Huk-L (Huk-L), Monday, 17 October 2005 17:21 (twenty years ago)

That's maybe the textbook definition of "teaser"! FFS.

The Ghost of Black Elegance (Dan Perry), Monday, 17 October 2005 18:00 (twenty years ago)

WTF? That could be a teaser for Grey Goose vodka or whatever.

ng-unit, Monday, 17 October 2005 18:02 (twenty years ago)

The suspense, it is heightened!

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 17 October 2005 18:04 (twenty years ago)

X-Men 3 will be an extended ad for the Wolverine SOLO movie.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Monday, 17 October 2005 18:05 (twenty years ago)

I've a really strong gut feeling that it will be shit.

chap who would dare to violate the least amount of laws of physics (chap), Monday, 17 October 2005 18:10 (twenty years ago)

Is uh Brett Ratner still directing it? Because then it will be shit. Fucking Ratner.

adam (adam), Monday, 17 October 2005 18:37 (twenty years ago)

fuck no he's going to save this franchise

s1ocki (slutsky), Monday, 17 October 2005 18:41 (twenty years ago)

When did "save [x]" become a synonym for "fuck [x] in the ear"?

The Ghost of Black Elegance (Dan Perry), Monday, 17 October 2005 18:43 (twenty years ago)

It's going to have mutant hookers! Maybe Chris Tucker will show up as some sort of mutant jackass?

O'so Krispie (Ex Leon), Monday, 17 October 2005 18:48 (twenty years ago)

"maybe"

Huk-L (Huk-L), Monday, 17 October 2005 18:48 (twenty years ago)

Or perhaps even a Michael Jackson cameo, since Ratner is one of his best friends.

O'so Krispie (Ex Leon), Monday, 17 October 2005 18:48 (twenty years ago)

that's guilt by association!

s1ocki (slutsky), Monday, 17 October 2005 18:49 (twenty years ago)

dudes, watch the last half hour of x2 again. singer had great ideas & a great eye for casting and lots of respect for the franchise but dude could not follow through.

s1ocki (slutsky), Monday, 17 October 2005 18:50 (twenty years ago)

I'm convinced that Serena Williams is having the problems she is having now because Brett Ratner fucked her in the ear.

The Ghost of Black Elegance (Dan Perry), Monday, 17 October 2005 18:53 (twenty years ago)

Being infected with Ratner spooge anywhere would probably lead to serious health problems.

O'so Krispie (Ex Leon), Monday, 17 October 2005 18:55 (twenty years ago)

s1ocki's got it, but I still think the third film will be even worse. Didn't they start filming without a script or something?

mike h. (mike h.), Monday, 17 October 2005 18:59 (twenty years ago)

That poor movie's ears.

The Ghost of Black Elegance (Dan Perry), Monday, 17 October 2005 19:05 (twenty years ago)

i think a good ear-fucking is exactly what this franchise needs! painful but neccessary!

s1ocki (slutsky), Monday, 17 October 2005 19:55 (twenty years ago)

What the hey, s1ocki?! Why the X-loathing?

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 17 October 2005 19:58 (twenty years ago)

cuz the movies are such TEASES!

s1ocki (slutsky), Monday, 17 October 2005 20:05 (twenty years ago)

honestly i'd be easier on them if they didn't come so... close...

s1ocki (slutsky), Monday, 17 October 2005 20:06 (twenty years ago)

i think a good ear-fucking is exactly what this franchise needs! painful but neccessary!

That's what Serena said, and LOOK WHAT HAPPENED TO HER!

The Ghost of Black Elegance (Dan Perry), Monday, 17 October 2005 20:12 (twenty years ago)

(I liked both of the "Rush Hour" movies but really, I don't need to see Jackie Chan as Sunfire and Chris Tucker as Bishop bumbling their way into the Phoenix Force.) (No matter how awesome that might read on paper.)

The Ghost of Black Elegance (Dan Perry), Monday, 17 October 2005 20:20 (twenty years ago)

i just think that despite his... boorishness? ratner has this weird ability to make any movie he touches really watchable (check the family man for proof of that)

s1ocki (slutsky), Monday, 17 October 2005 20:22 (twenty years ago)

I'm not a huge fan of X2 either. WHERE ARE THE FUCKING SENTINALS?

chap who would dare to violate the least amount of laws of physics (chap), Monday, 17 October 2005 22:36 (twenty years ago)

The X-Men should go to the Savage Land. I'd watch that, Ratner or no.

adam (adam), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 00:13 (twenty years ago)

WHERE ARE THE FUCKING SENTINALS? OTM.
Less crying, less brooding, more giant robot space opera.

Chuck_Tatum (Chuck_Tatum), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 08:47 (twenty years ago)

Spider-man could use a bit less crying too. Even FF had too much crying in it. This 'emo demographic' must be crushed before their sucky influence spoils any more films.

Vic Fluro (Vic Fluro), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 10:27 (twenty years ago)

Maybe the Sentinals are busy hanging out with the Sentinels?

Also, regarding the emo whining: you guys HAVE read the comic books these movies are based on, haven't you?????

The Ghost of Black Elegance (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 10:59 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, but aren't those the comics we hate?

Chuck_Tatum (Chuck_Tatum), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 11:19 (twenty years ago)

You hate Claremont's ENTIRE RUN?????

The Ghost of Black Elegance (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 18 October 2005 12:35 (twenty years ago)

I want PUNK STORM in this movie.

Also, that american indian character who lasted about 2 issues should be in it too.

Jacob (Jacob), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 02:43 (twenty years ago)

It's okay to cry if you are being magnetically exsanguinated. But that's about it.

Austin Still (Austin, Still), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 03:08 (twenty years ago)

Just after you've had to watch your girlfriend commit suicide is probably one of those de-rigeur crying moments too.

Stone Monkey (Stone Monkey), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 13:32 (twenty years ago)

Although:
Time taken to angst by Peter Parker in Spider-Man 2, 'cause he can't get the gurl: one hour to 90 mins
Time taken to angst by Cyclops when wife is squished to death by water in X-Men 2: couple mins, then credits

Chuck_Tatum (Chuck_Tatum), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 14:42 (twenty years ago)

jean grey's death in x2 SUUUUUUUUUUCKED.

s1ocki (slutsky), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 17:43 (twenty years ago)

She died? I don't remember.

Leeeeeeeeee (Leee), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 17:48 (twenty years ago)

She drowned ("drowned") trying to hold back a tidal wave! She even manifested the Phoenix Force right before getting overwhelmed by water.

The Ghost of Black Elegance (Dan Perry), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 17:49 (twenty years ago)

WHY DID SHE USE HER POWERS OF TELEKINESIS TO AVERT 1000 TONS OF WATER ISNTEAD OF JUST LIFTING UP THE PLANE

s1ocki (slutsky), Wednesday, 19 October 2005 17:51 (twenty years ago)

Hush now.

Suedey (John Cei Douglas), Thursday, 20 October 2005 12:57 (twenty years ago)

SHE'S AN ELEMENTAL FORCE OF NATURE NOT AN ELEMENTAL FORCE OF AVIATION

mike h. (mike h.), Thursday, 20 October 2005 13:47 (twenty years ago)

The answer is that they put the clue right at the other end of the film: when we see her the first time, she's been having some sort of trouble with her powers, and then nothing is mentioned for 80 minutes until it's time to die.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Thursday, 20 October 2005 15:23 (twenty years ago)

She even manifested the Phoenix Force right before getting overwhelmed by water.

"Phoenix Force" - this still makes me shoot blood out of my eyes. The retcon that took my innocence...

rogermexico (rogermexico), Thursday, 20 October 2005 16:25 (twenty years ago)

Isn't the last shot of X2 a big bird thing shadow under the water?

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 20 October 2005 16:52 (twenty years ago)

Anyway, my feelings toward X3 can be summed up with two words and comic book cover:
FAMKE JANSSEN +
ihttp://www.comics.org/graphics/covers/11680/400/11680_4_004.jpg

Huk-L (Huk-L), Thursday, 20 October 2005 16:54 (twenty years ago)

really more pertinent to the comics than the movie but i figured at least a couple of you guys would find these amusing. flash animation x-men parodies, hosted on newgrounds:
episode 1
episode 2
episode 3
episode 4

whatever, Friday, 21 October 2005 01:27 (twenty years ago)

one month passes...
so there are photos of Kelsey GrammerBeast and somebody else out there.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Monday, 5 December 2005 18:11 (twenty years ago)

I'm so happy USA Today thought to interview a fan for this one-sheet.

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 5 December 2005 18:17 (twenty years ago)

OMG Kelsey Grammar looks amazing

Dan ("I'll Take 'Sentences I Never Thought I'd Type' For $600, Alex") Perry (Dan, Monday, 5 December 2005 18:30 (twenty years ago)

Fan Thomas Hay, 29, of Livonia, Mich., agrees.

I took me a minute to catch on that they meant "Thomas Hay, a fan" and not a guy with a Vietnamese-sounding name (except for the Thomas part).

Huk-L (Huk-L), Monday, 5 December 2005 18:30 (twenty years ago)

Weird, it looks like part of the plot for this movie is based on Joss Whedon's first storyarc on Astonishing X-Men.

Matthew C Perpetua (inca), Monday, 5 December 2005 18:32 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, totally. Not a bad thing, since the "mutant cure" was the most interesting part of his run to date and the movie will hopefully tease it out a bit more.

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 5 December 2005 18:37 (twenty years ago)

So is every other major X-Man coming back? The cast isn't going to get too crowded?

Keep the juices flowing by jangling around gentleee as you move (Leee), Monday, 5 December 2005 18:55 (twenty years ago)

Not if half of them are cured!

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 5 December 2005 19:02 (twenty years ago)

Nightcrawler isn't going to be in this movie.

Matthew C Perpetua (inca), Monday, 5 December 2005 19:19 (twenty years ago)

The X-Men in this movie:

Charles Xavier
Cyclops
Wolverine
Storm
Rogue
Colossus
Iceman
Kitty Pryde
Beast
Angel
Jean Grey

plus:

Magneto
Mystique
Pyro
Juggernaut

Matthew C Perpetua (inca), Monday, 5 December 2005 19:21 (twenty years ago)

No Emma Frost, unfortunately!

Matthew C Perpetua (inca), Monday, 5 December 2005 19:23 (twenty years ago)

This is the part of the thread where we cast Emma Frost.

I'm shooting blanks, unfortunately.

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 5 December 2005 19:24 (twenty years ago)

Unless Charlize Theron wants to get back in Aeon Flux shape (& take a paycut).

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 5 December 2005 19:28 (twenty years ago)

why would they not include nightcrawler? he was like the best thing about x2!

s1ocki (slutsky), Monday, 5 December 2005 19:30 (twenty years ago)

xpost And you got on me for my "solicitations" request!

They could do worse than cast Famke Janssen in that role too. It'd be like one of those arty actor's pieces, or a Lynch flick!

Keep the juices flowing by jangling around gentleee as you move (Leee), Monday, 5 December 2005 19:33 (twenty years ago)

Alan Cumming is too busy pimping his fragrance to get dolled up in blue body paint.

Also, IT'S A FACT that everything about X2 was beyond awesome, and anyone that thinks otherwise is a doodyhead.

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 5 December 2005 19:38 (twenty years ago)

That's a good idea, Leee. Or perhaps, David Lynch IS Emma Frost!

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 5 December 2005 19:41 (twenty years ago)

Don't make me ban you!

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 5 December 2005 19:41 (twenty years ago)

(John Hurt as the Blob!)

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 5 December 2005 19:41 (twenty years ago)

Maybe B.Rat doesn't like teh gyas?

Huk-L (Huk-L), Monday, 5 December 2005 19:41 (twenty years ago)

Emma Frost = Angelina Jolie in a blonde wig. Duh.

Dan (Duh) Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 5 December 2005 19:43 (twenty years ago)

(Also, Brett Ratner = The Blob)

Dan (BURN) Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 5 December 2005 19:43 (twenty years ago)

You mean Singer likes the gays?

Rhetorical question ahoy (Leee), Monday, 5 December 2005 19:45 (twenty years ago)

Only if she does her Alexander accent.

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 5 December 2005 19:46 (twenty years ago)

If Rat didn't like teh gheys, then Magneto would be gone-oh or shunted off to the side-oh.

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 5 December 2005 19:46 (twenty years ago)

Oh, right.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Monday, 5 December 2005 19:47 (twenty years ago)

Only if she does her Alexander accent.

Well, DUH!

Dan (She Has To Do That Accent In Every Role From Now On) Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 5 December 2005 19:47 (twenty years ago)

Have you gone all Ebert on us Dan?

Keep the juices flowing by jangling around gentleee as you move (Leee), Monday, 5 December 2005 19:49 (twenty years ago)

AJ's of age!

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 5 December 2005 19:53 (twenty years ago)

I haven't suddenly gotten fat, if that's what you mean.

Dan (I Do Fixate On Actors, Though; Always Have) Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 5 December 2005 20:10 (twenty years ago)

I don't care for Jolie, but that's actually pretty good, plausible casting.

Matthew C Perpetua (inca), Monday, 5 December 2005 20:13 (twenty years ago)

I haven't suddenly gotten fat, if that's what you mean.

But did you bang Oprah?

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 5 December 2005 20:15 (twenty years ago)

Did Ebert?!?!?!??!?!?!

At about this time, Oprah and I went out on a date. Well, actually two dates, but the one that made history began when we went to the movies. Afterward, we went to the Hamburger Hamlet for dinner, my treat.

Dude, if he sprung for the Hamburger Hamlet, you know it was on.

Jordan (Jordan), Monday, 5 December 2005 20:23 (twenty years ago)

actually i think charlize would be awesome

s1ocki (slutsky), Monday, 5 December 2005 20:42 (twenty years ago)

Would she do the same accent that she does on Arrested Development?

Matthew C Perpetua (inca), Monday, 5 December 2005 20:45 (twenty years ago)

Actually, all this talk of Jolie and Theron is all well and good, but you just know that we would actually end up with Joely Richardson or Jamie Pressley.

Dan (You Know It's True) Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 5 December 2005 20:53 (twenty years ago)

Joely Richardson

And the problem here is...

David R. (popshots75`), Monday, 5 December 2005 20:57 (twenty years ago)

we got halle berry and famke janssen!! that ain't bad!

s1ocki (slutsky), Monday, 5 December 2005 21:07 (twenty years ago)

And the problem here is...

HAHAHAHA Sorry! I meant Joely FISHER. Joely Richardson would actually make some amount of sense.

we got halle berry and famke janssen!! that ain't bad!

AND Rebecca Romijn! So maybe my fears are groundless.

Dan (Haha Oops) Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 5 December 2005 21:20 (twenty years ago)

i think we're going to be ok!

s1ocki (slutsky), Monday, 5 December 2005 21:22 (twenty years ago)

Except Rebecca Romijn-Stamos wears butt-ugly makeup!

Keep the juices flowing by jangling around gentleee as you move (Leee), Monday, 5 December 2005 21:27 (twenty years ago)

Haha my fears about a hypothetical casting choice that isn't going to happen anyway are groundless! HOORAY

Rebecca Romijn-Stamos wears butt-ugly makeup AND NOTHING ELSE (U+K detail)

Dan (We Can Relax Now) Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 5 December 2005 21:28 (twenty years ago)

Dan (Look At The Forest On Her) Perry (Dan Perry), Monday, 5 December 2005 21:41 (twenty years ago)

Is Vinnie Jones still in this?

Suedey (John Cei Douglas), Tuesday, 6 December 2005 00:25 (twenty years ago)

IMDB sez he is.

Anyone else having trouble loading the new "announcement trailer?"

Can I get a PHWOAR?

Keep the juices flowing by jangling around gentleee as you move (Leee), Tuesday, 6 December 2005 01:37 (twenty years ago)

OK, kids, start w/ the bitching: according to IMDB, this PYT is playing Emma Frost in X3.

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 6 December 2005 01:38 (twenty years ago)

& Vinnie is Juggernaut.

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 6 December 2005 01:39 (twenty years ago)

BTW: I had trouble loading the LARGE version of the trailer, but had no difficulty viewing the MEDIUM version.

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 6 December 2005 01:42 (twenty years ago)

She's a little... er... young.

Keep the juices flowing by jangling around gentleee as you move (Leee), Tuesday, 6 December 2005 01:44 (twenty years ago)

Ageist.

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 6 December 2005 01:47 (twenty years ago)

Teaser looks NICE, but I'm a pushover. No Beast talkage, tho. A good sign (for me, ever the eternal optimist): one of the X2 co-writers was aboard for this flick.

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 6 December 2005 01:49 (twenty years ago)

Dan: Hot or Not?

Keep the juices flowing by jangling around gentleee as you move (Leee), Tuesday, 6 December 2005 02:17 (twenty years ago)

Others feel free to weigh in.

Keep the juices flowing by jangling around gentleee as you move (Leee), Tuesday, 6 December 2005 02:41 (twenty years ago)

I'm gonna have to keep my mouth shut, or else David's gonna throw the banzzor whammy on me.

Ah, I can't help it. X2 was largely a muddled piece of blubber that had some good moments and not enough of Ian McKellen gloating. Even so, it was better than the first one. Maybe the third one will be awesome. Kelsey Grammer is certainly spot-on casting (perhaps too spot on), though the PYT above is too goddamn young to play Emma Frost convincingly in my book, but hey, anything's possible.

Think I'll just content myself by reading Morrison's run again sometime...

Matt Maxwell (Matt M.), Tuesday, 6 December 2005 04:17 (twenty years ago)

PYT is listed low on the totem pole, tho, so it's doubtful she'll have much of a role - I assume she'll be to this flick what Colossus & Kitty Pryde were to X2.

In my mind, Matt, you are BANNED 4EVAH.

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 6 December 2005 06:52 (twenty years ago)

Let's hope you're not a telepath!

kingfish trampycakes (kingfish 2.0), Tuesday, 6 December 2005 08:29 (twenty years ago)

I don't see any GIANT ROBOTS, so if it's just another repeat of Wolverine vs. Magneto, doens't that make X-Men just an endless rerun of Catch That Pigeon with better special FX?

Chuck_Tatum (Chuck_Tatum), Tuesday, 6 December 2005 12:17 (twenty years ago)

You mean, just like the comics?

I do feel guilty for getting any perverse amusement out of it (Rock Hardy), Tuesday, 6 December 2005 13:28 (twenty years ago)

I think I would enjoy a My Dinner With Andre style X-movie consisting of a 90 minute chess game between Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan.

Jordan (Jordan), Tuesday, 6 December 2005 14:58 (twenty years ago)

Jordan OTM. Just as long as it didn't veer into overwrought overwroughtness a la the last 3 mins of X2.

Matt Maxwell (Matt M.), Tuesday, 6 December 2005 15:43 (twenty years ago)

the trailer was good! this is going to be the best one. go ratner!!

Obsessing over the unobtainable and nonexistent. (Leee), Saturday, 10 December 2005 00:24 (twenty years ago)

two months pass...
New trailer up. It looks kind of superawesome.

1) Who is the tattooed lady talking to Magneto?
2) No Emma Frost in the trailer.

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 10:24 (twenty years ago)

The tattooed lady is either Callisto or Stacy X.

Dan (Hope It's Callisto) Perry (Dan Perry), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 13:18 (twenty years ago)

It's Callisto.

They showed this during last night's 24 (A SPECIAL TWO HOUR EVENT) (the show, not the trailer). I'm still sort of bullish (or bearish) (the reticent one) on the flick despite obvious kewlness, and the trailer kinda reveals a key plot thing, but that last bit w/ Jean & Logan gave me goosebumps.

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 13:59 (twenty years ago)

hardly any Cyke…

If the little bald kid from Birth is the one playing "the mutant who's the source of the cure," I feel bad for someone, but I'm not sure who. He's playing Leech, so ... I guess I feel bad for someone?

(He has essentially the same role in Ultraviolet.)

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 14:43 (twenty years ago)

yeah, but you don't see him anywhere else…the funeral could be for him…or maybe its at the beginning, for Jean, before they find her body…

I rilly like the shot of Beast leaping towards the Brotherhood…pity there's no shots of Colossus…

every fan boy should get chills when Jean says "kill me" as per X-men 137…

veronica moser (veronica moser), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 15:10 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, chill factor X - based on that brief smackerel, the scene looks like an homage to the Dark Phoenix bit & the Logan / Jean scenes during Grant M's "Planet X" arc.

Isn't Cyclops Lois Lane's new Boy Toy in Superman Returns? HE'S LOYAL TO THE OLD GUARD and Ratner punished him like he was Crosetti.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 15:47 (twenty years ago)

i hope all the hand-wringing over the mutant cure is just sleight-of-hand... it kind of looks like it actually.

s1ocki (slutsky), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 16:05 (twenty years ago)

That would almost be worse for the kid! It's sleight of hand in Ultraviolet too. Poor kid's going to be pigeonholed as the expressionless McGuffin who's a cure for stuff.

But for the movie, yeah. It smells like a way to keep the mutant prejudice thread going so the movie isn't just about intermutant drama.

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 16:09 (twenty years ago)

who would you, ahem, like to tap: Famke or Anna? (not a Halle person, me)

veronica moser (veronica moser), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 16:24 (twenty years ago)

Dude, what about me restarting this thread indicated that I wanted to be spoiled on Ultraviolet?

Andrew Farrell (afarrell), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 16:25 (twenty years ago)

When it comes to the ladies, what's good for Feral Lad is good for me.

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 16:25 (twenty years ago)

Don't worry, Andrew - I'll call Zatanna & she'll fix you right up.

Fun Fact: the Rotten Tomatoes Ultraviolet rating = FIVE PERCENT.

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 16:26 (twenty years ago)

Nothing (significant) was spoiled! It's a minor part of a movie that isn't plot-driven to begin with.

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 16:27 (twenty years ago)

I have had a boner for FAMKE since 1995. LITERALLY. OW.

Huk-L (Huk-L), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 16:33 (twenty years ago)

Zatanna can help w/ that, too.

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 16:34 (twenty years ago)

RENOB ,TLIW

s1ocki (slutsky), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 16:36 (twenty years ago)

Like Batman said, Zatanna's done enough, thanks.

veronica moser (veronica moser), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 16:47 (twenty years ago)

I've seen sci-fi channel movies with better special effects. What an embarassment.

Ever since TNG's "The Perfect Mate" (5x21) featured Kamala the empathic metamorph Kamala has my nerd hormones been stoked by the statuesque Nederlander.

c(''c) (Leee), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 18:05 (twenty years ago)

That trailer got me fairly excited, which I wasn't expecting. I don't know how they're going to fit in Beast and Angel and Morlocks and Brotherhood of Evil Mutants army and DARK FUCKING PHOENIX and make it all coherant, though.

P.S. Famke, Halle, Anna... any would do me. Callisto looked quite hot in a dirty evil troglodyte way, as well.

NOW WITH MORE LUDATITS

David R. (popshots75`), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 18:12 (twenty years ago)

It does look busy in a possibly good way -- a "holy shit, how are they fitting all this in and there's still forty minutes left" kind of thing would be fine with me, even if you decide afterwards it felt a bit forced. (That's the reaction I'm having to this season's 24 -- I haven't watched it regularly since first season -- but maybe Morrison is a better comparison, what with superheroes and all.)

I'm not gonna be able to see Angel as anything but Claire Fisher's boyfriend, though.

Tep (ktepi), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 18:16 (twenty years ago)

argh that's who it is. i hate that guy

s1ocki (slutsky), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 18:35 (twenty years ago)

I didn't see Six Feet Under, but he was good in Freaks and Geeks. But I guess I refuse to hate on anyone from Freaks and Geeks except Ben Stiller.

My Psychic Friends Are Strangely Silent (Ex Leon), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 18:46 (twenty years ago)

Who was he on Freaks and Geeks?

Huk-L (Huk-L), Tuesday, 7 March 2006 18:57 (twenty years ago)

Batman.

Have we forgotten the Romijn already? SHE'S JUST WEARING PAINT. (But my answer would be Anna, no wait Famke, no wait BOTH.)

SHE'S JUST WEARING PAINT. AND GRANOLA.

angel IS zach braff!

etc, Tuesday, 16 May 2006 07:58 (nineteen years ago)

not that i was expecting any different, but all three films seem to de-emphasize Cyclops more than they should…

but then, ever since the Rise of Wolverine in the early '80s, Cyke has been portrayed in the comics as an uptight drip, not a dutiful, conscientious guy who forges a bunch of loners into a team.

those qualities aren't sexy or kewl, I guess…

veronica moser (veronica moser), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 21:29 (nineteen years ago)

According to my sixties X-Men essentials, he was always an uptight drip.

Vic F (Vic Fluro), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 22:32 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, Cyclops was one of the most irritating characters ever until Morrison got ahold of him, mister!!!

Deric W. Haircare (Deric W. Haircare), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 22:46 (nineteen years ago)

(It should be noted that, everytime I've ever seen Cyclops spout "Mister!", I hear Charles Nelson Reilly's voice. Maybe he could've done something more interesting with the character than James Marsden has.)

Deric W. Haircare (Deric W. Haircare), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 22:51 (nineteen years ago)

DID YOU GUYS SEE THE CLIP WITH THE SENTINAL!!?!??!?!

city of gyros (chaki), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 23:06 (nineteen years ago)

I've seen a clip which alledgedly contained a Sentinal, but it was all dark and smokey.

chap who would dare to be a nerd, not a geek (chap), Tuesday, 16 May 2006 23:10 (nineteen years ago)

SPOILERS

at the start of the film they're fighting a sentinel, but it turns out to be a danger room simulation w/no other sentinel-related stuff in the film whatsoever! probably the best action sequence in the fim.
also, cyclops gets very little screen time due to being DISINTEGRATED IN THE FIRST TEN OR SO MINUTES HAHAHAHA. which reminds me - groanworthy dialogue: "not everyone heals as fast as YOU, logan!" "storm, you of all people should know how fast the weather can change!", &c&c&c.
& i'm pretty sure iceman wasn't so fugly in the previous film. brrr.

etc, Wednesday, 17 May 2006 00:19 (nineteen years ago)

this wasn't as bad as i thought. thought it was crap at first viewing a couple years ago, but i rented it yesterday and i was surprised. not as good as the other two, but a lot better than i remembered.

this was on TV the other night/week/month. Funny to see Juno and Anna Paquin as rivals, since Juno--who might have an actual name--kinda replaced Anna Paquin as "the new new Megan Follows".

Oh Why, Sports Coat? (Dr. Superman), Wednesday, 14 January 2009 22:03 (seventeen years ago)

Uh, dude, Juno's actual name is Kitty Pryde. Plz. :/
