W4LTER, Thursday, 7 February 2008 03:35 (eighteen years ago)

W4LTER, Thursday, 7 February 2008 04:38 (eighteen years ago)

I'm confused about the part where John is drinking wine, tbh.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 7 February 2008 04:44 (eighteen years ago)

I'm sure it cost $3.99.

HI DERE, Thursday, 7 February 2008 04:48 (eighteen years ago)

That explains it then.

Sara R-C, Thursday, 7 February 2008 05:12 (eighteen years ago)

Current 93, #3 with a bullet!

John Justen, Sunday, 10 February 2008 20:58 (eighteen years ago)

John Justen, Sunday, 10 February 2008 20:58 (eighteen years ago)

I think we're going to have the awesomest chart on Last.fm.

HI DERE, Monday, 11 February 2008 00:16 (eighteen years ago)

You do know that I'm now tempted to destroy the chart by playing really, really bad stuff, don't you?

Sara R-C, Monday, 11 February 2008 00:21 (eighteen years ago)

Oh I think I were 1 Currrent 93 listener.

W4LTER, Monday, 11 February 2008 00:24 (eighteen years ago)

http://www.wtburadio.org/

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 18:53 (eighteen years ago)

^^^^you are awesome

jessie monster, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 18:59 (eighteen years ago)

What's all this about Jessie being a radio god and nobody telling me. I blame you all. (Except for Jessie of course.)

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 19:03 (eighteen years ago)

Allllll myyyyyyy faullllllltttttt.

(You know you should never mess with lapsed Catholics and their guilt, though, Ned.) ;_;

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 19:08 (eighteen years ago)

Also I need to restart my computer to see if I can get the WBTU connection to work for me today. For some reason, it's not!

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 19:08 (eighteen years ago)

Also not working here ;_;

John Justen, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 19:11 (eighteen years ago)

Hmmmm, maybe it's NOT just my computer incompetence. (This one time.)

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 19:14 (eighteen years ago)

oh noes it broke!

jessie monster, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 19:16 (eighteen years ago)

jessie monster, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 19:17 (eighteen years ago)

lol kids soundtrack

max, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 19:18 (eighteen years ago)

kay I e-mailed tech and new media directors. I think it's technically new media's job but she's an idiot.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 19:20 (eighteen years ago)

clearly I should be transcribing all the songs you are not hearing.

this one goes: "doop doo doo doo doo doo doop doooo"

^^^I am really sick this is why I don't make any sense.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 19:23 (eighteen years ago)

Hopefully the tech issues will be worked out quickly.

Sorry you're sick!

"doop doo doo doo..." Wait, I think I know that song...

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 19:26 (eighteen years ago)

you probably just need to reboot the server where the webstream is located

max, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 19:29 (eighteen years ago)

er, the server from which the webstream is broadcasting

max, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 19:29 (eighteen years ago)

or plug it in or something

max, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 19:29 (eighteen years ago)

IF I KNEW WHERE IT WAS I WOULD.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 19:33 (eighteen years ago)

max, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 19:33 (eighteen years ago)

;_;

oh well I just listened to Lupe Fiasco and Radiohead instead

^_^

HI DERE, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 21:53 (eighteen years ago)

I did not listen to anything, but I did read some of my textbook. ;_;

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 22:02 (eighteen years ago)

i worked in abject silence ;_;

John Justen, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 22:12 (eighteen years ago)

I listened to Porter Wagoner sing a bunch of psychotic songs. Also, the Night Marchers.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 22:54 (eighteen years ago)

At first I read that as "I listened to Lyle Waggoner..." and I was really, REALLY confused.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 22:58 (eighteen years ago)

they fixed it!

jessie monster, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 23:18 (eighteen years ago)

I am thinking I will just play the same show over again next week.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 23:19 (eighteen years ago)

Then we won't miss anything!

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 23:19 (eighteen years ago)

The brighter side of re-runs.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 13 February 2008 23:20 (eighteen years ago)

W4LTER, Monday, 18 February 2008 04:21 (eighteen years ago)

W4LTER, Monday, 18 February 2008 04:50 (eighteen years ago)

John Justen, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 16:22 (eighteen years ago)

jessie monster, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 17:38 (eighteen years ago)

jessie monster, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 17:38 (eighteen years ago)

jessie monster, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 17:47 (eighteen years ago)

you haven't met my therapist

remy bean, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 17:47 (eighteen years ago)

You could play songs about therapy.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 17:47 (eighteen years ago)

Remy's therapist is a strange creature, this I know.

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 17:48 (eighteen years ago)

I will be listening while working on the screwed-up store checkbook. jessie, your show may keep me from setting the recrods on fire. Hopefully.

SINNER MAN

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 19:51 (eighteen years ago)

My very favorite part of my very favorite dance piece uses a different version of "Sinner Man." SO AMAZING

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 19:52 (eighteen years ago)

it is used to awesome effect at the end of Inland Empire

jessie monster, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 19:56 (eighteen years ago)

You should see even a videotape of this piece of Revelations (choreographed by Alvin Ailey). In person it is eye-popping. I've seen it up close to the stage and to see the height that (some) male dancers can attain is incredible.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 19:59 (eighteen years ago)

wow I apologize about playing low-rent shins

AS WELL YOU SHOULD

Ned Raggett, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 20:17 (eighteen years ago)

they make me do it.

this song is boring.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 20:18 (eighteen years ago)

i think there is an active conspiracy to shop at eclipse during your radio show. i will miss it again this week.

John Justen, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 20:24 (eighteen years ago)

Uh-oh, John is catching on to the conspiracy, guys.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 20:34 (eighteen years ago)

Time to go get the kids from school. ;_;

jessie - thx for keeping me entertained for the past 2 hours; I got most of the data into the computer! I hope you didn't sustain any terrible injury from hitting the microphone... ;)

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 20:49 (eighteen years ago)

in college radio, microphone hits you!

John Justen, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 20:54 (eighteen years ago)

I missed the second hour due to work ;_;

HI DERE, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 21:51 (eighteen years ago)

i am always in meetings during jessie's show

max, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 23:16 (eighteen years ago)

jessie monster, Wednesday, 20 February 2008 23:49 (eighteen years ago)

ACTUALLY missy i am in meetings for MY OWN RADIO STATION that i am the BIG BOSS of and if i could i would FIRE you for implying that i ever use the toilet

max, Thursday, 21 February 2008 00:11 (eighteen years ago)

max does not use the toilet, he glistens

John Justen, Thursday, 21 February 2008 01:09 (eighteen years ago)

how many people have you actually fired, max?

El Tomboto, Thursday, 21 February 2008 01:10 (eighteen years ago)

I fired like eight djs when I was in charge. pretty much every show that was actually popular, because the guys running them had this impression that they were untouchable and did dumb shit like run tape and skip out or play metallica albums or cuss on the air.

El Tomboto, Thursday, 21 February 2008 01:11 (eighteen years ago)

3 DJs last semester and our webmaster last year. no one else so far tho!

max, Thursday, 21 February 2008 01:18 (eighteen years ago)

actually thats unfair, we lost 3 DJs last semester due to... a mutual feeling that we could no longer work well as a DJ/station team.

max, Thursday, 21 February 2008 01:19 (eighteen years ago)

max, Saturday, 23 February 2008 02:59 (eighteen years ago)

Sara R-C, Saturday, 23 February 2008 03:10 (eighteen years ago)

awesome sara!

max, Saturday, 23 February 2008 03:38 (eighteen years ago)

I have to keep going in and out of my office, but at least I'm catching some of it! :)

Sara R-C, Saturday, 23 February 2008 03:51 (eighteen years ago)

Also, when I went out to talk to my husband, we saw the CRAZIEST commercial on television. It was all "every woman has her beauty secrets..." it looked like it was going to be a makeup ad. NO. It is for a new bra that CONCEALS NIPPLES.

For some reason this struck us as completely hilarious.

Sara R-C, Saturday, 23 February 2008 03:52 (eighteen years ago)

ps to max - it just hit me that you attend Occidental. My in-laws went there!

Sara R-C, Saturday, 23 February 2008 03:53 (eighteen years ago)

You know something else that will never cease to amaze me is that I can hear a college radio station from California and one from Boston so easily via the internet.

When I was in college, I couldn't even hear my own college's radio statio in half of the dorms on campus. (I could hear Carleton's, but not St. Olaf's.)

Sara R-C, Saturday, 23 February 2008 04:31 (eighteen years ago)

what class were your in-laws?

max, Saturday, 23 February 2008 06:31 (eighteen years ago)

max - sorry I didn't see this for DAYS! I have no idea what years they were at Occidental. I will have to ask. They both left to get married (I guess...) and then graduated from other colleges. But Occidental is where they met.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 17:50 (seventeen years ago)

Also, don't forget jessie's radio show this afternoon, guys.

I might will try to catch some of it, but I think our Indian food date is going to be with a bunch of A's co-workers, and one of them can't leave campus until 12:30. I will miss hearing the beginning. ;_;

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 17:51 (seventeen years ago)

my radio show is on the ALTERNATE STREAM today due to sports preemption.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 17:56 (seventeen years ago)

ITR will not stand for this

John Justen, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 17:58 (seventeen years ago)

today we march on Boston to destroy their "sports"

John Justen, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 17:59 (seventeen years ago)

Between the "alternate stream" and my non-functioning speakers, I fear for my afternoon.

xpost Okay, so, I guess John is driving then.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 18:01 (seventeen years ago)

(I don't think even John can get to Boston fast enough to march on it by the time jessie's show is on)

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 18:01 (seventeen years ago)

DON'T CROSS THE STREAMS.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 18:02 (seventeen years ago)

There's a peeing joke in there somewhere; I'm just not clever enough to make it

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 18:04 (seventeen years ago)

DO NOT HEAR ANYTHING

mookieproof, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 19:05 (seventeen years ago)

Did you select the alternate stream?

HI DERE, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 19:05 (seventeen years ago)

i did

mookieproof, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 19:06 (seventeen years ago)

it is giving me 56kbps of silence

mookieproof, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 19:06 (seventeen years ago)

same here

John Justen, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 19:07 (seventeen years ago)

non alternate stream is full of yahoos making sports noises, so it isn't on my end

John Justen, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 19:09 (seventeen years ago)

HRM

jessie monster, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 19:09 (seventeen years ago)

it seems like it's whatever it's using to stream?

jessie monster, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 19:10 (seventeen years ago)

well poopy.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 19:22 (seventeen years ago)

hey jessie--do you know if the webstream server is in the booth? if people are successfully connecting but cant hear anything, the problem likely lies with the connection btw your console and the server/antenna. if you know where those things are, you can check to make sure theyre plugged in

max, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 19:30 (seventeen years ago)

well from fiddling around (I've never used this studio before, only the main one) I've figured out that a) we're using a program on the computer to stream and b) it only picks up stuff from winamp, nothing from the mixing board.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 19:32 (seventeen years ago)

is the mixing console plugged into the audio in of the computer?

max, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 19:40 (seventeen years ago)

THERE ARE A LOT OF WIRES LEMME LOOK

jessie monster, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 19:41 (seventeen years ago)

yes.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 19:43 (seventeen years ago)

weeeird. the only thing i can think of doing is fiddling with the settings of the webstream application to see if you can specify it to broadcast the stream from the audio in

max, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 19:44 (seventeen years ago)

yeah apparently the streaming app can't connect to the server. OH WELL I'MA GO TAKE A NAP

jessie monster, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 19:47 (seventeen years ago)

college radio sucks

max, Wednesday, 27 February 2008 19:49 (seventeen years ago)

John Justen, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 19:52 (seventeen years ago)

this song pleases me

John Justen, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 19:52 (seventeen years ago)

it's essential logic. all their output is available on one collection (fanfare in the garden). it's reeeeally good.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 19:53 (seventeen years ago)

I WILL NEVER GET THER IN TIME :( xpost

John Justen, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 20:14 (seventeen years ago)

I am sad that I have missed so much during a mini-crisis about my schedule for the rest of the term. (WHY are my weekend classes going to be on Sundays instead of Saturdays, etc.)

Also I want a pizza, jessie. No onions, plz.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 20:14 (seventeen years ago)

wait so this is new goldfrapp?

John Justen, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 20:15 (seventeen years ago)

sunday instead of saturday is due to atheistic liberal college evil!

I am from North Carolina.

I PUT THE EFF YOU IN FCC.

yes that was new goldfrapp. the cover looks like a mama/papas album?

jessie monster, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 20:16 (seventeen years ago)

it quavers uneasily between techno swoosh and soft rock then it would appear. huh.

John Justen, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 20:18 (seventeen years ago)

AND NOW FOR FOLKIER RASCAL FLATTS.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 20:18 (seventeen years ago)

i guess what im saying is that the people that keep saying its a return to "Felt Mountain" are kind of stupid then

xpost DAMN SON THATS FOLKSIE

John Justen, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 20:19 (seventeen years ago)

wait, no it isnt. wtf with album blurbs.

John Justen, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 20:19 (seventeen years ago)

it sounds like wilco lolololololol.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 20:20 (seventeen years ago)

xpost It's a Catholic college! But definitely kinda liberal - totally love that about it.

RE: music you are playing. I think I need a list of what is what before you play it. God, and a freaking hearing aid. I have to get this fixed ffs.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 20:20 (seventeen years ago)

where in nc? i lived in derm for a while, am going to chapel hill in a few weeks

mookieproof, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 20:21 (seventeen years ago)

rinky-dink 4-figure population town outside of Charlotte.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 20:22 (seventeen years ago)

i would like to put in an early request for next week for brainiac - "cracked machine" maybe

John Justen, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 20:27 (seventeen years ago)

I got a lot of brainiac so I can prolly do that.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 20:28 (seventeen years ago)

lol why did I pick this song.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 20:28 (seventeen years ago)

brainiac - a good argument for deforestation

xpost haha

John Justen, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 20:31 (seventeen years ago)

NEGATIVLAND OH U AWESOME

John Justen, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 20:32 (seventeen years ago)

I AM PLAYING YR REQUEST.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 20:57 (seventeen years ago)

YAAAAAAAAEEGHAAHAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

John Justen, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 21:00 (seventeen years ago)

sara, that last song is what the voices in my head sound like

John Justen, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 21:02 (seventeen years ago)

I am EXTREMELY unhappy that I missed that; it would have explained so much!

What was the song?

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 21:26 (seventeen years ago)

Liza Minelli - "Somewhere Over The Rainbow"

HI DERE, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 21:27 (seventeen years ago)

brainiac - "cracked machine", although "yellow, black, and rectangular" by negativland might work too on calm days

xpost

John Justen, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 21:28 (seventeen years ago)

hey guys we should try and all remember to listen to the max show this friday

John Justen, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 21:28 (seventeen years ago)

xpost Daniel, I LOVE YOU THE MOST TODAY

John - thank you, I will investigate. Perhaps if I ever get to do a psychiatric nursing rotation you will be of assistance.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 21:30 (seventeen years ago)

xpost - I will try!

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 5 March 2008 21:32 (seventeen years ago)

again, again!

jessie monster, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 16:15 (seventeen years ago)

OH SHIT

John Justen, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 16:16 (seventeen years ago)

A RADIO BEAR

John Justen, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 16:16 (seventeen years ago)

BEARDIO

jessie monster, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 16:16 (seventeen years ago)

btw should I do a "worst show ever" where I intentionally attempt to annoy my listeners with song selection/order for two hours? or is playing rotation every week enough.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 16:18 (seventeen years ago)

we used to do an audio torture segment every show where we would play the most difficult listening stuff we could find until someone called in with a compelling enough reason for us to stop

John Justen, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 16:24 (seventeen years ago)

And to think that I rarely listened to your radio show because hearing your disembodied voice in my dorm room seemed weird.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 16:26 (seventeen years ago)

looks like when i die i have to spend at least some amount of time haunting sara

John Justen, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 16:27 (seventeen years ago)

last night we debated the merits and possible consequences of listening only to Gwar for seven straight days.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 16:28 (seventeen years ago)

You do realize that I'm going to die, too, right. And then it will be REVENGE TIME xpost

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 16:29 (seventeen years ago)

i request gwar, 'sick of you'

mookieproof, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 17:56 (seventeen years ago)

I am definitely playing Gwar next week. Is that song FCC friendly?

jessie monster, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 18:13 (seventeen years ago)

as far as i remember.

it's at least as radio-friendly as the woman who read the news...

mookieproof, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 18:16 (seventeen years ago)

vlad the impaaaaler

jessie monster, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 18:18 (seventeen years ago)

Aw, Julee Cruise <3 <3 <3

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 18:38 (seventeen years ago)

I will need some damn good coffee (and hot) later.

I think Dan could use a cup, too; he's having a freaky day.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 18:38 (seventeen years ago)

i had the same Julee Cruise reaction as sara

John Justen, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 18:41 (seventeen years ago)

Srsly still wanting to go to the ROADHOUSE in Twin Peaks to hear her.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 18:44 (seventeen years ago)

I can hear the music okay through my computer, but whenever jessie talks I can just hear dim muttering. ;_;

Gotta get the Sound Sticks fixed or find some other way of listening.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 18:57 (seventeen years ago)

yeah I don't get it, maybe I will yell louder.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 18:58 (seventeen years ago)

Try eating the computer.

HI DERE, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 18:58 (seventeen years ago)

I have the board cranked all the way up :/

jessie monster, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 18:58 (seventeen years ago)

you guys just missed another T Anthony's ad.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 18:59 (seventeen years ago)

It is really a problem with my computer. I am trying not to be all Nagging Wife with A., but of course I have no clue how to fix this.

No worries; at least I can hear music!

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 18:59 (seventeen years ago)

Oooh I like this Kate Bush song, too.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 19:39 (seventeen years ago)

I also get ridiculously excited when I recognize a song.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 19 March 2008 19:40 (seventeen years ago)

lol

mookieproof, Wednesday, 26 March 2008 18:02 (seventeen years ago)

I wanted to play the video edit of "real big" by mannie fresh but youtube doesn't work on this computer and I only have the album version. ;_;

jessie monster, Wednesday, 26 March 2008 18:20 (seventeen years ago)

huzzah!

mookieproof, Wednesday, 26 March 2008 18:27 (seventeen years ago)

I might be able to catch the second half of the show (hope hope hope).

I'd play it upstairs, but my laptop is ancient and is not so much for the streaming radio online.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 26 March 2008 18:29 (seventeen years ago)

i was expecting 'into the danger zone' there

mookieproof, Wednesday, 26 March 2008 19:05 (seventeen years ago)

omg I will NEVER play that song. the theme park near my hometown had a Top Gun themed rollercoaster and they blared that song the entire time you waited in line.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 26 March 2008 19:05 (seventeen years ago)

Yay, company gone; I can listen until it's over!

Boo, I am still without Sound Sticks that actually function. ;_;

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 26 March 2008 20:15 (seventeen years ago)

It was completely disorienting to hear Billy Joel singing "Pressure" at what must be the beginning of the next show. God these speakers are distorting sound, too. SO FRUSTRATING

jessie - you still rock!

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 26 March 2008 21:03 (seventeen years ago)

I CAN HEAR YOU THIS WEEK JESSIE!

Ending early for sports... ;_;

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:07 (seventeen years ago)

the only thing that should ever end early for sports is other sports

John Justen, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:08 (seventeen years ago)

oh maybe like torture or something that i would be ok with

John Justen, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:09 (seventeen years ago)

I suggest you call/IM and harass the sports staff.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:09 (seventeen years ago)

bah I have to listen to this fucking opera

HI DERE, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:10 (seventeen years ago)

Or you could go over there and, like, tackle them in person

(John will not tell you this, but he played FOOTBALL in high school for a while.)

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:10 (seventeen years ago)

Dan = listening to opera will help it osmose into your brain?

I think that could work.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:11 (seventeen years ago)

I was on swim team for like a week. I think I recount it on the "most embarrassing moments of your life" thread.

Dan listening to opera is for Frasier Crane.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:11 (seventeen years ago)

oh baby I hear the blues a'callin' toss salad and scrambled egggzzzzzzz-AH

jessie monster, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:14 (seventeen years ago)

and maybe I seem a bit confused...something...

jessie monster, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:15 (seventeen years ago)

BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THOSE TOSSED SALADS AND SCRAMBLED EGGGZZZZ-AH

THEY'RE CALLING AGAIN.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:16 (seventeen years ago)

sara, i'll have you know i lettered in football.

my meteoric rise was halted however when i grew progressively skinnier until i was the second lightest person on the team (after notorious pseudo-midget Bucky B4l5t3r)

xpost THANK YOUAAAH

John Justen, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:16 (seventeen years ago)

Wait, wasn't Bucky later the notorious electro-idiot killer guy?

I only lettered in THESPIAN SOCIETY thankyouverymuch

(I'm sorry, John, but you and football has always seemed an odd mix to me. But I mean that in a way that is complimentary to you. Probably not to Bucky, however.)

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:21 (seventeen years ago)

my high school didn't have letters.

I got Rushmore-style achievement pens in English (or maybe Physics? Or Chemistry?) and French though.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:22 (seventeen years ago)

*pins not pens

jessie monster, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:22 (seventeen years ago)

I'm from the south hi

jessie monster, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:22 (seventeen years ago)

English, Physics, Chemistry... basically all the same thing, right?

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:23 (seventeen years ago)

all I know is I got two pins.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:25 (seventeen years ago)

I think that is all any of us needs to know.

I would not have even passed physics, I don't think. John was trying to explain something about how radiators work the other night and I heard "heat... water... air..." and my brain immediately turned itself off in self defense.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:26 (seventeen years ago)

The only thing keeping me from being really pissed about being called Frasier is the fact that Kelsey Grammar is a motherfucker with some dark secrets.

I lettered in track every year I went out but never lettered in soccer. At least I don't think I lettered in soccer...

HI DERE, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:27 (seventeen years ago)

xp: Was John explaining radiators or pressure bongs?

HI DERE, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:27 (seventeen years ago)

Radiators. I don't remember why. I was still traumatized by the snow and the fire drill.

Dan basically lettered in EVERYTHING. Because he's brilliant. But I'm sure he has some dark secrets. (He's not very Frasier-like, however)

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:29 (seventeen years ago)

haha I just remembered that Mr. M1nd3r used to call me "Lilith" all the time. I think this stemmed from the day I wore my hair in a bun and wore a suit to school for "Dress for Success Day" (or some other kind of Sno Week nonsense).

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:31 (seventeen years ago)

I wasn't *calling* you Frasier, I said only Frasier listens to opera instead of my radio show. It is one of Kelsey Grammar's dark secrets, alongside his collection of little sweaters.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:31 (seventeen years ago)

well, and his serial killer tendencies

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:32 (seventeen years ago)

OH SHIT i lettered in track too even though i was COMPLETELY UNMOTIVATED AND ALSO HORRIBLY UNTALENTED i was also on the worst all conference relay team ever

John Justen, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:33 (seventeen years ago)

Frasier's, not Dan.

Not even deX.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:33 (seventeen years ago)

Jessie we all think you should letter in radio.

John Justen, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:34 (seventeen years ago)

or get a pen

John Justen, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:34 (seventeen years ago)

whatever it is you people do to reward achievement

John Justen, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:34 (seventeen years ago)

John was in track, too...?

xpost we could CREATE an award for jessie

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:35 (seventeen years ago)

I would like a bomb please.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:38 (seventeen years ago)

hey guess whether this is rotation or not.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:42 (seventeen years ago)

I'm going to say yes, because it is reminding me of how I used to use WLTE (a local radio station) to make myself fall asleep

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:44 (seventeen years ago)

I think you lettered in track if you showed up to all of the practices.

HI DERE, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:51 (seventeen years ago)

that sounds about right

John Justen, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:53 (seventeen years ago)

Despite marrying a person who seems to enjoy it, I can't imagine signing up for something that suggests having to run somewhere.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:57 (seventeen years ago)

my bf is always extremely amused whenever he sees me run, which to date has been twice.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 18:57 (seventeen years ago)

I sometimes have to chase my daughter, who is very fast and small and who weaves in front of other people easily (unlike, say, ME). I hate that. She is 5 and 1/2 and I still sometimes think, "hmmmm, if I just had a leash..."

I am sure watching me run is also amusing... not sure A. would say so, though. jessie, your bf is brave! (or you are nicer than me)

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 19:01 (seventeen years ago)

dude they totally sell child leashes.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 19:03 (seventeen years ago)

I know that they do; I just can't go there. ALTHOUGH I WANT TO

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 19:11 (seventeen years ago)

Whoa, Huey Lewis makes me lol

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 19:11 (seventeen years ago)

that's the powerrrr of love!

jessie monster, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 19:12 (seventeen years ago)

p.s. rotation is next and will break your heart.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 19:12 (seventeen years ago)

I'm ready to have my heart broken.

It's been a while.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 19:14 (seventeen years ago)

Okay, what the heck IS that!?!

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 19:16 (seventeen years ago)

PIG DESTROYER.

jessie monster, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 19:16 (seventeen years ago)

NEXT: SALT THE WOUND
AND THEN: the new moby album lololol

jessie monster, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 19:17 (seventeen years ago)

It is kind of scary sounding.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 19:18 (seventeen years ago)

nothing much on the rotation shelf looked good

jessie monster, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 19:19 (seventeen years ago)

so I figured I would amuse myself.

this song is called "a slight burning sensation"

jessie monster, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 19:19 (seventeen years ago)

Nice title there!

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 19:20 (seventeen years ago)

PIG DESTROYER IS AWESOME AND ALSO IS NAMED PIG DESTROYER WHICH IS AWESOME

John Justen, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 19:21 (seventeen years ago)

like a recursive loop of awesome

John Justen, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 19:21 (seventeen years ago)

the pig destroyer song was called "girl in the slayer jacket"

jessie monster, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 19:22 (seventeen years ago)

The phrase "pig destroyer" gives me Carrie flashbacks

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 19:25 (seventeen years ago)

Thanks jessie!

Apparently you are being replaced by SOFTBALL

meh.

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 2 April 2008 19:42 (seventeen years ago)

is it over? i tuned in and got sports talk :(

I enjoyed listening! Glad you are feeling better this week, jessie. :)

Sara R-C, Wednesday, 16 April 2008 20:00 (seventeen years ago)

I was too as noted in other enormous ITR thread.

ENBB, Wednesday, 16 April 2008 20:02 (seventeen years ago)
