mellencamp earworm leaves my head?

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 20 October 2006 19:19 (nineteen years ago)

GENTLEMEN: WHERE CAN I BUY AN OFFICIAL LEAGUE BALL IN NEW YORK CITY? THAT PLACE UNDER MSG IS SOLD OUT AND WHAT AM I SUPPOUSED TO HAVE TOMMY LASORDA SIGN IF NOT AN OFFICIAL LEAGUE BALL?

If you fuck with Jimmy Mod, you call down the thunder (The Famous Jimmy Mod), Tuesday, 24 October 2006 22:18 (nineteen years ago)

have him sign a copy of XY.

If there's a Game 6 (Undressing Kenny), it will be on Saturday. longest night of the year (clocks back one hour). Just sayin'.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 25 October 2006 18:39 (nineteen years ago)

I'm going to be in New York this weekend, and I'd be all for Saturday. I've got a funny feeling they'll still be playing in St. Louis at that point, regardless of outcome.

(Can we cajole R4posa into coming?)

govern yourself accordingly (dayan), Thursday, 26 October 2006 14:16 (nineteen years ago)

cool, DC! I'm fine with that (it may still be Game 4).

if Alligator Lounge is OK, fine. I read Jay Jaffe of Prospectus sayin he watched last weekend at, ha, 7B.

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 26 October 2006 14:34 (nineteen years ago)

well IF there's a game on Saturday, who's in? default location?

Dr Morbius (Dr Morbius), Friday, 27 October 2006 15:38 (nineteen years ago)

ice cream social justice (Dr Morbius), Tuesday, 17 October 2017 15:17 (eight years ago)

two weeks pass...
