Morbs has been posting Dennis Perrin tweets (and , pre-Twitter, blog posts) since 2006. While I am no Perrin fan and would like very much to never see his tweets, they are now part of the very fabric of ilx. Removing them could have unintended future consequences for the site. Consequences that we are incapable of fully understanding from our limited perspective.

1) he is occasionally m/l accurate, on some of those occasions slightly mordant, is never even slightly funny

2) ppl post chapo stuff in the chapo thread and nobody has any problem with this

3) if he’s good on trad comedy and you are posting his tweets on a thread about greek culture from 300-400 years BCE then probably nobody has any problem with this either? I don’t read that thread though

4) there is a dedicated thread for Dennis Perrin tweets, which most ppl who are bored by Perrin tweets in unrelated threads might look at occasionally if you posted Perrin tweets in it, with genuine open curiosity. as Aimless says, people who know you are more interested in your own thoughts being added to an ongoing conversation than the oblique opinings of some guy who wrote a biography of some other guy, once, 25 years ago.

I actually kind of see them in a similar light! Three pieces, stuck together over time and developed a certain aesthetic and musical language that was unique to themselves (that's the only reason to care about a rock band now imo), both grew and changed over time but maintained their identity.
